  1. I'm with you on all of that. I always want all SETX teams to do well. Root on a lot of teams because of kids I know too. I do like the smaller communities though. Evadale is another high on my list. Love Newton folks. And I got hooked on Big Sandy last year after a tip from AAW.
  2. And it's a well known fact that the Bumble Bees of the 80s/90s were children of right wing GOP'ers. Once they flipped parties, all the kids went soft :D
  3. Yes, I am sure the only "self-imposed victims" in sports are left-wing nut jobs Fortunately, scroll down a little and there is a board full of lock steppers that will agree with you...
  4. Already tried. No Newton or Big Sandy at my local Walmart. If I join their respective booster clubs, do I get a t-shirt?
  5. I would like to announce I am officially on the Newton bandwagon for football and Big Sandy for basketball. I have a soft spot for small schools; both schools have awesome fans/communities; and I enjoy the way each team always plays. I will be purchasing a t-shirt for each school as well (I want to officially be a t-shirt fan). If any of you Eagles or Wildcats know where I can find one, much obliged.
  6. Speaking of Bama, I can only judge them from the Rose Bowl/NC game (which is typically the bigger money folks) but I was much more impressed with Michigan's fans the year before.
  7. Big, BIG issue IMO. The Bees of Big Cam's era were junkyard dogs. Tough as nails. I see too many kids there now who are "whiny and entitled" and play a lot softer. The freshman who started at Kelly last year is a throwback to those old teams. Skilled, strong, physical, and plays all out. I think a lot of this problem does filter down from parents. It's always someone else's fault when things go wrong.
  8. Speaking of, Arkansas is too low on this list. Even though it's an SEC site's list, I can't argue with LSU #1. Of the places I've been, I would rank LSU #1, Ohio St. #2, Nebraska #3, and Arkansas #4 as the most difficult places to play. Maybe it's the rivalry with Texas but Fayetteville was crazy.
  9. Don't be butt hurt just because you guys even suck at being "great fans." Keep waiving that towel little buddy...
  10. Here is my question. Is there even a substantial difference between 12.5 psi and 11 psi? I mean, officials are routinely handling footballs during the game and apparently did not notice it. It took a Colt defender to take it to his sideline and have an equipment manager to measure it. The whole thing just seems so ridiculous with all the other suspension related issues the NFL has. The appellate procedure is a joke as well. God help us that Smitty and I finally agree on something! (Just kidding you Smitty )
  11. You're a better man than me, baddog. I think the whole suspension is ridiculous but if he's going to miss a game, I want it to be against us!
  12. You've definitely paid for your shirt and then some! And don't let these Aggies fool you. They have plenty of "t shirt" fans, including plenty on this forum. They just like to complain about UT's because, like always, we are the most popular school in the state. Jealousy is a powerful thing. I've always thought it's an extremely dumb (I.e., Aggie) argument anyway. Aren't all of us Cowboy fans just tshirt fans?
  13. Back to original subject of thread, since LeBron's son will receive attention regardless, and since at 11, he already holds offers (including Kentucky), I think LeBron should pull the kid from AAU ball permanently. And there is no doubt in my mind he won't...
  14. I would appear to be a huge bandwagon fan as well. In my defense, my favorite teams are based on who I grew up rooting for, which were the teams my old man rooted for. He grew up in the 40s and 50s and is a die hard Cowboys, Celtics and Yankees fan. He is also from West Texas and is a huge Tech fan. So those were my teams too, until I went to UT for academic purposes and added my alma mater to my list of teams. I will say that we are loyal. After I hit double digits into my mid 20s, the Yankees were pretty bad. Almost the same timeline with the Cowboys, except they became good again in my early 20s. I did have the Celtics though who were almost always very good throughout my childhood years. May be why basketball has always been my favorite sport... (My son on the other hand is getting his fair share of lean Celtics years. Still his favorite team though.)
  15. I don't know. I got the point he was making and he wasn't incorrect about the educational situation there. Can take ESPN radio off of my presets now. The only reason I listened during the day was The Herd..
  16. Old white dude with a skullet from the South is a racist? No way!
  17. Don't worry Mack. You little fellas are still more thrifty...
  18. Not sure on McCain. Haven't seen him lately. Last time I saw Adams (a couple of weeks ago), I would say he's 6'2". Both are finishing above the rim now.
  19. Yep, they (Gulf Coast Blue Chips '2023) played up 3 divisions to 13u at the AAU nationals (the big one in Memphis) this summer. They finished 2nd. And Brony is the second best player on the team. The best? Jared Harris of Silsbee. Not even kidding. And here come the Hawks! In 3, 2, 1....
  20. The irony is how poor the overall coaching in the NBA is now. Coaches are overpaid cheerleaders who watch their players consistently walk the ball up the court, isolate, and play 1 on 1. Kids also like to emulate what they see on TV.
  21. Devon McCain, Silsbee Jordyn Adams, Silsbee everyone else
  22. As opposed to FSU's all white with black stripes?
