So glad we didn't hire Briles. He never would have survived this. I can't imagine he will there either, but it is Baylor so I won't be shocked. Next job back for an ISD?

As stated above, the defense elected for the jury to assess the punishment, which they did. Once they decided to probate his sentence, the judge gave him the maximum jail time he could, which was 180 days in county jail as a "condition of his probation." This is the most jail time a judge can assess in a probation case in this state. This was misstated or misreported in a lot of outlets so you read it correctly. Feel bad for the judge getting a bad rap when he threw everything he could at the scumbag. But I suppose this is what happens when you have sports media covering legal issues.

tried it today. Philly was good. Seafood looked good as well.

Saved me some typing Seriously though, his days are numbered It just doesn't seem to be in his nature to rub elbows. You can't be the AD at UT and not pick up the phone or involve the BMDs. His predecessor was as good a money maker as there is, but Deloss knew how to play the game. Unfortunately for Patterson, those same guys he manages to keep pissed off are also the BMDs to the Governor, aka his bosses' boss. Word is those guys have their hearts and wallets set on Jurich now. I would like to thank SP for what I believe will be a slam dunk basketball hire though.

Subway spokesman Jared Fogle home raided: Child Porn
TxHoops replied to Mr. Buddy Garrity's topic in The Locker Room
They are criminals but there is a code they have in the big house. Jared is about to be in a world of pain. And he thought he had a lot of 6 inchers and foot longs in his weight loss journey.... -
Less swag, more core values.

These two particular freshman would be two of the better players on most varsities in this area. For sure in the district. On the teams in the district, with the exception of their team and arguably HJ, they would be the best players on the other teams IMO. So not your typical freshmen by any stretch. Comes from playing against older players most of their lives. And better players than they typically face in school ball.

suffice it to say, all of their programs rate favorably with most of the schools in the state. Of course, they are able to actually teach instead of preparing students for a standardized test. (Less government interference some might say )

[Hidden Content] I was discussing this with a law enforcement friend of mine. Thinks it's a very bad idea. I understand the spirit of the law but I tend to agree. Puts a lot of weight on one person. Interested particularly in tvc's thoughts on this issue.

I know you are making a point, and a valid one at that, but this seriously cracked me up!

it's a private school. Without recruits, it wouldn't have any students.

Wow what a headcase. Obviously has some jealousy issues. Good riddance I am thinking. But someone should tell Cecil not to worry. He can watch Malik play on Sundays like the rest of us.

Texas, meanwhile, is involved in a bidding war at the moment. UA has currently offered Texas $15M a year (a little over double the Aggies' deal, which makes sense). However, I heard from a very reliable source that Nike has let it be known that UA does not have enough money to outbid them for their prized program. We shall see...

Texas ranks 1st in total appearances in the BCS Standings with 105 weekly appearances since the rankings began in 1998.Texas holds the NCAA record of most consecutive weeks ranked at 162 from the 2000–2010 seasons.

what does none in the last 75 years make you? But, even with a subpar aggy education, is it your contention that only the teams that win it all are relevant? If not, how many top 10 finishes does Texas have in the last 20 years? How many schools have more? Relevance must be a short list..
-
We will always be relevant in football. It's only a matter of time, but you already know that. Fortunately, when we are on top we win and play for national championships. Some have to pound their chest and consider themselves relevant when they finish tied for 7th or 9th in their conference. In other words, whether it's football or education, you will always be little brother. Sorry sport :(

...and if all else fails, we are the 19th toughest school to gain admittance into in Texas. Which, coincidentally, puts us near the top of the SEC. So we have that going for us, which is nice...

NFL highlight on 30 for 30 Megashorts? (Artfully crafted by Jack Daniels)

Kelly will be much better this year and even better next year. Helps that they arguably have PA's top player in each of the Class of '17 and '18, respectively. They also have one of the better class of '17 players from Nederland. I expect them to be near the top of 3A-Private I'm SETX this year and at the top next year, which will be AG (after Grayland).

Catalon walked out of practice yesterday. Had slipped to third on the depth chart behind Foreman and rumors were Warren was about to pass him up as well. It is looking more and more like Heard may never see meaningful time on the 40 acres. He has been unable to gain any traction since he's been there and Merrick appears to be poised to pass with him on the depth chart. With the MVP of the Elite 11 QB Camp coming in next year, along with Kai Locksley likely redshirting, here's another kid who may be better off finding a place where he can find the field. Again, kids don't generally transfer because they are succeeding. And with Catalon and Cherry, despite being talented, those type of attitudes don't seem to fly at the Flagship under Strong.
