Good to see we are still in those domes over there. I wonder how many chanting kept their rejection letter to "tu" though??
-
That's about what I heard. And yes, early games are not the best for crowd involvement, especially against a UTSA type.

I can tell you the powers that be breathed a huge sigh of relief they didn't meet Briles' demands and hire him 3 years ago. As bad as it's been, that would have been an unmitigated nightmare. The only place he has a chance of landing at a Power 5 would be the SEC. And he's probably going to have to take another job in between so even those schools can get a little "buffer" before selling their souls further to the devil.

I heard that. That was a polite 100k+ bunch. Very considerate to keep any talking to a whisper for those of us watching on tv. Of course, there was as much chance there was 100k at that game as at Memorial's game yesterday. You know, "zero chance". I'm not sure how many you think were actually there but I heard best guess was between 80 and 85k...

OT is one of the most reasonable, and honestly insightful posters on this or most any board, especially for an Aggie. But of course, he's just a "t shirt" Aggie (which is a vile, dirty word among the ring wearing Gomers), so according to them he's not really an Aggie. So maybe that explains it?

Just remember Sumblin. Sorry S - U - M - L - I - N. You don't have to be able to get Into UT to remember 6 little letters. You can tell them about the great winning percentage despite being in the SEC (leave out the cupcake schedules - they don't need to know that). Tell them about the glorious Septembers. Tell them about the awesomeness of the 12th Man and that you aggys never really lose, you just run out of time (especially back when you had to play daddy Longhorns). I know it hurts, Sport. It hurts real bad. But all will better soon. Well, probably going to be the same as it always was cause you chose Gomer. And,,,wait for it,,,, you DO get to go bowling again!! That's gotta be worth something right?!?!?!?! -

We all know aggy is a leader in civil rights movements. But you Gomers should worry less about what big brother is doing and more about locking Sumblin up for another 5 years or so before one of those NFL teams finally comes calling! -
Good question. I think he was out of timeouts but I didn't see what he was doing if anything on the sidelines. They were already in field goal range and lining up for one. I would have been at midfield raising hell and let them flag me for half the distance.
-
I agree with you. But for me, that would have been the best case scenario. Bowl eligible and he's gone. Not for the bowl but for the month of extra practice, and quite possibly with the new coach. But when it came down to the wire with a 1-9 team, you're right about his fate being sealed.

I thought the same thing. Are we missing something? How is that not even reviewed?? Going to have to get the officiating expert John Kimbrough to explain that one to me.

So apparently the plan is the TCU game will be his swan song. -
Don't act like Cajun U wasn't interested. But unlike you, the powers that be know they can't win a race with Daddy to the west. So don't go driving the price up. Stay in your lane...

It IS all speculation. Until it is announced of course
-
Agree with all of that. Maybe even the Monday part. It's been done though and apparently the leaks may force the official announcement earlier than Monday.

No comment. Taking a little longer than I originally thought to surface. -

He will be back. Guaranteed. 25 million in buyout and support of that great administration. 50/50 though on an extension after the big win today over UT. Well UTSA but still banner worthy in aggy land since it starts with UT... -

Reports surfacing that Texas has decided to part ways with Charlie. -
Their body language was horrible BEFORE the OT. For a bunch of kids who supposedly wanted to save the coach they loved, they sure didn't act like or play like it. I know you like Charlie but they just lost to Kansas. Kansas. There are a lot of places Charlie may be able to coach and do well. As has become more and more apparent, Texas is too big for him.
-
Didn't even make the trip. He's been out since last week's concussion.
-
Damn right! Here comes Hermann! Meanwhile, you guys keep enjoying that prosperity under Stumblin Sumblin! I know it's a great day for aggy football!
-
And thus ends the Charlie Strong era of Longhorn football. Welcome to the 40 acres Tom Hermann!
-
Word is they may end up with Jarrett Stidham. Immensely talented but somewhat of a head case. Sounds like a fit.

The "if" is not the problem if we want him and act before he bolts somewhere else. He's made no secret among his confidant's that UT is the job he most covets. -
That 12th man is really something. Sounds almost as loud as a Thursday night MAC game. Also looks like you guys could use one of Baylor's tarps. The "greatest fan base on earth" has mailed it in at 7-3?

I know both kids have probably been working their tails off. It is not uncommon for teams to struggle with PATs when they don't have an experienced kicker. Not many small schools have a coach that is a kicking coach. It is frustrating. However, a lot of the metrics guys think, especially at the high school level, that going for 2 has a higher "ROI" than kicking it anyway, especially with a shaky kicking game. Having said that, I know Coach T probably isn't a metrics guy and I would take him over just about anyone
