Thirdkill is the toughest loss of the 4 imo. Harris was a walk on who played very little. Calmese was the top scorer and on paper the biggest loss. Definitely wish him well. But there were plenty of issues there. And Yamanouchi was the beneficiary of attrition. 4th best big on the roster after adding Janko (who also was promptly injured). With all healthy, he would struggle to get minutes.

Twice in one week. If we could start making shots, we could be dangerous in the tournament. Have enjoyed this team more than any we’ve had in quite some time. Terry has done a great job.

For me, Johnson is the best player I’ve seen in Texas HSBB right now and that includes Ron Holland (top ranked 2023 kid in the state). For those who aren’t convinced, maybe you will be during his NBA career.

It’s easy for us to say be loyal to your hometown. I can tell you, I love my hometown but I love my family more. Drelon and Jared should both be in the top 1% of income earners in Silsbee, Texas within months of graduation.

Very true. And I know most of us will never forget that Yates game in Huntsville. And Devon McCain’s performance against Carter in the State Championship game was one for the ages and one of the all time great performances at state.

Some of y’all told me this group was going to be as good or better than the Adams, McCain, Bush group. I found that hard to believe. Results aside, that has never passed the eye test with me. Thought it was unfair to this group to put that type of weight on their shoulders. Still do. Really good bunch who still has one more year to leave their mark and I hope they do. But as I said when they were coming in as freshman. Really good group of kids but let’s slow our roll. They aren’t THAT. Conversely, we did have a group that does meet or surpass that group. And they are COACHED by a Silsbee guy. Go get that three peat Wolves!

Good thing Hitchcock got to play the Bobcats from Orangefield. Otherwise they wouldn’t have been tested before state. And yes, I know Lorena played them almost as close but Orangefield had them on the ropes for a good portion of that game.
