  1. And to clarify, by "toughest" I mean number of high quality teams. I am not suggesting other schools in this area couldn't compete or win that district.
  2. Didn't St. Thomas beat Concordia earlier this week? And yes, Kelly plays in the toughest district of any team in this area.
  3. Man, maybe I'm wrong but just not a fan of Kennedy. Teams feed off of coaching and they just look uninspired most of the time. I think he's a really good guy and hopefully I am wrong. But I just don't see it. On the other bench is Avery Johnson, someone who would have loved the Aggie job.
  4. I think the hope is they will both be ready to go early in the playoffs.
  5. HJ without Parquet and Bernard. Silsbee without Michael McCain
  6. Yep. Buddy Hield is a gamer. No two ways about it. Don't like losses but Horns dictated the way the game was played. Have a feeling they are going to be a team no one wants to play from here on out.
  7. It's not the prettiest basketball you can watch but Shaka sure knows how to coach defense.
  8. Not even close
  9. According to Vegas, about a 1 in 3 chance. Carolina was a 2 to 1 favorite.
  10. Zero wins in 20-4A. Ask Huntington...
  11. Wade is one of the best DCs in the biz. I think they said 21 teams filled that spot before he got hired by Denver last year? Crazy.
  12. Agreed. Makes Brady's late game heroics even more impressive.
  13. Very fitting. Definitely a defensive championship and probably the best player on that defense.
  14. He would have my vote. Especially after that one.
  15. I don't know how that equates to winning percentages, but I was thinking 15 points without Eli. But I wouldn't be shocked either by an HJ win and thought they had a great shot at winning the one at home before the injuries. Goes back to depth. Silsbee is deep enough to compensate for an injury or a grades absence, especially in district. HJ has some depth but losing a Saladin or a Parquet or a Roberts is tough to overcome against Silsbee. But if Saladin and Roberts both have outstanding games with key contributors, who knows?
  16. By the way, South Carolina is a pretty good club. Not as good IMO as the Iowa State team the Ags beat last weekend in the same building but good enough to beat you if you aren't playing like you are capable.
  17. Hope they do too. I've never been a huge Kennedy fan in terms of coaching but they've made great strides this season. Maybe it's just a slump and they will get the ship righted. It's a young team in a lot of respects.
  18. He's injured. I think the Hawks hope to have him back by the playoffs.
  19. I am sure Saladin will be back. Not sure about Bernard. I don't think Eli will be back yet.
  20. No wonder. Still a good outing by BC though.
  21. They've beaten SATCH twice this year, I believe.
  22. Good catch. Changed "absolutely" to "completely" so as not to use "absolutely" twice in the post. Unfortunately, forgot to change the accompanying article. But it was indeed a nice catch and not a bad diversion when you can't dispute the era of irrelevance that began when the piggies fled to the SEC
