  1. I think at this point, playing a fully staffed team who is a class bigger, who had already played some games, was a decent advantage coming in. Add to that a cold second half of shooting, in a game where the shot needed to fall (I.e., outsized), it’s not a complete shock. I don’t completely disagree with Who That. These teams could play 10 times and get all kinds of widely differing results. And Mamba’s right. We should give credit where credit is due. Memorial looks poised to have a new group step up and make some noise. Basketball is in that PA blood. You don’t bring everything you’ve got, you’re not going to win very often against those guys.
  2. Silsbee kids have to be ready to fade some of this stuff. Saw an interview of Coach Sig by the PA News talking about getting everyone’s best shot. Last night’s game and some of these early one’s aside, many of Silsbee’s opponents will never have a chance to know what it’s like to win a state title. Beating silsbee is the next best thing to them. Silsbee will be most teams’ “super bowl.”
  3. I was curious. Hard to tell with some mid majors who start cracking the rankings. UCF is going to have an interesting playoff argument. 23 in a row and counting. They finish undefeated for the second year in a row, I say put them in over a one loss power 5 team.
  4. We were talking about a different kid. Freshman guard Abrams, I believe.
  5. Wow, you would think someone who is a head coach of a girls’ program (and whose son coaches the boys’ program) at a local high school wouldn’t be posting lewd comments about person’s wife and their son on a high school forum, posting “sttdb” on the college forum (you can google that vulgar phrase in connection with LSU, folks), all the while demonstrating a minimal grasp of the English language. Boy, the Bridge City folks sure must be proud.
  6. Open them a little wider.
  7. Everyone on this site knows team WT first is a classless idiot. Glad you feel compelled to join in AAW.
  8. All jokes aside, didn’t see a single play. Was UAB any good?
  9. Bo was great. Now he was no Babe Didrikson
  10. I probably lost my white trash interpreter.
  11. I’m not saying there weren’t blown calls on both ends. It was pretty bad in general imo.
  12. Both had double doubles apparently. Love watching Lofton play as well. He’s a throwback, old school craftsman out there.
  13. My favorite was late in the 4th quarter. Hefner gets a steal near mid court and a one on one with a defender. As he’s going up, the defender almost undercuts him, Hefner puts his left hand on the defender to catch himself as he lays it in with his right hand. Official under the basket blows his whistle and raises his hand to call a presumable “and 1” foul. Official trailing the play comes running in and waves off the basket and calls the offensive foul. It was a clown show at times.
  14. A lot of them. Officiating was pretty brutal. But that game shouldn’t be close enough to allow officiating to play a part.
  15. Really good win. Boo goes 10 for 10 against a pretty good defense. Hopefully Sam will be ok.
  16. Clover finished with 23. He’s also a long 6-8 who makes it very difficult to get to the rim.
  17. LJ is an animal. 24-3 UT
  18. This! Play your C game against someone playing their A+ game and get a few calls...upset special.
  19. Not many. I know their QB plays.
  20. How did the freshman play for Memorial? I was extremely impressed with him last week. His shooting got them back in the Concordia game.
  21. Boudreaux with 32 for the Cardinals with 7 3s. Hefner had 33 for the Bulldogs. Ned came out flat and looked flat the whole game.
  22. BC 65 Ned 60 F No other way to frame it. That’s a bad loss for Nederland.
