  1. You're at the wrong events maybe. Had 15 D1 head coaches at our Friday night game in Louisville (including Bill Self) as well as the Findlay Prep staff recruiting.
  2. I believe this is true FAR more often than not. There are some who certainly can but more fall in the "cannot" category.
  3. No doubt you guys would. Aren't you still paying Fran?
  4. How many did A&M get drafted? How many did Texas? I'll hang up and listen.
  5. I agree - already said he's one of the all time greats. And I don't care who it is - manny, mayweather, or anyone else - it's boring to me. That's all.
  6. All I can say is I would never pay for another of his fights. Or even try to go to a place showing it. He's a great fighter and I have no hatred for him. His style is just boring IMO. If you grew up watching fights like the one below, you might feel the same. There was more action in that first round than the whole fight last night: [Hidden Content]
  7. Gotta agree with Buddy. Just my personal opinion but I think many of these QBs that are "busts" might not have been had they had a chance to learn for a couple of years.
  8. To be fair, not nearly as bad as the 77-0 beat downs they used to take in our "inferior" conference. I think we should let up on those poor Aggies until the season start. You know, let them bask in the glow of their 9th place conference finish a little longer....
  9. Floyd is a great fighter. One of the all time greats within the rules of the sport. His speed is amazing. And for us old school guys, he is boring as hell to watch. It's like watching a basketball team run the four corners. Can be very effective but doesn't make it fun to watch.
  10. I was telling my kid last night that the fight I most remember watching with my dad was Hagler/Leonard. It's a shame there just aren't those type of fights/fighters anymore.
  11.   The numbers will exceed anything they anticipated.  Directv was crashed on the phones and online with people trying to pay to watch the fight.  Never seen a fight delayed to let the cable providers try and handle the volume of the demand.
  12.   Waste of $100.  Pretty boring IMO.  No way I pay or even search for a place to watch a rematch.  Not that there will necessarily be one.  These two are not close at this stage in their careers.  Would have loved to have seen them go at it 5 years ago.  Think Reggie Miller was pretty poignant in his assessment before the fight about that opinion.
  13. [Hidden Content] Not the biggest Le Batard fan but I do listen to him a couple of times a week. One thing I love about him is his absolute impatience with stupidity.
  14. Completely agree with all of that. Wasn't the case with either kid I am talking about though.
  15. A little different way a making bullets13's point but an excellent job of making it. Completely agree.
  16. I'm pretty sure they even named something on that campus after Nevin Shapiro (and then quickly removed it when his Ponzi scheme went bust).
  17. Reading my mind... (Except for the Pacq making him bleed. Would surprise me a little if that happened).
  18. My experience is more often than not it is the parents (NOT in this instance because I have zero idea what happened with these two). Know of a couple of instances of parent driven moves before the season though to teams with less exposure, playing at a lower level. I also know some kids and parents who replaced them that will owe those parents who moved their kids a huge thank you when it's all said and done ;)
  19. My heart says Pacquiao but my head says Mayweather will be too much for Manny at this stage in his career.
  20. One of the benefits of the rookie salary cap. Can take a couple in consecutive years and hope one pans out. Worked out for the Cowboys with Aikman & Steve Walsh.
