  1. Didn't they have some discipline issues last season, AAW?
  2. Ah, forgot he was 2017. You're right. He has time to decommit, commit somewhere else, and then recommit when he decides A&M was where he wanted to be all along. I kid but it is a growing trend. For the Ags, hopefully he stands firm and continues his recruiting campaign with other kids. Obviously I'm not an A&M fan but I've always respected those kids who not only stand firm but try to improve their future school while doing so.
  3. For the record, the following report showed a similar claim was proven false. Even so, the data compiled is still disturbing to me. [Hidden Content]
  4. Many of these incidents look bad for a reason. I heard an interesting "fact" on a tv program this week. NYC has gotten more than its share of publicity on shootings by police officers. The person speaking (who had supposedly researched the situation) said that of all the unarmed "victims" who had been shot by a NYPD officer over the past many years (it was either a 2 or 3 decade period), not one had been white. Kind of a tough statistic to explain away.
  5. Back on topic, sort of, is Martell's commitment really Spavital based? He seems to really love the school and is recruiting hard himself. I would think a switch to a proven play caller at OC would be an incentive for him, unless he's just super tight with Spav. If he is, switch Spav to QB coach and bring in another OC. Not like anyone is going to be banging down his door to hire him as a play caller anyway.
  6. A&M is a mess right now but SC is an absolute dumpster fire and Sumlin knows it. How bad does a team have to be that the old ball coach can't even stomach finishing the season with them? The bad part for the Ags is Spav can dial up whatever he wants, play whatever QB they want, and everyone looks good. I doubt it will fool Aggie fans though. They've probably seen enough and the savvy ones know the difference in playing SC and ole miss. Aggies win handily and all 3 QBs could see action if Swaggy chooses.
  7. He's a junior. The Shane Buechele kid from the metroplex was the mvp at the elite 11 camp last summer. Has a chance to be really good. I think we've all learned that you never know how good they will be until they lace em up on Saturdays. Garrett Gilbert was supposed to be all world and Mack went all in on the kid. May have eventually cost him his job to be honest.
  8. I did not take it that way at all and apologize for my comment AAW. I was playing with you but didn't mean to offend anyone. My apologies (you didn't need to).
  9. Now you're calling them special??? As in short bus special?? Wow!
  10. We shall see but as to next season, it is entirely possible the best QB on that team isn't on campus yet. That Martell (sp?) kid can go. Hopefully for the Ags, he's a willing redshirt and delay that headache for a year. It's a rich person's problem but you do have to juggle those issues, especially at QB when you have elite talent. Texas will have a similar issue at some point with the Buechele (sp?) kid if and when Heard struggles.
  11. He had a lot to do with them losing the final game against The University of Texas. Well, him and Case McCoy...
  12. Everyone knows schollies are earned between March and July anyway...
  13. Me either. Texas will rarely get anything but the other team's best shot. Iowa St. also hung with TCU for 3 quarters. We hung with TCU for 3 quarters of a minute.
  14. Definitely agree with all of that and it would surprise me too. I think Texas will finish relatively strong and can win the rest of their games with the exception of Baylor (assuming Stidham isn't a train wreck). Not saying they will but ISU, Kansas, WVU and Tech are all beatable. I think you raise a very good point in that he seems like the type that would want to try and finish what he's started. I guess my only point is I wouldn't blame him if he did. If he felt he would be happier in that position and it is a better job for him long term, I wouldn't hold any ill will toward him. Seems like it could be the best possible job in the country for him, but who knows. In the end, I think they will hire someone else and it will be a non-issue.
  15. I honestly think Miami is a better fit for Strong. Of course, he would make 2-2.5 mil less a year there. But who can complain about making 2.5 to 3m a year doing your dream job?
  16. Mack Brown did the same thing in the Chris Simms debacle. Made a promise to a recruit and his dad but he lived up to it. I don't think he did it again and may have cost him a recruit or two down the road. Then he went to the only signing one QB per class. These guys juggle a lot more than most realize. Sounds like the aggie locker room is a mess. The good news is the schedule is pretty weak again with the exception of LSU down the stretch. Winning cures a lot of ills.
  17. Agree with all of that. And to be fair, you can't really tell if it's really him. Not exactly Spielberg shooting the video either.
  18. Sumblin now Coach Stumblin. Don't blame him. I would have had a few too.
  19. if this is true, I have gained some respect for Sumlin. One of those hard things that needs to be done for a lesson for the kid, and more importantly, the team. More than I can say for Mack who allowed Case McCoy (who on his best day was nowhere near the QB that Allen or Murphy are) to keep playing after he told Coach Akina to shut up on the sideline. But as I said, punishment needs to be over. "It was difficult but Kyler learned his lesson and will be starting next game."
  20. Miami need OU to take UT to the shed. Strong could have been great there, I think. He would literally pick who he wanted out of South Florida.
