  1. Just saw a mock post on FB announcing Butch Jones 😂
  2. Saw some Alabama folks discussing this yesterday and they basically said the same. They don’t think they could get Sark anyway. I wouldn’t lose sleep either way to be honest.
  3. This!
  4. Any truth to the rumor Mike Elko just received a 10 year, $200 million extension, payable in riyals and plutonium?
  5. Happens with young teams. They will get better with experience.
  6. You’re welcome SEC
  7. I believe he’s talking about the game being closer than some would have thought. Any win against a Todd Sutherland-coached team is a good win. And I think some people assumed when Kountze blew them out that the Bucs wouldn’t be very good. I think people may be under appreciating how good the Lions are.
  8. I didn’t know whether to put this in college sports or here but since they are obviously better at treason than football… [Hidden Content] Isn’t open enrollment enough? Now these idiots are selling nuclear technology to adversaries to pay ex-coaches and players for their dumpster fire program? We don’t need this trash in the SEC or receiving PUF and/or other state funding…
  9. Win or lose, these are invaluable games for the Tigers. Especially since their district appears even weaker than usual this year. I think the result, given the hand they were played, is probably as good as can be expected. Silsbee would be my favorite out of region 3 to get to SA.
  10. That’s where I was lost. I see what you were saying now.
  11. That’s crazy to me too because surely Vidor has more talent than Liberty Hill. Also shocking Prouse hasn’t won state with it either, what with Deweyville having way more studs than Duncanville or Katy…
  12. He said 22-23 school year (which would have been 2022 football season). That’s my understanding too - is that not correct?
  13. Regarding my claim about Smalley’s effectiveness as an AD, here are the most recent “Coaches of the Year” recipients in SETX. Orangefield has more than double any other school, all Smalley hires.
  14. They have a shot. Hitchcock is definitely the most talented team in the region but Kountze is good enough to have a “puncher’s chance” imo.
  15. Dallas filing any sort of grievance with the UIL is hilarious. They are the dirtiest district (and region with the metroplex in general) of any area of the state and it isn’t even close. They made an example out of Duncanville in basketball but honestly that’s the tip of the iceberg. I would bet a large amount of money that SOC has multiple starters that are questionable enrollees at best.
  16. Definitely agree. Honestly 2-5 could be wide open. I think Kountze is the clear favorite and I like Orangefield next but overlook any of the top 5 teams at your own peril.
  17. They hired Clay’s assistant from HJ right? Seems like whoever it was will be a good one. Looks like the Panthers are going to be right in the mix.
  18. That kid on that “good call” commercial a few years back. I thought that was the most unrealistic thing I’d seen until I actually saw Devon McCain tell an official during a Silsbee game that the ball was off of him instead of the opponent as the ref called (of course Silsbee was up by about 30 at the time). Do you think the official changed the call? Of course not. To be fair, I’m sure that was the first and only time the ref had ever had a kid do that and had no clue how to handle it.
  19. Couldn’t have been two worse results for resale. Washington didn’t even sell their allotment to the semifinal.
  20. Gotcha. I saw a different explanation but calls are a part of the game anyway. And definitely agree he should have just kicked the PAT after the penalty. I love the way he coaches (much more than our guy) but I didn’t get that at all.
  21. In other news, glad Georgia “cared” this year, unlike when the Longhorns handed them their behinds in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago. Probably because there was so much more on the line this time…
  22. [Hidden Content]
  23. Ok, I’m a lifelong Cowboy fan but the end of that game was a travesty. Dan Campbell might be my favorite coach in the league now (even if he is a durn aggy) and he and his team got robbed (although why he went for 2 again was pretty baffling). The average NFL referee salary is north of $200k. There has to be some accountability for them blowing calls like this. Especially in that moment.
  24. [Hidden Content] Refreshing. Also probably helps when you are the third future NFL QB in your family, and virtually guaranteed to get first round money. And I guess making your own millions while being the most popular kid on campus is probably pretty cool too lol
  25. Yeah but his baggage is legal now basically. They’ve just legalized what a TON of programs were doing but the Tigers got busted for. Rumor has it a former employer would like him back. I would think in 90 percent of places that just wouldn’t be feasible but LSU has always had a healthy (or unhealthy depending on perspective) amount of not giving a rip.
