  1. Heck even the pros are unpredictable. Many sharps will tell you that the professional leagues are the hardest to handicap against the spreads - because the more action the sports books get on a sport, the tighter the lines usually. They don’t put those sports books in those fancy casinos (and NJ and others weren’t fighting to legalize them) because they are accustomed to handing out money. By the way, @AggiesAreWe, did you hear they’ve put in a book at the Beau? I just heard about it Wednesday night.
  2. AAW loves him some David Green. For good reason - as you say, outstanding coach and an even better person.
  3. [Hidden Content] Well, well, we’ll... looks like the Big 12 “Brunch” game led the pack. In all fairness, one of CFB’s greatest traditions is always in the noon eastern slot. And the night games all had garbage teams. Put that instant classic in prime time and no telling what the numbers would have been.
  4. He has the hottest mom of any player in the country. That should count for something. [Hidden Content]
  5. I almost said something about that but wanted to avoid mentioning a certain team due to a previous comment. But yes, sometimes the pace you dictate is the nail in your coffin!
  6. Wait until we get a little closer to the season. We have a couple of really good Yates’ posters who contribute. This is an interesting game. Interested to see what tempo United will play. We all know the one gear Yates plays and they do a good job at dictating the pace of most of their games.
  7. Maxey has his way almost every time he steps on the court. There’s a reason Kentucky was willing to take him this year had he reclassed. And make no mistake about it, he would have played in Kentucky this year. And Chris Harris is a 4 star Texas A&M commit. So having a backcourt with two High Majors is a problem for most teams. Add a 6-10 big with Baylor, Wake Forest and DePaul offers, among other, and that’s a tall task for any team to face, much less a team whose bigs are their guards. I will be pulling hard for Silsbee to pull off the upset. But again, a competitive game would be impressive. But per usual, Coach Sigler is running his team through the gauntlet, taking all comers, which will once again have the Tigers battle tested come playoff time. Once you’ve gotten a taste of a South Garland, the likes of Carter, Lincoln, etc seem more pedestrian.
  8. Yeah, if silsbee makes it competitive, that will be impressive. SG might be the best the best team in the state this year.
  9. There’s one game where silsbee won’t have the best guard on the court. Tyrese Maxey is on another level.
  10. Banner time! 2nd week in the Top 25. Hold a link sale and give that Jumbo an extension!! in all seriousness, I made a friendly wager with a friend of mine yesterday that the coaches poll would have BlowU ahead of still. The majority of the SID grunts submitting votes would reason that a 3 pt win at “home” (they don’t follow the game closely enough to realize it’s as neutral field as it gets in sports) to make a big enough leap to pass them. I now will be the temporary owner of 1 beer due to my foresight!
  11. Of all the dumb aggy things that exist, this is the aggyiest. I suppose we are all “t-shirt” fans of the professional teams we support, and there are plenty of “t-shirt” aggy fans around, including on this board. A couple I know are more die hard Aggies than most I know who actually attended there. Somehow, and logic isn’t the aggy strong suit, you are less of a fan if you didn’t attend that school. One of the “t shirt” longhorn fans in this area has donated well into 8 figures to UT. If only he could reach the status of a former aggy student with a $500-$1000 class ring... I remain convinced that many an aggy are hung up on the “t shirt fan thing” because they can’t wrap their minds around someone getting into The University when they couldn’t. I have been called one at Kyle on more than one occasion to which my stock response has been, “just because you couldn’t get into UT doesn’t mean I didn’t.” Both times the stuttered response I got was basically incoherent and didn’t refute my premise...
  12. The only thing that would surprise me is if the game wasn’t close, regardless of who wins. I will take Silsbee by a score, because I think they’re the better team.
  13. This is a very interesting point. I think there’s a lot of truth in this.
  14. And I’m thinking our biggest game of the decade was our first. But that’s one of those games no living aggy would know anything about.
  15. And by daddy, he means handicapped, envious little brother. You guys suck but you don’t OU suck. So you have that going for you, which is nice...
  16. Win or lose, this was a different team. He is who TEXAS, LSU, tOSU and others thought he was. And we didn’t have to spend $70m to hire a coach on the hot seat, which is nice. For all those Texas haters, be afraid. Be very afraid. The future is going to be painful for you.
  17. I think whatever sweat you may have had there should be over shortly. Thoughts and prayers to the hoards of under betters currently praying for a weather stoppage.
  18. If he stays healthy, he’s next at RBU. Also known as DBU. Kid is a stud.
  19. Don’t break your arm patting your own back. I can name at least half a dozen towns in east Texas alone with just as much talent as WOS and zero titles to show for it. I’ll give you 3 guesses what the difference is.
  20. That was probably very wise. Everybody and their mother loved the under in this one.
  21. Cornel Thompson has been one of the better defensive coaches in this state, regardless of level, for more than 3 decades. That didn’t change over night. Sometimes, kids aren’t as good as others, or aren’t as coachable as others. To argue it’s on him, is laughable. And by laughable I mean hysterical. And by hysterical, I mean asinine.
