All kidding aside, HJ - Silsbee should be highly competitive again this year. HJ has one advantage of having their key players all together early giving them a leg up there. Silsbee has a ton of vital components who also play football and will likely be in the playoffs. A deep run could put the Tigers behind. If they bow out early, it won't be much of a factor IMO. Either way, with the schedule Coach Sigler puts together, it will be baptism by fire and they should be ready for district. I expect two close games that could go either way. When the coaching is good on both benches (and it no doubt is here) that more often than not results in a split. Which would give us another thread to discuss if they will play a tiebreaker and why or why not. And if that is a good choice. Ok, getting too far ahead of myself here...

Rope a dope is still mad after this weekend because a) aggy lost to Bama again and b ) that Bama beauty outside the Chicken wouldn't give up her number. But to break it down into aggy math: Texas beat OU who beat Tennessee (in Knoxville) who beat Georgia. Texas is better than Georgia. Sorry Ropey. Try again pal.
-
K St. ALWAYS plays us tough. And we don't get teams overlooking us much. They all want to beat Texas. K St is no different. I expect this to not be an easy game.
-
completely agree. If I was a betting man (other than friendly wagers), I would be tempted to load up on the Ags. Seems that line should be reversed. Buddy G, you want ole missy?
-
y'all aren't fooling anybody. Everyone has known you two have been the odd couple on here for years. I'm not saying which one of you is Oscar and which one is Felix though.

I plan on being there if at all possible. Don't think SATCH will be able to match up with API but looking forward to seeing Duval and JJ Caldwell go at it again (saw them this summer in Atlanta). API may have the best team in the country. Looking forward to Cy Lakes and Atacosita (may be the best game of the day). And of course, central vs victory prep.

A&M's remaining schedule: Ole Miss (fresh off a loss to a mid major basketball school), South Carolina (so bad, Spurrier couldn't stomach the thought of finishing the last half of the season with them), Western Carolina, Auburn (worst auburn team in ages), Vanderbilt, and LSU (toughest test on the schedule IMO). How will the Ags live through this brutal schedule? I am worried they have bit off more than they can chew in the juggernaut of the SEC.
-
also happens to be our only loss in history against Bama (7-1 I believe). Anyone else have a winning percentage of 88% against Bama? Also, in before the history Nazis blow this post up...
-
Georgia? Really? Georgia??
-
Bama also moved up to 8th so I'm being told by my aggy friends that by losing yesterday, they actually won (as a conference). Makes sense I guess...
-
actually, our 4 losses are to the 4th, 11th, 14th and 20th ranked teams. We should follow others leads and schedule D2 games so we could have a fake sense of accomplishment...

Disclaimer: I feel like I just wasted time of my weekend that I won't get back with this dumb argument. I thought I laid it out so clearly in a limited, chart like argument above that was limited to this year only (which aggy insists is the only relevant season - except of course when it doesn't suit them)...

While you are "proving me wrong once again" (cough cough), shall we look at 15 of A&M's 33 wins? In other words, over 45% of their wins. In other words, almost half of their wins. In other words, their non-conference wins during this period. Why not? SMU three times, Sam Houston (DII) twice, South Carolina State (DII), Rice twice, La Tech, UTEP, ULM, Lamar (DII), Ball State, Nevada, and Arizona State. So in the undefeated stretch of A&M OOC dominance since leaving the Big 12, 4 of those 15 wins came against Division 2 schools, and 10 of the other 11 came against mid-majors. Arizona State is the only BCS conference OOC regular schedule game the Ags won. Of course, there will be the 16th straight upcoming against Western Coastal Carolina of the Eastern Seaboard in a few weeks. I think they may be a UIL school. Soooo congrats? Keep "proving me wrong" though sport...

you're right. TCU plays no one. They beat ole miss (weak sister) 48-6 last year. How did aggy do against ole missy? Remind me. Or are we allowed to talk about last year. I get your rules mixed up. While you ponder, have another glass of that maroon kool aid. You'll feel better!
-
To simplify, using 2015 (the only year that matters as you've instructed us): TCU > aggy. WVU> mizzou. > = better than better than = upgrade Hopefully didn't lose you there...
-
I will try again - to explain numbers to someone who went to an inferior school. Let's throw in strength of OOC schedule. what about SEC being overrated the last few years? And since when do Aggies like to talk about fan bases, money or national exposure with Longhorns? And I thought we weren't allowed to go back in time before this year? You told me that. So 4 years back is okay, but not 10 years. But, as you recently told us, going back 33 years is okay because that's how old you are. In the end, I think you mix "facts" with aggy logic. Which does tend to lose or confuse me because my mind isn't used to roaming in the realm of the mentally challenged...
-
But we would like to personally thank the Ags for being the turd in the SEC punch bowl. Only aggy could derail a run like they had going before joining...
-
All righty then. The delusion is even stronger with you than I thought. I promise I didn't tell everyone else in the country, not a member of the hillbilly conference. They figured it out on their own. Or they are just believing what they want....

Ozen Shootout Oct.17,2015 (Ozen High School)
TxHoops replied to Mamba's topic in High School Boys Basketball
I kind of assumed. Just based on the fact he obviously tries to put together as challenging a schedule as he can. I will also bet he won't get a "yes" for the next few years anyway. For obvious reasons... -
Every one thought a few years ago that the conference realignment made one conference stronger and one weaker. They were right, just not in the way they thought they were... Anyone still believe TCU was not an "upgrade"? And anyone betting Mizzou over WVU? I didn't think so...
-
You just ran out of time... And eventually games...

Who will be the new HC at USC-West,USC-East and Miami?
TxHoops replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in College Sports Forum
you didn't have to clarify. Apparently, Mack has interest in USC-b team. I hope for his sake he doesn't go there. I haven't always been thrilled with every thing he's done, but that would not end well. Columbia is a place where former great coaches go to die and tarnish their legacies... -
Ozen Shootout Oct.17,2015 (Ozen High School)
TxHoops replied to Mamba's topic in High School Boys Basketball
All right man. I know that kool aid is tasty. I really, really wish Silsbee was playing Ozen this year instead of the other 2 Beaumont schools. Since Ozen just reloads, see if you can get them on the schedule next year. I will even lay a couple of points with the Tigers... -
All right. After watching him again yesterday, I do get your point. No question he does a lot of things better than Young (but different positions). Nijal literally gets better every time I see him (which is only every month or so). The kid puts in a tremendous amount of time in the gym and it shows. At the level he is going, I don't see Young as more than a role player. He's a superior shooter so that gives him a leg up because those are always needed. Not sure he will be more than that though at the high D1 level.

Ozen Shootout Oct.17,2015 (Ozen High School)
TxHoops replied to Mamba's topic in High School Boys Basketball
not a huge central fan. I think I'm more of an impartial observer. And I've seen plenty of Ozen games. This is the weakest team they've had in a while. Central also lost Morris. But they have 2 of their best 3 players back with a good supporting cast. Losing Hunter is going to be tougher than you guys seem to want to admit. He single handedly kept you guys in the game a couple of times last year. But we will see who is right soon. Ball will be up in the air in a couple of weeks and the Panthers' ranking will be falling faster than Enron stock.
