  1. I agree on Falls. Wagner may have been the second best team there. Agree on Memorial as well. I think we have two teams (at least) who will be regional favorites at least with them and Silsbee. I am anxious see EC up close and personal next week to see what the Bucs look like this year.
  2. Thanks a lot chuk! Every time someone mentions King Cotton, I get on iBooks again, only to find out they still don’t have it available. What is wrong with these people?!?!
  3. Same “shooting” trainer has worked with Knox Hellums (Pepperdine) & Pierce Hellums, and Miller Kopp & Anderson Kopp. His dad was behind me during the Yates game. Told him his son must be good at what he does. Anderson Kopp is easily a better shooter than his older brother as well.
  4. Don’t get this at all for Florida State. I think he could be very good at A&M though.
  5. If it was USC, it would be a done deal. An astute Joel Klatt brought up an interesting point today, Kelly is very close with Phil Knight. While UA desperately wants him at their new flagship school, it may work against UCLA. I would be leery if I was Florida as well because as soon as SC figures out Helton needs to go, Kelly will be feeling the pull of the West Coast. My bet is Florida for now but we’ll see.
  6. I was planning on going until Georgetown pulled out. Planning on enjoying it over the weekend though.
  7. I was coming here for the express purpose of posting this. Cmon now! Charlie Rose now??? What the heck is this world coming to???? Even the nerdy, asexual-looking goobers are harassing women. Who’s next - Stephen Hawking???? I give up. Everyone’s a pervert. Except REBgp. He’s too dang old to be a pervert.
  8. Your opinion is correct. Saw only the first quarter but about half a dozen 3PA were “bad looks.” Got no problem with Silsbee shooters taking open shots, 3s or not but no reason to force one. All in all, my takeaway from today is Silsbee is still the prohibitive favorite to win Region 3. They will get tested along the way but at full strength, they should be the best 4A team in the region. But they have to put in the work and play as a team to finish there.
  9. Tough also playing a shooting team without your normal depth advantage. Normally the 4Q would heavily favor the Tigers.
  10. I got there too early and fizzled out as usual. I never make it thru the late game at this thing. Pappasitas was calling my name.
  11. I don’t think there was a substitution in the first period. Have to say super impressed with Landyn Tyler. Does a lot of things really well and doesn’t force the issue. Really like his game.
  12. No doubt. I was impressed with the win over CFLC but heard earlier that they also have a win over Prestonwood. And let me settle the debate. Pierce Hellums might be the best shooter in the state. I don’t think he missed a shot in warm ups and not sure if any touched the rim. That kid can light it up.
  13. Concordia is 17-0 going into this game. How the heck can you have already played 17 games? Pretty big advantage over UiL schools.
  14. Does Yates have as many players on their football team as they do in hoops? They have to bring their own chairs to some gyms.
  15. Yates will struggle against any team with above average guard play. You don’t turn it over, they’re in trouble. The back end of that press (like most) is soft as Charmin. Helps when you have a finisher on that backend like Kopp though too.
  16. Never mind. It’s the same Yates. Press and take the first semi-open shot.
  17. I will say this watching warm ups. Silsbee will have their hands full in the region. Yates LOOKS like a basketball team. Let’s see how they look against a talented Houston Christian team.
  18. Not impressed with Tompkins with the exception of Bieniemy. Westlake is not as good as either of the teams in the game before. Nice size but no guard play.
  19. Understandable. It’s pretty full now with the home team up next vs Yates.
  20. Not sure how Westlake is ranked above the defending champs who returned everyone. I guess we’re about to see how good they are. Tompkins is deeply talented but one of those teams that seems to have trouble putting it together.
  21. Still some seats left. Not many. Bout to see some high D1s in this next game too. Sitting with the A&M staff in honor of my buddy AAW.
  22. Falls 54 Wagner 41 End 3 Big quarter for the big man, DJ Weaver. Falls is very, very good.
  23. These two PGs are fun to watch. ULL has a heckuva recruiting class coming next year. I’m gonna have to catch a few of their games. Tra Wesley can play.
