I don’t think anyone is arguing that the Big 12 is a good conference this year. Like I said yesterday, Texas is only being seriously considered for a playoff spot right now because they won by double digits in Tuscaloosa.

And they arguably played the toughest schedule in the country.  But that doesn’t jive with platitudes like, the SEC is the best!

I'm not here to defend Mack. I don't agree with his takes sometimes.

In this particular thread, it was Texas fans that brought A&M up in discussion.

Call me names all you want. My family has always been Aggies. Several have attended, including my wife.

Kinda like you have those WO-S ties. 😉

But I have been here long enough to see who really spews the hate.

I don’t agree with the term. That’s an aggy term.  And not one Mack came up with either.  I believe anyone has the right to root on who they want and are just as valid a fan as an alum.   It’s aggy nation who apparently believes people shouldn’t root for Texas unless they went there.

Edit:  I will take it a step further.  It’s one of the dumbest terms in all of sports.  I apologize for using it to make a point.

Didn't say it wasn't. I have been very disappointed.

But that's not my point.

It seems some just can't help themselves. Got to always take their shot even when it's not relevant to the topic.

BTW, I am not of the opinion that the Big 12 is trash. I do believe the SEC is better. Glad we are there.

Cry me a river.  Would you like me to highlight the posts by whom that instigates these “shots.”  You are a “t shirt fan” (as Mack likes to call such folks) of a school that’s identity is based on taking shots against another school.  You guys just make it abundantly easy to counter punch.

Said this for years.  They went from having a shot of winning the big 12 and a chance at a possible playoff to what they are now.

Meh, they were very mediocre in the Big 12 as well.  Usually middle to lower middle of the pack.  They are the best in the business at doing less with more.

Since everything is a trash conference compared to the sec, should that even be an argument? Lmao

Since we are all fishing….matchups, common opponents, who beat who….yada, yada, yada….how about this:

Had Texas gotten one more 1st down, they could have taken a knee, beat Oklahoma, and end up undefeated. Oh yeah, here comes that trash conference again. Won’t be an argument next year. I’ll be waiting on that excuse.

BTW, why does a team’s injured QB have anything to do with discussions. My teams never get consideration when that happens (Colt McCoy ring a bell ?)

It is widely beloved among the pundits that had that happened, Texas would have been the 1 seed.

for what it’s worth, if they do leave it out FSU and put in Bama, Texas will be favored against Washington.  This scares me a bit because people have underestimated the Huskies all season.  But IF that’s the case and IF Texas were to win that game, it would set up either a rematch against Bama OR a Texas/Michigan matchup.  Either way, two top 5 all time programs playing in Houston for all the marbles.  Talk about printing money.  It’s also a network’s opposite of dry dream.

Texas’s best argument is they won a trash conference and lost against the only decent team in the conference.  They did beat Bama in week 2 who was going through a QB controversy.

I could argue the same for all the 7 teams.  This is the first year that the playoff didn’t work itself out.  A few teams are getting screwed.

Incorrect.  This is their best argument

This is the hidden content, please

Bama is playing way better. I was super impressed with them winning on a P for K against the powerhouse Auburn team that got boat raced by a team that was FCS a couple of years ago the week before.  And you do realize Georgia’s best win is also FSU’s best win? Texas also did what none of you SEC chumps could do.  Win in Tuscaloosa (by 2 scores no less).  But, but it was week 2 is the weak argument of someone who hangs banners for being undefeated against Abilene Christian and Texas State the last few years….

Your someone that knows someone doesn’t know anything.  A lot of stuff going down between now and noon tomorrow.

we shall see.  But I’m willing to be a large sum of money on two things. Georgia is out and Texas is in.  Not “pay another awful hire NOT to coach” amount of money but an amount you wouldn’t be willing to risk 😂😂

Will they choose the four best ... or most deserving? "It is best," CFP executive director Bill Hancock said on Tuesday. "Most deserving is not anything in the committee's lexicon. They are to rank the best teams in order, and that's what they do. Just keep that word in mind, best teams."

based on this statement (which we all know the committee plays by no rules and does whatever the heck they want), FSU is out.  But also based on that statement, Georgia should probably be in.  I can see them using this standard to leave FSU out, but not to put Georgia in.  only one SEC team makes it, and Bama won the SEC by beating Georgia.  You can’t put Georgia in after Bama just beat them, but I don’t see them leaving the best conference out of the playoffs when they have two 1-loss teams with those losses being to two teams in the playoff discussion.

Georgia isn’t even in the discussion.  There’s a reason you can get 12 to 1 on them still getting in. Because it ain’t happening.

I had to watch the Horns, as well.  Just hope that SEC bias doesn’t rear its head one more time.

I couldn't miss it either... We need Florida St. to lose tonight and we will get in the playoffs.  Right now it's still 0-0 in the 2nd.

Word I’m getting is barring Iowa getting 6 safeties and beating Michigan, 1-3 is already set (Michigan, Washington and Texas in that order).  4 is Bama or FSU.  Bama for sure if FSU loses obviously.

10. And I will say though that we are greatly enjoying the eldest Connell in Orangefield.  I sat behind the bench recently during a varsity game.  He’s gonna be a really good one. But he needs to stay with boys basketball anyway.  He will keep that nice head of hair longer.  (I promise that wasn’t a dig on you Manny!)

11. Word is 4th seed will be either Bama or FSU.  Could be Bama in any event but need Noles to lose to make it for sure.  Michigan, Washington, and Texas penned in 1-3.  Georgia is out.  They lost their only really tough game of the year.  Their schedule strength is lower than anyone’s left. Buh bye.

Michigan, Washington, Texas, Alabama.

A lot of experts agree with you, especially if FSU loses.  In that order.  Apparently, Alabama may be needing to root hard for Louisville more than anyone.

and I gotta say, SEC may be a bit overrated this year.  New Mexico State certainly thinks so.
