  1. He would be my 3rd choice on this list. I guess I would go with Hancock but Coleman would be a decent hire too.
  2. No kidding. You make as much money from obsessed Ags like PM19 who can't help themselves to see what Daddy is doing. Of course, you could also start a "sunshine pumping" site for aggy fans. Those chumps have been buying this stuff their entire lives with no championships to show for it. Suckers...
  3. ^ There are plenty of Ags who know what it's like to win big. It's just most of them are 6 feet in the ground now...
  4. Keep laughing your way to mediocrity, year after year. i guess it helps when everyone else if laughing at you.
  5. Even the SEC Network puts the flagship University of Texas on in prime time to get that ratings bump. You're welcome.
  6. And an excellent student. Always nice to not have to worry about a kid performing in the classroom. Rodney is exceptionally bright and a hard worker.
  7. It's like a college on probation. You just don't hire Narry Switzer, Jackie Sherrill, etc. Last thing BISD needs is the certain scrutiny and criticism that would most certainly come from a Johnson brother hire. I truly hope he has everything in order now. And if he wants to coach again, I am sure there are some 2A/3A schools in East Texas that would give him the chance to prove it.
  8. You just can't make this stuff up
  9. If the old BISD board hadn't gotten thrown out on their ears, this might have happened. If this is the recommendation that gets made to the new board, I'd be looking for a new AD as well.
  10. Reminds me of Kinky Friedman's response when he was asked this question when running for governor years back. It was something to the effect of "hell yes gays should be able to get married. They have the right to be just as miserable as the rest of us!"
  11. Given that it's Mississippi, "A Time to Whip your Stepdaddy's Arse"? Get on it Grisham.
  12. If this is true, he should receive a medal, not be arrested. Let someone hit my momma and see what kind of "battery" ensues...
  13. Can't believe I completely agree with you for once!! I don't know why, but I also feel compelled to reply to a post above. Brian English can flat out coach. Period. End of story. Give him any group of kids and a couple of hoops and he will make them better. I don't care what the "demographics" are. Personally, I would love to see what he could do with a team as talented as Central last year or this year. I do think Nederland will be much better this season than last though. Could have some great games between the English and his dogs and whoever is hired to coach the Jags
  14. I think that actually has more to do with how the Canes of dominant years did on the field than off the field. Ridiculous to me, but I think it's true. The celebrating, the penalties, the absolute annihilation of people... I thought they were entertaining but the old school disagreed. I don't know how many rule changes they instigated but it was a lot.
  15. Ditto. I wouldn't be shocked if this is the direction some try to go. What would absolutely shock me is this decision getting through the board of managers. I can't imagine them stamping approval on that decision if that's where they try to go.
  16. If they hire in house, it's not going to be him anyway.
  17. But I thought this was a golden age for Aggie football. Coach Swag and those awesome recruiting classes? No one at Texas is happy with last year. After all, some of us have middle school kids who remember our last national championship. But there is nothing wrong with being proud of your team, despite finishing tied for 9th in your conference. We just have different standards is all. Oh, and let's not forget how frugal you little fellas are with your money. A penny saved is a penny earned after all. So you have that going for you, which is nice!
  18. Do Silsbee and HJ never play in each other's summer tourneys AAW?
  19. Amazingly, in his first full recruiting season, still finished with the top class in the state. Kind of remarkable since he didn't have that mighty SEC card to play. Whether it will end well or not remains to be seen. I am confident it will probably end better than tied for 9th in the conference ;)
  20. Heffers, sheep, goats...I will freely admit you Ags have much "deeper" knowledge of these things than me.
