I watch every 30 for 30. I thought this one was very good and very well done (as almost all of them have been). What fascinates me most about them is how they are able to delve into the human elements behind the game. I was looking forward to this one as McCartney always fascinated me. What struck me with this one was how you have a man who has been so vocal about his faith, yet is so clearly flawed (as we all are). But throughout, it was obvious that he deeply cared about his players and was as willing to go to battle for them off the field as they were for him on the field (sounds familiar to a recent headliner?). As a result, in the end, he is respected, admired, and most importantly, loved by his former players. And for a coach, is there really any measure of success greater than that?

How did Skal look overall? Forgot to DVR the dang game.

My thoughts exactly. Nederland is in desperate need of a PG. Put either of Kelly's Port Arthur boys on the other team and they would be a very tough team to beat.

He is on a heater for sure! Think he was 5 for 7 in the first half. The ref that missed the elbow to Valsin's head on the sideline two feet in front of him that prompted the tech on Kelly's bench - is consistent. He has been the worst ref in setx for years.

Amen. That's what we get told time and again by more than a couple of college coaches. "We have plenty of scorers. I don't need a PG that likes primarily to create his own shots. I need him creating shots for my scorers."

That Vegas kid is a player. But he doesn't arrive until 2017. Can we have at least one of the rejects? We need to keep the miles off of the 18 wheeler. Speaking of, that sounds like a Brent Musburger concocted name and annoys me to no end because of it...

That will be interesting. The Mahomes kid was a MLB prospect out of HS and got drafted. He didn't play much if any for Tech last year. I think Kyler is better but so is A&M baseball.

pass it first blah blah blah? You do know pass first doesn't mean you can't score it, don't you? If not, Rajon Rondo says hello. Pretty sure Stockton and Magic could still play in today's game. And if those days are gone, catch an A&M game or two next year. Mr. Caldwell can flat out play.

I do too. But with the big programs, there are only so many shots to be had. Give me the kid that will set the other 4 up to score. Makes for a happier team as well.

I've seen him against better competition than you'll find in school ball several times. The kid can flat out go. They play Atascocita the day before Thanksgiving in the Hoopsgiving. Probably as stiff a competition as you'll find in this area. He is the best guard in the state bar none. But to me, he is more of a 2 or I guess a combo guard as they call them nowadays. The best pure PG in the state is JJ Caldwell. But I'm old school and prefer the pass first mentality from my 1s.
