Heard an interesting stat tonight. Since 2015, Alabama, Clemson, tOSU, and OU have all won over 90 percent of their conference games, with an average margin of over 20 pts per game. The Buckeyes have the largest margin of victory at over 28 ppg. Bama was a little over 24 ppg. OU had the lowest at just over 20. Cant remember Clemson’s but it was somewhere between Bama and tOSUs.

That place is the nuts and I love but am picky about Thai food. As you insinuate, the biggest problem is deciding what to order.

One, when school ball is in full swing, so is the college season. Coaches may visit and catch a game here and there, but that is primarily in an attempt to secure/keep a commitment, not for evaluation. They want to see a potential power 5 kid play against other power 5 type talent. The best place to do this is in the late spring and summer, when their seasons are over and the sneaker circuits are in full swing. I believe McCain has that type of talent, but a coach might be less willing to gamble until he’s seen that talent “translate” with his own eyes.

He was and decommitted some time ago. Not sure the circumstances but was not related to any of the issues mentioned here from what I understand. One thing that should be kept in mind is that offers given when kids are underclassmen are more “offers” with emphasis on quotation marks. Coaches may be counting on a certain amount of development, growth, etc. This is in no way a comment on Jordyn’s situation - he has committed to Austin Peay and I’m sure he will have success there and has the opportunity to get a great education there for free. A big congrats to him. My understanding is that Devon has an OV scheduled with Austin Peay in a couple of weeks and it is a down to and Univ. of New Orleans. Most probably are thinking he will end up at AP as well. Kudos to Coach Sless at UNO for continuing to recruit SETX hard and has had some success here (Weisbrod, Zeno). I know with McCain, he was projected high D1 at times and I still think he has that kind of talent. Performances like he had in the championship game last year are next level stuff. Most kids aren’t even capable of pulling that out of their bag. I know the “incident” is what most people think has hurt him and if probably didn’t help. But he’s a big hearted kid from what I know of him and a lot of kids make a mistake. The biggest drawback from my discussions with guys at the next level is that they never got to see him compete, especially last summer, against the top national players. And like it or not, big time scholarships are earned in this day and age between April and July, not November and March.

By the way, for anyone with a hankering for Central Texas Barbeque, Killen’s in Pearland is as good or better than most. The brisket and beef rib are top 5 in the state (which means top 5 in the world of course) imo. For Southeast Texas, JB’s in Orange is still the best to me (although if you are a BBQ connoisseur, “best” is very much a relative term for SETX bbq). @PN-G bamatex treat yourself one day and hit Micklethwait’s trailer one day for lunch. Everything he does is homemade (even the bread) and his brisket, ribs, etc are all excellent. Also rotates the homemade sausage with all kinds of varieties. You should also try his jalapeño cheese grits. Finally, if you can go now that it’s cooler, try a homemade moon pie. All of it is outstanding.

Yes better than both imo. And both of those joints would probably be top 10ish for me.

I am a big fan of sandwiches. I tend to think our neighbors to the East have perfected the craft, maybe largely because of the bread they use. Anyway, the best sandwich I’ve found anywhere is the Darrell’s Special at Darrell’s in Lake Charles. I am a huge fan of the cheesesteak and have had the best Philly has to offer. Darrell’s beats them hands down. I have tried everything I could find in New Orleans which are some pretty special po boys at various places, Darrell’s is better imo. If you haven’t tried one, put it high on your foodie bucket list. And get it with the jalapeño mayo. That thing is probably my favorite meal in the area, although you all have listed some really good ones as well.

You misspelled Aaron Franklin

Bama is obviously in a class by themselves. I would put tOSU and Notre Dame in the next category and obviously are shoe ins if they win out. They would improve the playoffs because they have both looked elite to me at times this season. Clemson is not very good imo and the ACC is dreadful this season. If they win out, obviously they are in and probably should be due to some “credit” they’ve built in recent years. Of the one loss teams, LSU and Georgia have looked the best to me from what I’ve seen on a weekly basis. The rest of them, Michigan, OU, Texas, Florida, Oregon, WVU etc have been wildly inconsistent are interchangeable if you matched them up. There are a lot of 2 loss teams that you could easily put in that group in terms of quality of team, including *gasp* aggy.

I’m looking forward to the Bama-LSU matchup. Hopefully the awful CBS Vern and Gary won’t have this as an afternoon game. BR at night is a different animal and would likely be Bama’s biggest year of the season. Not sure what happened in Gainesville because I saw none of that game but still think LSU is the probably the second best team I’ve seen this year. Ohio St has looked the part at times and may be more talented but I still think LSU in Tiger stadium is the best chance we have at seeing this Bama team go down. Which means the Tide may only win in the 14-21 pt range...

You need to add a loss in the moral victory column for Team Jumbo due to us holding on to win against Waco aggy Saturday.
-
LSU and GA would have to beat Bama to win out. Michigan would have to beat tOSU to win out, and, assuming a close game and both of those two win every other game, I wouldn’t have a problem really with both getting in. The biggest hurdle would be us winning out which seems like a huge long shot. Plus we have the worst loss imaginable. If OU beat us in a rematch, they have a better case because their loss to us is so much better than our loss to the turtles.
-
Very true. We have a chance. Unlike the zero chance aggy that year they got excited in September/October. Plus committee will try to find a way to sneak TEXAS in, not keep us out like they would with little sister.
-
Fell perfectly for so many reasons. Sam only has a grade 1 sprain (least severe sprain you can have) and it falls on a bye week. Barring complications. He should be practicing next week and available for Okie lite.
-
If Sam is out, I don’t see much possibility in us maintaining this win streak. Of course with aggy, November happened which unfortunately for them comes once a year...
-
Cameron Rising and Casey Thompson are both true freshmen who were early OU commits that Herman decided to take from them. Buechele not getting in game snaps is due to the fact that we have played down to our opponents the entire season. The only game you could really make a case for would be some 4th quarter action against Southern Cal. It would have been nice for him to be less rusty but I prefer picking a horse and going with it vs QB by committee which tends to be a mess.
-
That Sam injury brought back nightmares of Colt’s. We were fortunate to hang on today. The offense is geared for a mobile QB. Could be rough sledding if it’s as serious as it looked.
-
And #1 in your noggin obv....
-
And all of the conferences are pretty weak this year. I would say Big 10 is next best conference followed by the Big 12
-
Relax Cletus. I include LSU in the two teams that are very good. Along with the team you guys are currently stomping. Big 12 does not have any teams I would include in the very good category this year.
-
Auburn isn’t very good. SEC has one great team. 2 very good teams, and then meh.
-
Yeah this could be trouble. Shane looks understandably rusty.

ALCS- Astros vs Red Sox

See we do agree from time to time. Ever since they instituted this in the NBA, I thought it devalued home field advantage significantly. But I guess that may have been the point. Either way, I prefer the 2-2-1-1-1 format.
