  1. Certainly understandable. I was an LSU baseball fan myself while Johnny Dishon was there. And I even rooted for A&M except for the few times they played Texas while Jace Statum was there. I had a double reason in that matchup - my alma mater and UT had an Orangefield kid too those four years - Jacob Felts.
  2. I have heard Lee has planned this last season was his last regardless. In other words, he was planning on leaving on his own for awhile.
  3. Good season for the Ags. Got hit pretty hard by the injury bug earlier in the year so to make the run they did was pretty remarkable.
  4. I'm good with whoever wins tonight. Really wish they were in different supers where we could have a chance to have 2 Texas teams in Omaha. On a different subject, was in B/CS all weekend. Really like what they have done with Northgate and the Dixie Chicken may still be the best watering hole in the State.
  5. Yes that's what it shows. Against Dwight Howard's 17u team. What it doesn't show is him being in the top 10 on the circuit in points, steals, and assists. And top 20 in rebounding. In other words, he does more than dunk
  6. Didn't a Big 12 team by the name of the University of Texas knock A&M out last year? I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same. Aggy still can't compete in the Big XII
  7. He is a nice player but has some consistency issues. The rankings will support my post. One service already has Williams in the top 50 nationally, the only kid in our area on any such list. But I forgot rankings mean nothing. Unless you are interested in going to college, of course.... But please keep in mind I am a big fan of Eli. BIG fan. I just believe right now this kid is a little better.
  8. Here is your current best freshman (incoming sophomore) in SETX. Kid is blowing up this summer: [Hidden Content]
  9. Hire new coach. Have a slight initial bump. Give a raise and extension. Implode. Repeat.* *aggy formula for success** **by success, I mean mediocrity.
  10. It's okay little buddy. You had a good one year run. We will still wave to you down below like we always have. Poor aggy...
  11. You keep using my line! But why would one be obsessed with the goofy little brother who we literally owned for a century, until said little brother tucked tail ran from one conference in which it couldn't compete to another conference in which it can't compete. On the other hand, it may be of some benefit to study another's failures to make sure to not make those same mistakes...
  12. Yawn. Business as usual. In other news, the sky is blue and water is wet....
  13. No one keeps up with UT recruiting as much as you. So we might not know as much. You guys are welcome to our culls as always. You're welcome in advance.
  14. He is the best in the world. The difference between him and the greatest of all time though is that last second shot. No way Cleveland should have lost that game in that situation. Like always, the best get the calls. You have to attack in that situation and not shoot a 20 foot fadeaway. He scores or shoots FTs most likely. That was as bad a decision in crunch time as you will see from a player of his stature.
  15. Did you miss the 15,000 articles on schools he was allowed/not allowed to transfer to? Don't worry so much about Charlie. I realize it only took him a year to bust the bubble you guys seemed to be grasping at recruiting wise. The good news, or the bad news, is that no one is interested in your cellar-dweller coach anymore...
  16. Especially 1. But that's just how it is there. Baseball is king from the time they can walk. Heck, sometimes 2. does not come into play because of 1. Shugart was a very good football player but chose to play baseball only this year (had some injury issues in the past). Who can blame him when his future is on the diamond? But I am sure Dubois will make a good hire. Hard to argue with his hire at HJ last year ;)
  17. Best tweet of the night: LeBron stole tacos from everyone in the arena with that garbage layup at the end.
  18. BC still has plenty of good athletes. Most just choose to play other sports.
  19. To each his own. I think most think the SEC is kind of over the top with it.
  20. This is my point. I get upset when a coach does this. Much more so than when a kid decides he wants to go somewhere else and bails on his commitment. Why are we okay with the double standard? For some reason I am, but not sure I have a good reason for it. Personally, I feel if a kid doesn't want to be there, it is unlikely he will benefit the school anyway. And I almost always think a school should give a full release to such kids. But I get highly offended when a school gets jerked around by any school.
  21. I completely agree. It does raise an interesting issue in my mind though. Why are we okay with players changing their minds on commitments or transferring but get so upset when a coach pulls an offer or doesn't renew a scholarship? Shouldn't that knife cut both ways? Full disclaimer - I am as guilty as the next guy with the double standard.
