  1. Fitting right in with the SEJCC I see: [Hidden Content] time to hang another banner.
  2. NFL highlight on 30 for 30 Megashorts? (Artfully crafted by Jack Daniels)
  3. Kelly will be much better this year and even better next year. Helps that they arguably have PA's top player in each of the Class of '17 and '18, respectively. They also have one of the better class of '17 players from Nederland. I expect them to be near the top of 3A-Private I'm SETX this year and at the top next year, which will be AG (after Grayland).
  4. Catalon walked out of practice yesterday. Had slipped to third on the depth chart behind Foreman and rumors were Warren was about to pass him up as well. It is looking more and more like Heard may never see meaningful time on the 40 acres. He has been unable to gain any traction since he's been there and Merrick appears to be poised to pass with him on the depth chart. With the MVP of the Elite 11 QB Camp coming in next year, along with Kai Locksley likely redshirting, here's another kid who may be better off finding a place where he can find the field. Again, kids don't generally transfer because they are succeeding. And with Catalon and Cherry, despite being talented, those type of attitudes don't seem to fly at the Flagship under Strong.
  5. Charlie seems to be loving this team and believes it will be much improved this year and a national contender next year. All going to depend on QB play, which at this point seems to hinge on whether Swoopes has grown as much as they seem to think. As for Cherry, sorry you aren't the beast Malik is. Don't feel bad, by all accounts, very few are...
  6. In fact, it appears HF ranks only behind Sabine Pass (41st) and Evadale (124th) in SETX among the top public high schools in Texas... HJ also highly ranked at 172... [Hidden Content]
  7. Hmmm, according to testing for 2014-15, HF ranked as the 139th among Texas High Schools and Ozen was 1451st. (Sabine Pass was the highest ranked school in SETX at 41st.)
  8. santos is supposed to be back which would move Malik back outside.
  9. Interesting game on many levels. Happy to have the rivalry back on Thanksgiving week, even though it's not the game to which we are accustomed. This one is a toss up IMO. Assuming Texas is playing Shaka's brand of basketball, their experience and physicality inside against the Aggie Freshmen will be somewhat negated. Should be a fun one to watch though.
  10. Top 5 program in television history...
  11. LSU should be thankful they haven't gone the way of SMU. May be the dirtiest program in the country.
  12. I agree in general. I do love the 30 for 30s though, and even the SEC Storied. Personally those are my favorite programs on their networks.
  13. Ok, you should have gotten soaked from the sarcasm dripping from my original post. You can stop the schtick ;)
  14. He will be rooting for the football team harder than anyone in the country. He will be the sacrificial lamb much quicker than Charlie. His leash is about the length of toothpick right now. He has burned so many bridges the BMDs are looking for any reason to send him packing. He so badly wants to be the rain maker that DeLoss was (or surpass him) but is trying to do it in the most asinine ways. And has none of the PR skills DeLoss had, if not with outsiders certainly with the money guys. Unfortunately for Patterson, the same guys that have developed an almost hatred for him, are the same guys who line the Governor's pockets at election time. I would bet barring an absolute shocking improvement on the gridiron, he won't be in Austin more than another year. I would, however, like to thank him for what I believe will be a home run hire in basketball. That seems to be the one facet of his job in which he had a clue.
  15. You are starting to catch on The bottom line is, ESPN, like most huge corporations in the business of marketing their product, wanted to be in business with the biggest brand in the sport. Much as you fellas hate to acknowledge, that happens to be your big brother down the road.
  16. Aggie logic. I thought the fact that ESPN was paying Texas for its own network is what was threatening to blow up the conference. Or that's what every single team that left, especially those little Aggies, claimed. "Waaaahhh! It's not fair those big bad Longhorns get their own channel!" "Waaaaah! Those mean ole Longhorns aren't sharing!" So which is it? The chicken or the egg? In the end, the conferences are going to merge, and Texas will choose between the PAC 12, Big 1G, and the ACC. The University would have never approved them joining the SEJCC to begin with. They may have to share the $15M a year they get from the LHN, which is almost definitely going to be less than their new shoe deal (which I am sure is going to cause more whining since it will be 4 to 5 times what all the other big schools get, except for Notre Dame and it should be around double or more theirs). Then we will hear, "why does Nike or Under Armour like Texas more than is?? Why don't they have to share their sneaker money????"
  17. ESPN does very little that isn't profitable. I would bet a handsome penny it's going to be profitable on the back end. When you spend 18 months negotiating to get the deal you want with providers, with little to no income coming in during that period, of course it's going to be a losing proposition. Even with aggy math. BUT, the beauty is they are now getting Mack's money each month, and we all appreciate his contribution to our coffers. We will spend it as quickly as possible.
  18. He will have lower career numbers in the NFL than VY. Take that to the bank. And less MNCs of course.....
  19. Riiiiiiiiiigggghhhhhht. I hope they keep it forever too. After Nike and UA break the bank in the ongoing bidding war to be UT's apparel provider (Nike says UA doesn't have enough money to get UT away from them), we will have more money to piss away! (Unlike you thrifty little aggies....)
  20. Nice try. Everyone on this board knows that no one watches more LHN than you. Obsession noted...
  21. This year will be the third consecutive year without an SEC NC. What happened to the mojo? Are the other conference members screaming " aggy is the turd in the punch bowl" correct??
  22. Admitting is the first step ;)
  23. But to your point, the rule provides for punishment "including, but not limited to a fine of up to $25,000.00." So, under the language highlighted, a suspension can be implemented using that "catch-all phrase." BUT, if the max fine in only $25k (minuscule by today's standards), how does Rog land on a 4 game suspension. Obviously, this conduct wasn't comtemplated to be that serious given the low nature of the max fine. I just think, as in almost everything he has touched, Goodell has butchered this whole thing from the get go.
  24. The NFLPA is the weakest union in all of the major sports, in a sport where the money is the biggest and the risk to the players is the greatest. What I wouldn't give for a crack at negotiating the next CBA....
