  1. I would have never believed Donald Trump could win the GOP nomination. It is looking more and more like a certainty. Smitty, you may have something with this low information voter thing. BUT, I think it is pretty clear there are plenty of them voting Republican. There are a lot of theories on who to vote for and why. I respect those of you who vote that way and that is my personal view. The guy I voted for today came in third. I think the die is almost cast at this point.
  2. Dang. That is one impressive win.
  3. My issue was "continues to be far superior." In the last 2 years, Ozen has produced 2 D1 players, Central 3. And with the freshmen and sophomores, Silsbee probably has the most D1 prospects, especially if you consider the Bush kid a part of next year's team. Of the ones on campus now, Silsbee has 2 rated in the top 10 in the greater Houston area of their class. HJ has the only other in Parquet.
  4. I don't know that I would go that far. I think even most Ozen fans would concede that Central has had, if not similar talent, at least close to the same talent the last few years. And IMO, Silsbee has talent that isn't far inferior to any team in this area...
  5. Yes, but it's nice his grandchildren are able to experience his freshman year at The Ohio State University.
  6. Not quite. But I would agree that the good coaches and programs do.
  7. He does a good job of mixing in humor but his staff does an excellent job of research. And his rants aren't necessarily party affiliated. In the same episode, he does quite a number on Obama for the Gitmo fiasco:
  8. Maybe so. I just don't see it as one or the other. DV, and myself, have consistently said Saveat has done a great job at Ozen. But you are probably right about English getting more praise overall. Most of that probably has to do with where the two coach.
  9. Well, at least they are still on campus . Then again, they weren't stuck in a craphole they couldn't wait to get out of, like a couple of 5 stars I know...
  10. Yes, because this thread gives him no credit for the job he's done. Do you actually read what people say about Saveat on this site or are you so used to playing the "poor me" act that you can't help yourself?
  11. The numbers say slightly over half of the country disapproves (52-55% depending on source generally). Although I will grant you that if you polled only people who actually vote, that number is likely to be much higher. Having said all of that, the Dems are likely to pick up seats in both the House and the Senate this election. However, it doesn't look like it will be enough to gain control of either (a few in each).
  12. I agree with you on Rubio.
  13. I have read the opposite. One of the producers stated that even more than Rick, Darryl was the one character they couldn't kill (although he did say Rick and one other as well, I think Carol). Basically his point was that Darryl was the most popular character and they feared losing at least half of the audience (I.e., the women) if they killed him. I guess no one is safe on this show but I would be truly shocked if Darryl or Rick were killed.
  14. I think Trump could beat Hillary. A lot of the polling suggests he has the best shot. Problem is, he's somewhat of a ticking time bomb and could implode at any time. I also think Rubio has a ton of upside and could win. Not saying either would beat her, but I definitely wouldn't say they couldn't.
  15. John Oliver is hilarious. One of my wife's favorite shows. He was discovered by John Stewart and is better than his mentor IMO.
  16. Stated this in another thread but one thing I've noticed, at least the last couple of seasons, is his teams show steady progress over the course of the season. I have always believed this is one of the big indicators of superior coaching. He definitely deserves any recognition in my book.
  17. If you read my post in context, it's made in jest in response to OF picking out a couple of close scores in Atascocita's schedule. I made that argument to show how foolish his argument was. I agree Ozen is a much better team than Nederland. And as far as critiquing players, I think you will find that comes up when an Ozen poster or two first make statements that aren't grounded in reality. Best luck to Ozen and its kids. I think you will find that despite what some who are delusional will tell you, most all of us are rooting for the Panthers to win each and every game left on their schedule.
  18. I give credit where credit is due. And one thing I will say, Ozen is MUCH improved over where they were earlier in the season. Gotta give a lot of credit to coaching there. So when it appears they will be taking a big step back next year and Mamba tells me they will not miss a beat, I can't argue with him. They have shown a penchant for peaking at the right time. Again, says a lot about coaching. Oh, and give me Ozen by 6 in this one. One game at a time and hopefully one win past where last year ended.
  19. No no...if you don't think Ozen is the greatest program in mankind and its players all should be McDonald's All Americans, it's hate. Always the victim. Try to catch up Soulja.
  20. Atascocita's guards are WAYYY better than yours. Sorry. Don't believe me? Ask anyone that has no affiliation with your high school. And they have a better big as well. Keep throwing up close games they played. Using that argument, YOU barely beat Nederland TWICE who you tell us is horrible. Okay, I'm done abusing you for the day. Kind of feels wrong on a Sunday.
  21. And Ozen absolutely has very good guard play. But to say "NOONE" (which I presume to mean no one)? Ridiculous. You have a kid going to a Conference that is 29th out of 32 and an unsigned senior. But I know, I know...those dumb college coaches don't know what they are doing...
  22. Look, you're not exactly the EF Hutton of talking basketball...
  23. Hence the last paragraph of my post
  24. Not saying they would. I think you should tell Saveat to take Sigler up on his offer so we can see. Silsbee did beat Central who won 2 out of 3 from Ozen. And Big Sandy beat Nederland by small margins twice, just like Ozen. Do I think Big Sandy would beat Ozen? No. Do I think Silsbee would beat Ozen if they played next year, probably. But we probably won't know for sure because I doubt Ozen would want to play that game. But the way they are playing right now, I think one would have to argue that Ozen is the best area team. And this IS the most important part of the season.
  25. I gotcha. I wish Saveat would take Sigler up on his offer to play them. My bet is we would hear a little less about losing to teams from lower classifications afterwards.
