  1. I can recommend Chad Morris though. He might take the LSU job while he waits for the aggy one to open up. Will be a good audition for the aggy job so they can see if his style will work in the SEC.
  2. Haha! Jimbo said no thanks. Lemme see, sunny Florida or Loseriana? I'll take Florida. Better lock up Big O while you can...
  3. I got skill no-look! Been washing Nash's fleet for years...
  4. I haven't seen the other kid yet but Jamyus Jones is the best individual player I've seen in that district and I've seen all of Evadale's. That being said, Evadale is way deeper than SP and will be the favorite to win the district.
  5. Yeah he was top 10ish in most before missing all the time with injuries. I didn't know he was ever #1. The kid that is, DeAndre Ayton, is a legit 7 footer (with a grown man build) who does it all. Read somewhere before last season that he would be the #1 pick in the draft that year if he could come out.
  6. Yeah, he gets played out of position. As is not uncommon when you are 6-7 playing at a small school, he gets stuck with his back to the basket most of the time. He's actually a wing/swingman. That kid can jump out of the gym but he shoots the 3 ball at a high percentage and his midrange game is outstanding.
  7. Yes, Max Evans (#1) is a Vanderbilt signee and has gotten off to a monster start. He was probably the 2nd best player in the gym today behind Jarred Vanderbilt (who won't sign with Vanderbilt ironically). But I agree, they don't have near enough depth to compete with Silsbee. I don't know that they would beat Houston Christian for that matter.
  8. Me either. I've said several times it no easy task managing that kind of depth and Sigler does as well doing it as I have seen. He does mix it up while doing it (like tonight) and doesn't necessarily play even minutes (which i also like). By the way, to clarify, the discussion I missed about GLV wasn't that they had too many good players. Apparently someone was saying they have too many kids who need the ball in their hands to be effective. Having watched their second game against VP I can see what they were talking about. And that's not an uncommon problem at all levels. Which brings me back to Silsbee and maybe their most impressive trait as a team - everyone seems to know and accept their role. And again, to me, that's no small credit to their coaching...
  9. Ok, was just told the last comment was made by my FB friend when discussing GLV. Wasn't about either of the two teams playing at the time.
  10. I didn't hear the first thing (if it was said, it wasn't about silsbee). I heard the second but I think that person was talking about HC (his kid played there and isn't a big fan of the coach). And there was a lot of discussion about the different groups. To be honest, there was a significant drop off today after the first 5. If you noticed, every time HC made a run, it was while the first 5 was on the bench. In their biggest run (11-0), the HC coach called a timeout when they cut it to 1 and Sigler had his first group at the scorer's table waiting to check in. Having said that, still a huge advantage for the Tigers because they wore HC out constantly throwing "fresh legs" at them. Eventually, it helped them blow the game open. And to be honest, more times than not, their second 5 will be significantly better than the other team's first 5. Just wasn't the case today.
  11. I think so. Only one guy was from Beaumont though. Rest were Houston guys.
  12. Yates vs Tulsa Central next heading out. This one should be a blood bath.
  13. Disclaimer. I did not see any games before the Silsbee game but I've seen Bellaire and they beat LaMarque today. Silsbee would be a double digit favorite over Bellaire.
  14. Silsbee and as my FB buddy said, it's not really close.
  15. This game is tightening up. 44-41 Atascocita 3:19 left.
  16. How come when I read Nash's posts I hear Mike Tyson's voice in my head?
  17. Ok, just had a Fort Bend guy tell me there was no question about it. Silsbee by far the best team he's seen today. Making sure it wasn't maroon colored glasses I was wearing.
  18. Really curious to see how Silsbee competes in the FB tournament this year. I don't know if I'm biased but they impressed me more than either of these 6A teams.
  19. Atascocita 31 Travis 23 H Difference in this one has been the 10-0 run in the last 2 minutes of the 1st. Other than that it's been an even competitive game.
  20. Atascocita closes the 1st Q with a 10-0 run to take a 19-11 lead after 1.
  21. Difference is I don't think Wheeler dished one time going to the hole. If Devon had his minutes and shot attempts, he would have scored 40-50.
