  1. Body language was terrible tonight. The “MVP” completely mailed in his 9th inning AB too. Day off might help. Verlander needs to bring in Game 6. CC is due for a poor outing if Stros can get to Game 7.
  2. Yeah, UTfan. Don’t you know FS1 is an awful channel that is hard for extremely slow people to find? Fox’s version of ESPN apparently hasn’t made it to those “challenged” fans. A shame too. They’re missing a lot of good MLB playoff games!!
  3. Can’t beat the Yankees playing from behind. Their bullpen is sick.
  4. Mack is such a sad little tool box. Always obsessed with all things Texas.
  5. Agreed. And you don’t trot Musgrove out there for the 8th either. Once you make the first mistake, go with either Gregorson or Giles in the 8th. Bringing Giles in with 2nd and 3rd with no outs was pretty brutal. He looked rattled from the get go. Missing his spots badly.
  6. If Yankees win this series, it will be because of Giles. Lidge 2.0. Bad managing job today too.
  7. I thought the same thing when he said Wisconsin. They have been consistently good, sometimes really good. That is a great example and one Nebraska could follow. I hope they do. I’ve said it many times but they have some of the best fans in college football, if not the best.
  8. I don’t know anything other than Texas has a medical staff who took over after the play. He might well have been concussed, I certainly assumed so when he was sitting there. Coaches have to rely on folks with medical training to report to them on injuries and clearance, whether it’s head, knee, shoulder, etc. For a player to be allowed to play in this instance, he has to pass concussion protocol. I did enjoy the attention “TAMU Highlights” gave to this issue. I was especially amused by the gomer who tagged every reporter, NCAA exec, and anyone else he thought would wag their finger. As a Texas guy, I found it hilarious. If I were an aggy, I would have been saddened/embarrassed for him. I doubt many did, as it was about as aggy as one can get, and is generally celebrated in gomerland.
  9. Leach is one of my favorite coaches but he can be an acquired taste. He’s more than a bit of a renegade and would be a tough fit at a lot of blue blood programs. GCM would be better to comment on how he would fit in Lincoln. I think he’d be a heckuva hire on many levels personally.
  10. Tough to judge the offense when you are down to second and even third string guys starting on the o line. I think we have had 4 guys that are out and won’t return this year. It all starts there and while they’ve improved, it’s still be a tough hurdle to overcome.
  11. I am not defending anyone. The medical staff put him through concussion protocol and cleared him to go back in. I’m pretty sure that, unlike you, Herman doesn’t have a medical degree or license. Oh wait, neither do you. But the source you posted is pretty hilarious and telling. Glad you Gomers have moved on lmao
  12. “My head hit the ground pretty hard,” Ehlinger said. “And they were just taking precaution. I told them immediately I could go back in. I felt fine.” Herman said he thought about sticking with Buechele, but Ehlinger had been medically cleared. Ehlinger said team physician James Bray asked him to count backward by sevens starting at 100. “I think when guy’s played three and a half quarters and is in the rhythm that he’s in, if he’s cleared, you’re going to put him back in the ballgame,” Herman said. That drive ended with a turnover on downs. UT got the ball one final time with 49 seconds remaining on its own 4-yard line. Ehlinger couldn’t assemble a 96-yard touchdown drive, and the Sooners captured a 29-24 win.
  13. I have yet to be impressed with him since he’s been there. Hill has come around and Elliott is a future NFL’er. But Boyd is a guy who seems to have the tools but has never adapted to the next level.
  14. I thought you guys were “running this state” when our last coach was at the helm? But seriously, you’re a smart guy and I think you’ve seen some of the games this year. The level of play and effort has been at another level. Texas is on the right track for Herman, and I have a hunch there will be some I told you so’s coming sooner rather than later (much like the “no chance” fun I had on this board not long ago).
  15. He is being recruited as an “athlete.” But as stated in another thread, both his future coach Chad Morris and Kliff Kingsbury believe he has the tools to play QB at the next level. I think both of those guys know a little something about that position. Doesn’t matter if he’s as good as Roschon (and few are), he’s apparentlu good enough to get a free education that’s would cost us between $280k-$350k. That’s pretty good to me.
  16. If Chip Kelly gets back into the college game, it will be at Tennessee. Unless something crazy develops at USC...
  17. The UCLA game aside, this year might be his best coaching job. I realize November still looms but the schedule is very manageable and the SEC is not at its best this year. We found out today that Auburn isn’t very good. There honestly isn’t a unwinnable game left on the schedule. And with a freshman QB who greatly struggled early, that would be a hell of a season.
  18. [Hidden Content] and Troy only lost to first-year program South Alabama 19-8
  19. 2 pt conversion fails. 29-24 land thieves.
  20. And now he takes one in!!! 24-23 Texas!
