  1. Anderson is a player. Simpson is a physically intimidating but put a body on him and he’s pretty much a roll player. I’m much more concerned with 6-9 Sammie Freeman. He for sure needs to feel that PA physicality or he can kill you on the glass.
  2. That’s hard to beat
  3. I think Texas will have a play in game as an 11 or 12. They don’t have sports bars on those ships?
  4. So I watched the game and listened to Mike. It kind of felt like normal with Mike telling me what was going to happen before I saw it happen. Kind of like his predictions...
  5. Coleman has done an incredible job with this team. He has coached them to their strengths, and has subbed (or not subbed) superbly. He deserves a lot of credit in this run.
  6. chatman doing a great job on the defensive boards. Has to be closing in on double digits in rebounds. Archie has to be close to double digits in turnovers.
  7. He is absolutely giving Archie the business. Tylenol may not be strong enough after this one.
  8. Very physical game which plays right into Memorial’s hands. Doesn’t hurt that Wesley has caught fire either.
  9. I was hoping Coleman would match Valsin up with Archie and he did. I can promise you he hasn’t had a more physical defender vs any of those DFW schools. Jomard is a dog!
  10. File this under the worst kept secret in SETX. I think he has to take it if he wants to continue for awhile.
  11. It’s tough to get a stop when the other team has to go the length of the court in 4 seconds.
  12. Another gutsy win. We probably have 4, maybe 5 kids (if you count Young) who should be getting serious minutes at this level out of the 7 man rotation. Sure would be nice for Bamba to be back.
  13. Meh, shows you how weak that conference is...
  14. OU stacks up better than aggy, not surprisingly, although their baseball is pretty weak too. Football - AP or Lee Roy Selmon Basketball - Blake Griffin (Wayman Tisdale and Mookie Blaylock were great college players and decent prizes) Baseball - Either Bobby Witt or go to the golden era with Lindy McDaniel. Neither spectacular but pretty weak field to choose from.
  15. UCLA comes to mind: 1. Football - Troy Aikman/Jonathan Ogden 2. Basketball - Kareem 3. Baseball - Jackie Robinson
  16. An old friend of mine, Jodey Arrington, paying tribute to Rev. Graham on the floor of Congress. A lot of truth and wisdom in his words from a “young” congressman (relatively young anyway). He’s new to Washington and although I’m biased, I’ve been very proud of him. Hope the link works. [Hidden Content]
  17. That was a nice one. I also saw a put back over McCain by Serialle where Mitch picked up a foul. In defense of Yates, I wasn’t crazy about that call.
  18. I forget McCain’s exact quote with Danny but it something like - they like to play fast and we like to play fast. We just did it better. Thought the kid hit the nail on the head. Except I would have said they “do” it better. This tiger team isn’t unbeatable. But it’s going to be really hard beating them at their own game. In fact, a team like Argyle would scare me a lot more than Yates against Silsbee.
  19. Interesting to see him recognize Mitch as his best player, which I personally agree with. However, I would try and get my best player more looks than alley oops off steals or offensive rebound put backs. In the several times I saw Yates play, that was his primary involvement or uninvolvement on the offensive end. Mitch or no Mitch, I personally don’t believe this silsbee team would be denied. Likely would have been closer though, that I will concede.
  20. I actually probably like this scene better. But I chose to post the iconic scene. Well, the one you posted and this one: [Hidden Content] ”well what the h&$$ you think you look like shootin’ them chili peppers up Lee Janzen’s a&&??” (Insert crying/laughing face)
  21. Celtics outplayed the Rockets for 45 minutes tonight. I was fortunate to have great seats for the game and was very impressed at where we are. I think we have a great shot at getting to the finals this year. And you are right. We are ahead of schedule. Was there with an Indiana buddy of mine and if we can sneak into the lottery with the Lakers pick (if it’s drawn between 2-5) and can get a rim protector in Ayton or Bamba, look out.
  22. Well, the two teams I thought were the most intriguing in 5A going into SA are meeting in the semis. (I know Northwest is ranked #2.). Midlothian probably has the best player in the 5A bracket left in Kaden Archie. But I love the depth and dog in this Titans team. This is going to be a don’t miss matchup on Thursday at 7 pm.
