Bears get the winner of Center/Hamshire Fannett if they win this one.
They could realistically make it to the 4th round.
Exactly. I kind of like them to make the regional tournament if they beat Bullard. Bullard has a good squad but if the Bears play the way they have at the end of the season, it’s winnable.

I’m sure most of us have seen something like this before. No I haven’t fact checked but unfortunately it’s not even surprising anymore. And we wonder how this country has devolved…

Was caught doing something and his parents took him off the team.
That makes a lot more sense. His old man does not play.

You are correct in that he is out due to injury.
I'm being told if he wasn't injured any longer he still would not be playing for Manvel.
Just going by what folks have told me that are pretty connected.
Maybe so but would be shocking for that kid.

I'm being told it was more than an injury.
There is a reason why he was not sitting on the bench with the team in the game vs. PN-G.
He hasn’t been playing because of an injury. Why he wasn’t on the bench may have been something else. Great kid from a great family. Honor student. He may have gotten into some kind of trouble but he would be the last kid you would expect that from. But I know for a fact the reason he has missed the last few games was due to an injury and could post what the injury is but I won’t.

Not sure. I figured that was the reason why Friendswood beat em to end the regular season cause he wasn't there.

Bears looked great tonight. Focused were running the other teams plays for them. Beating them to spots and hitting open shots. Going to be tough to beat them when they play like that!!
Next round is a big one. Get by Bullard and I think they have a great shot at regionals.

68-54, down goes #3 Purdue again. They've lost 3 of their last 4 I believe.
With #1 Bama losing last night I think it's safe to say UofH will be back as #1 come Monday morning.
Yep. And honestly, the Coogs are probably the best team I’ve seen this season. Plus Mattress Mack bet on them to win it all so that have that going for them. Which is nice.

He has put up 40 x 2. And has averaged 30. And he as a sophomore led Kountze to be the only district team to beat EC, was in EC and hit the game winner. And w/o Sells , Kountze would not be in a play in game , or close. Only starter from last year and leads a non senior team.
I think Kountze would be affected the most without Sells, then OF without Ragusa, then Perrault. But with the other two being seniors, Sells will be the favorite the next two years.

I may have to catch this play in game. I remember the when they had a rubber match two times in three years but at the top of the district. But regardless, usually a fun matchup.

This game was closer than the final score .Great atmosphere ,full house with two pretty solid teams.
Is it ever not a great atmosphere there? I have been to absolute beat downs there and the gym was still rocking.

My grandson is on the seventh grade team and they only lost one game this year and that was to a 5A school. On another note, someone posted on another thread that EC has a lot of move ins, transfers or whatever. I don’t believe that to be true, see Winnie is like Newton and WOS. Nobody moves out, I recognize last names from 42 years ago. 🤣🤣🤣
You would recognize a few of them from Beaumont too 😂😂

Congrats to the Hawks and Coach Davis on yet another district championship.

There are always exceptions. I usually refer to the norm.
For sure. I always just think of that exception. And it really is the team photo. As funny as you might imagine it looks, it’s even funnier. Can’t believe I can’t find it anymore.

Bad teams don't usually have many with accolades.. because more times than not, if they truly had good players then they would've won more games.
Not arguing your point but Tyrone Swoopes’ team went 1-9 his senior year and he had an Alabama offer. I tried to find it but couldn’t but he may have been the funniest high school team photo ever. If you have seen it, you know.

I was there. Officiating was not good. But it wasn't good for both teams. Several non calls went both ways.
Foul count was 14 for each team.
BC went to the FT line 15 times (12/15)
Jasper was 9/17 from FT line
Other stats
BC was 9/34 from 3 point
Jasper was 3/17 from 3 point
Jasper out rebounded BC 44-29 (25-14 in 2nd half)
BC turned it over 22 times (3 in last minute of the game)
Jasper had 23 turnovers
I think these two teams would split 5-5 if they played 10 times.
So as I originally surmised, “fair fight.”

Maybe not as fair fight as you might think. Very good Jasper team but no doubt if you watched the game, BC took some bad breaks from the refs late. Jasper capitalized on those opportunities. BC had many chances to change the outcome with some missed shots early but wow what craziness at the end. I hope we get a chance to play again in a neutral site with neutral chapter refs. Jasper has talent no doubt but anyone that watched that game to say BC not in the conversation just not being honest. This district is just tough it's crazy..
Did not watch the game. However, any game I watch in SETX, I go in expecting the officiating to be incompetent at best.

Seems much improved. And I still think Elliott is the best player the Bears have had since Jason Throop.
