No doubt about it, in my mind anyway. Probably the greatest motion offense coach of all time. And one of the best man defensive coaches. Along with Mike Leach, one of my two favorite coaches of all time at the college level.

East Chambers at Orangefield Who ya got?

On a Friday it’s K-Dan’s hands down. Bullfish is pretty good too. That might be the better option tonight if it’s not too busy. -

Oh wow. Didn’t realize it was a Thursday game. Yeah you would like their Friday set up. One of the better values around actually, I think for 3 pieces of catfish, 6 shrimp, fries, 2 sides and roll or cornbread is like 12 or 13 bucks. It’s really good stuff too. -

Good choice. That shrimp and fish on Friday is pretty dang good. -

1000%. I will put him up there with anyone. He can flat out coach. There’s no one’s teams I enjoy watching more than his.

The Ohio St - Penn St game was almost unwatchable. I won’t be tuning in again until the Big Game.

I don’t know what analytics say to not kick it to make it a 3 score game late in the 3rd quarter. Two possessions in a row inside the 10 with zero points can be demoralizing to the defense. That being said, a win is a win and the loss by our biggest rival is even sweeter. The trail of tears in Oklahoma tomorrow when they drop below Texas will be delicious.

I sure wish Sark would realize you can kick chip shot FGs. They add up.

You can’t make this stuff up

LCM, Jasper, WOS, now Bridge City. And one particular school is the constant. Maybe they need a little less “smoke” there.

Impossible even if they knew it was coming.

There are also not an insignificant amount of Lumberton kids in private schools as well. Not sure how many but I know 2 or 3 families and I don’t know a ton of Lumberton people in general. I do agree that the growth is probably delayed because the families who move there with young children will let them go to LISD. The ones who moved when their kids were teenagers weren’t going to make them lose their Beaumont private school classmates. Next cycle should be interesting.

TABC State Rankings 2023-24/Feb. 19

Always tough to compare a 2 to a 4 but I would agree its fairly close, especially for HS players. I tend to prefer to put my stock in the guy who starts with the ball in his hands at all levels. And while Chris will end up being a high major kid, he won't have as wide a choice as Jared had. Does that mean much come playoff time when they are playing for championships? Not really. I expect Silsbee's road will include BTW along the way again, and hopefully this time with a better result. Still going to be interesting to see what the roster will look like. -
Bold season predictions for 2023-2024

In 22-3A, I tend to agree with your top 3 (and maybe 4). But why is Buna so low? Do they really not have much this year? -

I assumed it was Crockett because he was talking about how wild it is that they are ranked. I was actually impressed with where they ranked Kountze because it showed they actually did some homework past last season’s results. They should be highest ranked team in district and maybe only the ones with EC. -

That is strange. Did McDermott transfer? He’s easily the second best player in the region behind Jared and honestly BTW will be better on some nights than last year with addition by subtraction (I.e., those nights when Lewis couldn’t hit the broad side of the barn - he was going to put up his 20 shots whether he was on or not). -

These things have always been based more on the previous season than the upcoming one for some reason. I would give the coaches a hard time but the college coaches are just as bad or worse. -
Really was. And Brooks is way more talented that I realized. Happy for him, especially after patiently waiting his turn behind Bijan and Roschon. Most kids in this day and age would have hit the portal after the first year.

It should because that’s probably my favorite play of his and I’m god awful at picking games. I also really liked his Penn State game.

My wife and her whole family graduated from there. My office is in the district and I pay taxes there. So I have more connections to the stangs than you do to your handle, “Aggies”AreWe. Any more questions I can help you with sport?
