  1. Bingo. The cheap bastards really deserve what they are getting. How much cheaper would a couple grand in vouchers and a couple of free flights to Hawaii have been vs what they are going through now? Greed can be crippling, which is what is dripping all over this story.
  2. Mack is the best Longhorn poster on this board. Every time I get a little down on the state of one of our programs, I remember little aggy and Mack is the epitome of the stereotype. Can't seem to break away no matter how hard he tries. The obsession is just a big part of who they are. They will always, no matter how far or how hard they run, be our special little brothers. Gotta love those goofy little bastards
  3. Stumblin around like Sumblin on any given God-forsaken night in that dump he's trapped in...
  4. Coleman putting the full court press on Mohamed Bomba. If Shaka lands him out of nowhere, major coup.
  5. He is an Orangefield guy. He was basically retired and came back to help teach. He's now probably the best Jr High coach in the area. He's had some health issues so I don't think he has any interest in a head job. Just loves the game and the kids. I know he's perfectly content in what he's doing.
  6. Zach Quinn absolutely knows his stuff. But he's not giving up HS principal to coach.
  7. Ray Montagne. Was a very successful HC at LCM. Our Lincoln faithful will remember him too. When he was coaching freshmen at OF, many thought he was the best coach at the HS. I think you know more than you let on
  8. I'm married to one. And you are 100% correct. People that choose to teach at Orangefield do so for reasons other than pay.
  9. You are correct on the reason for his decision. Newly married, and then a little one on the way - he and his wife wanted to be closer to his family. In speaking with various friends around 22-4A who really understand the game, I wasn't surprised when I consistently heard how well the Bobcats were coached this year. He did a tremendous job. It's not easy taking over in a situation where you are trying to change a "culture; you really need your seniors to buy in and not make it more difficult. In my opinion after watching the program for many years now, Hardy reminded me of Nathan Toon, the coach who had the most success at OF in that time, and has had a successful career since. I fully expect you will see the same with Sunny. I always find it interesting that you not only can tell the obvious (like who can spell) by reading these boards, you also can ascertain who knows the game of basketball. Whoever they hire coming in, he will immediately inherit the deepest senior class OF will have for several years to come. And if you buy into the Little Dribblers correlation, it also the group that made the deepest run at Nationals of any boys team in history of that program at Orangefield.
  10. He could be very good for the Jacks. Like really good. Not sure where he is on qualifying, etc. Talent-wise, could have been a high D1
  11. Saw him all summer last year and a couple of games in the YMBL.
  12. I saw a few weeks ago the area leaders in track & field. I remember specifically looking at an impressive time from a young man from West Brook in the 100m and thinking, that's gonna change when Silsbee finishes playing basketball. I read this morning where Kaylon Barnes broke his dad's school record (of 10.4s) by running a 10.1. That is blazing! Congrats Kaylon!
  13. Just when I thought venturing to Arkansas couldn't become less desirable...
  14. Hell, if I had known @Englebert wasn't entering, I might have filled out a bracket. I might have had a chance. But actually I wouldn't because I would have probably picked Duke to win it all and would have been done the first weekend
  15. You guys keep Roshon healthy in purple the next couple of years. Looking forward to seeing him in burnt orange after that. Great post by the way.
  16. Davis would be crazy to leave. He probably wouldn't get drafted. He will be back. I really believe Caldwell is the truth. Supposedly one of the main reasons Williams is coming back is he wants a chance to play with him. And I know for a fact that was the deciding factor in Flagg signing with the Ags.
  17. [Hidden Content] i was told last Tuesday by an Aggie player that Williams was coming back. I didn't really believe him, thought he was being overly optimistic. You don't come back when you are a virtual lock for the lottery. I was wrong. A&M could be scary good next season.
  18. I saw his jersey and wondered if it was during the championship game. At a lot of schools, you would just keep using it unless you wanted to change numbers. And it was at the V of the neck and wasn't awful. I thought he might have been playing with it for a while because I only caught the tail end of their semifinal game, right about the time he fouled out.
