Wondering if anyone realizes (they didn’t when they were complaining about Tic on this site) that Price was the third most successful D1 basketball coach in Lamar’s history behind Tubbs and Foster. But don’t let facts get in the way of narratives.

I see the whole Connell family from the dad to the youngest working with kids around here with basketball all the time. The dad coached a girls team in Little Dribbles this past season when no one would step up to do it. Sad that our own students cant go off get an education and come back to coach unless they're from the right families. Only winner here is the school that Coach Johnson came from.
A) He was never a GA at Lamar (student manager) and let us know how that went? Making it to the conference tournament semi finals his last year? Or how he was exceptional at his job? I guess since you guys are experts, you have done more than look at MaxPreps to see what kind of teams he had?
B ) The RC Hyden days aren’t likely coming again. I like the Connell family too but it appears that you all are advocating for hiring someone who also has limited experience coaching high school basketball, and not on the girl’s side. THAT would smack of local politics.
C) In the end, if he doesn’t work out, you can move on. It’s girl’s Hs basketball. Not like you had to lock him in to a 10 year deal. Let’s wish him well and see what he can do. He’s a bright, energetic young man who knows the game. Give him a chance. If you do, I think you will be pleased.

I think you guys will be very pleased with Coach Johnson. He will be great for the program and the community.

Junior Lofton goes for 42 & 14 a day or two after signing a 4 year/$7m deal with Memphis. Memphis had to sign him to a regular contract (instead of the 2 way/g league deal) in order to be able to use him for the playoffs (and Steven Adams is out for the year). The Griz only played 6 guys, but I still have to wonder if he got that opportunity before they signed him to the deal, how that would have affected his contract. Gotta think it would be at least double. Still, huge day for Junior and a great opportunity for him going forward.

Am very proud of our Bobcat on it. But my personal opinion is that if you aren’t going to include everyone (within a classification, etc.), kind of makes the list a bit of a joke. Like having an All American college team with only players from Adidas schools. Just my opinion though. Still an honor but if you are going to do it THSCA, do it right.

That’s what I assumed when no Hitchcock guys were on the team and even more glaring, no Harris on the 4A team or Yates on the 6A team.

I would say they are thinking two moves ahead and intentionally bolstering trump to have him as their opponent. But we all know that can’t possibly be true. Your statement is the far more accurate obviously.

I don’t think Biden can beat DeSantis. I don’t think Trump can beat anyone. This is literally going to come down to which idiots in which party prevail. But in politics, we are an eternity away. Who knows what changes between now and then.

Great thing about the women’s college game, don’t have to worry about them leaving. They make more in college than in WNBA. They can make some serious dough overseas but I’m sure Ms Clark will be back.

Definitely not. Now they are in the final 4 of a real national championship tournament with the games all on one of the ESPN platforms (U I think). And that still doesn’t have the same intensity as playing for your hometown. But the level of basketball and coaching is much higher than these made up tournaments.

The first part of that sentence may very well be true. The second part of that sentence isn’t true at all. I may very well get an “I told you so” in 18 mos or so and I will be fine with that. But I fear it will be me saying it and getting a “this election was rigged too” as a response.

There IS a candidate that would be incredibly difficult for someone on the left to beat but Trump’s ego won’t let him step aside for the good of the country. Was supposed to be there in July for a basketball event. Got switched to Las Vegas. You can imagine how happy I was, for many reasons.
