  1. By the way, free cookie to the first person who figures out why Aggies like to use the last 30
  2. wow. So going back to the mid 70s isn't ancient history? Cmon OT. You're better than that. To avoid ancient history, Texas is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings. Which ironically is about the same winning clip as the entire ancient history of the rivalry...
  3. I do too. Man - those were some crazy times between you guys and Blinn! And my bad, who cares about academics when most of us make our livings through football! Aggy logic never disappoints!
  4. Very true about the kicking mishaps. I think the point with youth is that we are getting what you expect. A lot of mistakes but also significant growth each week. As for the Aggies start, let's wait and see. Refresh my memory how they started last year before finishing tied for 9th in conference? South Caroline started the year more highly ranked than ASU this year. And after ASU was beatdown 35-0 at half by a USC team that is likely a middle of the pack finisher in the PAC 12, that win is already losing luster (although admittedly the PAC 12 is a tougher conference). Point is, it's still early.
  5. It's not his fault. He can't help it that they don't talk about the SEC when he's accidentally watching the Longhorn Network...
  6. Think harder. Because if you've played more than umpire in little league baseball, you'd know that starters get more reps than than the backups. To break it down even further (being apparent you need it), more reps mean they play more. Thus, the significance of being a starter. But nice attempt at a troll. To put it in your parlance, I appreciate the softballs. Keep 'em coming ;)
  7. think real hard. 2 deep. How many on the other schools are number 2s? How many sophomores? I heard on one of the Saturday shows Texas has the youngest D1 program in terms of starters. Thoughts?
  8. [Hidden Content] congrats to little brother as well on cracking the top 10. All solid institutions in the top 10.
  9. No worries, we beat you with Case, I'm not concerned. After all, ownership has its privileges ;)
  10. As is 76-37-5 :D
  11. Don't worry, PCA would have given every team in this area a beating last year IMO. Central could have given them a game (and maybe beat them) but they had WAY too much size for any other school in SETX.
  12. No, this is entirely correct and I completely agree with you. The RPI in basketball does this and football should be no different. The OOC schedule in football is limited to a few games and gives the talking heads something to criticize though. That's where this comes in. Unfortunately, the attention it receives can often time bleed over into committee decisions though.
  13. Ok, for those otherwise "challenged" (I.e., Aggies), with the video slowed, you can clearly see Charlie yelling "bullsh$,+". A phrase we might like but certainly uttered hundreds of times by coaches over the course of a football weekend. As Craig Way aptly put it in his commentary, you just don't make that call. If anyone should understand, if they are any good at their job at all, a baseball ump knows there are certain calls you don't make in certain situations. This is one of them. I would argue the side official lost HIS cool, charged Charlie and bumped him, and promptly threw a flag after the bump. He lost his head, his cool, his sense of the situation. Charlie did nothing other than what most coaches in that situation would do. As a result, he will be participating in future games in Austin, billy badazz side judge will not... As for Charlie forgetting what he said, it appears the concept of not repeating an expletive at a reporter's request is too difficult a concept for you to grasp. Can't help you. And as for AAW, snarky comments aside, no one has my ear. But I can see what occurred (and what was yelled by Strong) on the video. Despite "moving on", you guys seem to have trouble seeing anything through those maroon glasses...
  14. Once again, congratulations from going from an average to below average team in the Big 12 to "world beaters" in that powerhouse of conference known as the SEC*!
  15. Nike does retain, under its current deal, to match any other offers. I was told right after UA's initial bid that Nike wasn't close to crying uncle at that number.
  16. It appears the exclusive negotiation period between Nike and UT will expire at midnight tonight. This will open up the bidding to all shoe companies, although this appears to be shaping up to be a Nike/Under Armour battle, #1 & 2 in the sports apparel business now. A few months ago, UA fired a shot across the bow by "offering" the Longhorns $150 million over 10 years. At the time, UA was paying the richest deal when they signed Notre Dame to a 10 year/$90m deal. However, when Nike regained the Michigan contract from Adidas with a $169m/11 year deal late this summer, the price of poker went up. I predict the Texas deal may reach $20 million a year. Looks like the shoe boys pay a little more to the flagships...
  17. Time to hang another banner?!
  18. It's not about me being right. The tape doesn't lie. That's what great about the video age. We can see things with our own eyes. To explain otherwise is as asinine as making it a race issue (which I never referenced in the quote you provided). Then again, if I had the time or inclination, I could probably fill up several pages of a thread on the retarded things stated on TexAgs in any given 24 hr window...
  19. that was an obvious joke. You can read lips and tell he said what dozens of coaches say every weekend (right or wrong) and don't get flagged for...especially with the game on the line. Craig Way is correct in his call on the video - you just don't make that call. What is clear is that Strong was walking away, the official pursues him, and bumps the coach, after which he immediately throws the flag. BUT, it's not the bump (that he initiated) that drew the flag? Of course they are going to say that. How could you not once you are shown to have caused the contact? Regardless, the director of officials no longer has the reins here.
  20. In all fairness, a lot of the time they spend watching The Longhorn Network is due to "accidentally" hitting the remote, and it lands on the channel. 2 hours later, they figure out how to change it back to the SEC Network. I heard that here...
  21. I think the wheels are already in motion. Especially the for the guy who bumped Strong.
  22. I wonder.... Relax - just having some fun with you :D
  23. QB is awful. Coach tells QB to stop sucking. QB continues to suck. Disciplinary suspension.
