Yes he is. I wouldnāt be surprised if the Tigers wanted him back (although they have been better of late). Watching McNeese the other night, they may stumble somewhere in conference (because, well basketball) but it wonāt be easy. Tough to beat a team that has the best roster and is the best coached.
-
Rodney should send him 10 percent of his paycheck right after tithing. A lot easier to Coach when you are handed a final four-caliber team someone else put together. UT didnāt have much choice giving him a deal but they gave him more money and more years than I thought was necessary. Still not a ridiculous deal and certainly can afford to buy him out after next season (which may be likely if he doesnāt figure it out). When you have someone who has coached for many years, their record will tell you who they are. Then again, Iāve seen some colleges hire guys who have barely ever had a winning season. Rodney is a nice guy but may be over his head.

Yes they are. 13k in attendance too. Very underrated basketball state.

#14 Orangefield at #7 Kountze Predictions - 1/16

They have a 6-7 with some bounce. Pretty solid rebounding team. If they shoot it well, could be a pretty good game. If they struggle (or turn it over excessively) could get out of hand. -

Havenāt announced yet (that Iāve seen) but my understanding is normal day. -
West Orange-Stark 62 Silsbee 107/FINAL
TxHoops replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Absolutely. I think Silsbee is better and BTW is not. Their best player is back though and heās a handful. I like Silsbee against them though as long as they play relatively well. -
Same gene pool, just much softer kids who appear to have breast fed inappropriately too long in BC⦠Back on topic, as long as the Bobcats donāt hire Mike McCarthy or Jimbo Fisher I will be happy.

Cards definitely stole one but also thatās about as well as Iāve seen them play. The first two conference games were against probably the two worst teams in the conference. The good news is Lamar isnāt the worst for the first time in 3 years. Monday will tell us a lot about levels I think.

This district aināt helping. I like them to get to SA. Once there, the smart money is always on the metroplex but you never know. -

Is there a chance of precipitation on Tuesday? Looks like itās cold. Are they really talking about canceling games because it will be in the 20s? -
This is the correct answer.

Got a bit of family in Gig Harbor so Iāve always followed since I was a kid in the Don James days. DeBoer was kinda an outside the box hires. He had always had success but not long at the D1 level. The huskies seem to have a solid AD.

[Hidden Content] itās done. Good job Bammer. Impossible to replace what you had but probably the best you could do.
-
Best hire available in my opinion. Perfect world, I would have been more than fine with Satk saying yes and UT poaching DeBoer. I think he is that good. We shall see I guess.
-
I would fly Mark Stoops in and then meet him on the tarmac, tell him weāve changed our mind, and tell him itās not him, itās us. If you have a chance to troll a stoops, you take it.

#14 Orangefield at #7 Kountze Predictions - 1/16
TxHoops replied to Bobcat1's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Kountzeās depth along with the defense they play will cause 95 percent of teams serious problems. Itās the 5 percent that have elite guards where it falls apart because it leads to easy buckets on the other end. Then the question becomes how good is your half court defense? As often as not, itās relatively weak due to reliance on the press. This is why relatively few teams do this at the next level and the ones that do, use it to eat shot clock vs causing turnovers Having said all that, Kountze could win every game by 20+ until they play a Hitchcock and then they could get beat by 20+ if they are unable to adjust. In terms of Orangefield, Scales is probably the best ball handler Iāve seen there in the almost 30 years Iāve been following (and only a sophomore). This will definitely be the most interesting matchup of the district imo -

One of the teams better not overlook Fridayās game or it wonāt be the battle of the undefeateds. -
I donāt necessarily hate that hire for Bama either. Defense wins championships and heās spent his entire coaching career under the greatest defensive mind (Saban) and second greatest defensive mind (Smart) in CFB. Crazy to think someone that young could get that job. But could be a genius hire. If not, shouldnāt take a lot od money to get out of it.

Supposedly the Nike money tied to Lanning is crazy. To be honest, Iām not sure DeBoer wouldnāt be my first choice after Kirby of ANY coaches in college football (including Harbaugh). 104-12 record as a head coach is insane, at any collegiate level. Imagine with Alabamaās resources and pedigreeā¦
