  1. Texas looks pretty bad. At some point, shaka may want to throw a shooter into a recruiting class....
  2. Saw my guy Savion Flagg had 24 & 16 in the Ags opener against Savannah St. They are going to need some consistency from him to have any kind of success this season.
  3. You know they didn’t have much else when they weren’t THAT good with him. Kind of like Alvin when they had Flagg, except Grimes is a one-and-done lottery pick.
  4. No dudes in tight white pants to get you going??
  5. You raised a fine young man. He has an amazing story and truly embodies the “student-athlete.” I will be rooting for him throughout his career, which will extend well beyond Lubbock in my opinion. And by the way, I have a son at Tech as well. He’s a freshman and called me after the U of H game and told me, “Dad we actually have a beast on defense!” I said, let me guess, Dakota Allen?
  6. EC’s district for sure. There is another team in that district that will have the most highly recruited player in the district and picked up maybe the best shooter in the district via transfer/move in.
  7. That’s how the TABC had them I am guessing. I would be willing to bet those two teams won’t both be in the top 3 of that district.
  8. Don’t disagree but I was speaking in general terms about a state that can’t get its you know what together and continually butchers the electoral process.
  9. I’m thinking I may have to head over there tomorrow and watch the 3 pm thru 6 pm games.
  10. Better than you would think if you see his form (Probably around 60 percent.) And you’re dead on. A collegiate strength and conditioning coach/dietician is going to do him wonders. The kid works his tail off.
  11. “Prettiest pig in the pen?” See that can be a BDF joke or an aggy joke.
  12. I specifically thought of you with that first sentence of my post because that is one of the areas where we agree strongly. But what do you do here?
  13. And Lampkin’s MR teammate LJ Cryer may be the highest rated player in the state in that class. If he’s not, he’s close. The Mark/Cryer matchup is probably the most intriguing in that slate of games. Although the Memorial/Concordia game appeals most to me personally.
  14. Oh gotcha. I read something about him playing with a broken hand. It was an article about whether he should sit out the rest of the season. I’ve seen a few tech games this year and he’s easily their best defensive player, if not best player period. He does look to have NFL talent. Article had an interesting discussion about what risks players in his situation should take when they are banged up like he is.
  15. We agree completely here. That’s why I wanted to be clear who I was speaking of. Just the average American, and I don’t even know what the median income is in this country anymore. But I’m certain it’s a heckuva lot lower than 250k.
  16. Has a hand injury but they are pretty tight-lipped about injuries in college. I don’t think it’s publicly known if he will play or not (unless something’s been released I haven’t seen). Hope he’s careful with it. That kid’s a pro imo.
  17. I wonder if it is. I became aware of Dakota Allen and his story from Last Chance U. I heard a little before but learned much more from reading after. He’s a special kid, on and off the field.
  18. For sure. He plays with Clover from PAM, and another big from this area in the summer (along with Hefner from Nederland). Fun team to watch. Lampkin passes off the block about as well as I’ve seen any high school kid.
  19. I would say yes, but Nash is right that it is tough to say unless you’re in that position. Most, including my wife, who know me would know it’s ridiculous but I get that the general public was merciless and doesn’t “know” you. I’d also like to think I would have handled it better but again that’s tough to say. You are 100 percent correct on the prestige aspect. For me personally, that would be the most compelling part of the job. I was using the money part of it as an example for the average joe. A lot would be willing to endure a month of ridicule for $250k + a year for the rest of their life.
  20. I am a big proponent of State’s rights over the federal government. But we are getting the point with Florida (if not past it) that somebody needs to come in and “help” them with the electoral process.
  21. In fairness, maybe I place too much weight on Scalia’s opinions. I’m just a huge admirer. I would trust his assessment of Kagan over “rumblings” though. But that may just be me.
