There was contact but it was initiated by the offensive player. With that shot, I don't make that call in normal game conditions, much less on a last second shot. But bad calls happen and you have to play through them. Some pointed out earlier in this thread that Memorial missed several layups. Make a couple of those and the bad call here is irrelevant.

I believed before the season these were the best 2 teams in our area. Nothing I have seen has changed this, in fact to this point, it has been reinforced. I am curious to see how the Lite unit from Silsbee competes with the Jags. The team the Tigers have on the floor can really go, but they are missing most of their quality size.

I'm one of the few on this board, at least is seems, that thinks your Lions are contenders in this region. Very curious to see how tomorrow night's game plays out.

You may have a point there. They should have gone to state last year. MacArthur wasn't nearly as good. Clear Lake got to the finals and almost beat Plano West. And a huge part of that was Tommy Penders on the bench IMO.

Atascocita has not one, but two of the best PGs in the area in Carsen Edwards (going to Purdue) and Greg Shead (Florida International). They can both shoot, pass, and break you down off the dribble. They also have maybe my favorite big man in the area in Fabian White. If he played for a shoe team in the summer, he would be much higher ranked. And then tons of pieces around them. They might lose this year. But if they do, it will be to a better team than we have in Beaumont.

Neither team is nearly as good as they were last year. Difference is Memorial fans realize this. But both teams will be fine and competitive. But would beat Atascocita? Get the heck outta here..

IMO, you never make that call unless you have to (obvious, shot-altering contact). But I am less than surprised.

Pretty sure I know more about both of the Harrison twins than you. Well, I obviously do - Aaron is not in the D league right now. And both would have likely been lottery picks out of HS. Their experience and time at UK is a different story. They'll both be all right though.

Watched the HBO special on Kareem this morning and they had a nice bit of it on the "Game of the Century." Before my time but I would have loved to have seen that game. Still have fond memories of Phi Slamma Jamma though.

Second, Andrew left early and actually got drafted Aaron signed a 2 year guaranteed deal with Charlotte. And although nothing has "played out," not a bad start in my book. But hey, that's just me...
