Whatever makes you sleep better. I know the bitter reality is hard to swallow... Look on the bright side. The SEC shine lasted a whole 2-3 years. That was much longer than most of us thought. Gotta go. Apparently some kid named Montrell from Hooks who was supposed to be an aggy lock committed to the Horns today. Need to go read up on this kid unless you want to give us the Cliff's Notes version.

Back to the original topic though, I was a bit upset we didn't offer Art without an interview to get him to Austin. Now, I couldn't be more relieved.

As much as I've always recognized Texas' ownership of this state, being able to mudhole aggy on the recruiting trail while only winning 44 percent of its game may be the greatest all time example of this fact...

Fair enough. And they almost always do show class. I was just happy there were no incidents for the Tigers getting out of Jasper tonight (first thought that came to mind when I heard where the game was going to be played). Talk about classless but that's another story for another day. Silsbee has MUCH to be proud of this year. -

I'm good with whoever wins between the Stangs and the Cards meeting up with the Bears in 2 weeks. -

Back to the kids, does Silsbee win the best overall athletics program for this school year in SETX? I think they do for the second time in 3 years (with WOS getting my vote last year). Of course, the mustangs are still playing and could make a case if they make another run like they did last year. -

I'm not that "hip" either buddy. I'm not sure there is a universal agreed upon meaning. And some probably use it without giving any thought to the meaning so it's innocent. I do have friends from Silsbee though that don't like it all due to the perception some have that it means smoking (not tobacco). -

No. Some people in Silsbee call themselves Smoketown. And I know plenty from there that aren't fond of the moniker. It's mostly the kids from what I can gather. -

And by the way, great season Tigers. And school year for that matter. I didn't think the overall year from the 2013-2014 could be surpassed but I think you did it. Definitely a year for the books. And keep it going LCM. Hope there's another district meeting after this week between two county rivals with a trip to Austin on the line! -

I root for Silsbee more often than not (except when they are playing a team from the OC). But "smoketown" and "class" don't belong in the same sentence. I like Silsbee folks. But that self-imposed nickname is a 100 times worse than a noisemaker. Just my humble opinion... -
Fox News poll: Donald Trump snatches lead from Hillary Clinton

At least you're learning. Have to admire someone who is still searching for the truth at your age -
Keitha Jones, Jr. at PAM is one of the best athletes in this area that few outside of PA seem to know about. 6'3" 200 lbs and can flat out fly (on PAM's sprint relay teams). And has a very strong arm as well. If he camps a lot this summer, I've been told by one of our resident experts in the subject (out of Beaumont) that it would be surprising for him to leave a camp without an offer.

Fellow PAM QB sophomore Keitha Jones picked up an offer from SMU a couple of weeks ago as well. Congrats to one of the best athletes in this area!

I thought I had already posted this but I guess I haven't (if I did, my apologies). In any event, interesting article from a pretty respected (and conservative) publication. [Hidden Content]

No doubt they got number 1 right. Greatest college football game ever on the biggest of stages.

Okay, after this week, I must declare Game of Thrones the best show on television. Another show I resisted for a long time because it wasn't a genre I typically enjoy. Sounds like I need to start watching Vikings as well.

You may be right. But Toe had offers from OU, A&M, Auburn, Iowa St., Marquette, and others. A couple of those could be considered a tier above Ok St. But no doubt an impressive offer for the freshman. And the Cowboys just hired one heck of a coach IMO.

And I still would like someone more savvy in politics than me to explain how we end up with two candidates that have massive DISapproval ratings.

The sad thing is I think a lot of us have reservations all the way around. If ever there was a time for a viable third party (or fourth)...
