Annnnd, I have a new fav Twitter to follow...

They had 6 players at the SIB. Looking to poach from other teams but certain people's "reputations" precede them. Down the pipeline, I think their 16u won the tournament. But the 15u looked pretty bad and went winless in pool play. The 14u got ran out of the gym by AJ's team in the finals of their division.

Talked to different people from other well known organizations in the Houston area this last weekend. They are widely considered to be the best 15u team in the Houston area.

There is a ton of talent in the 5 Burroughs. They all leave though. Syracuse ends up with some of them. But the city is, and always has been, a basketball town.

I've been in the Shaka camp die a while. However, in addition to Avery Johnson, heard John Lucas' name today as well. Not sure how he would do on the college sidelines but he would be the greatest recruiter in the history of CBB in this state.

They are listed as such. Have several of Prestonwood's guys, including Schneider Herard...I am guessing they are.

Defenders beat Team Texas EYBL in the semis of the SIB but I did not see that game. I have seen small bits of a few of their games but not enough to compare them to the other 3.

They did win the platinum bracket at the Ice Breaker but did play the Hoops. I have seen 3 EYBL teams so far, including the Hoops, and they were the weakest of the three.

He's also a Brooklyn guy/playground legend there. If he can even keep a few city kids there each year, will be home run hire.

Making almost the same amount money - maybe more depending on incentives. Tennessee can be a very good job. If you just get the top players out of Memphis, you can be a national player.

Knew it was too good to be true. Although the "no talks" can be semantics. Like Saban never talked to Texas...however, his agent was living on the phone with Texas people right until he got fed up and signed his new deal with Bama. Strange that the talk has been about Shaka (the alum choice) and not Marshall (who supposedly is the one Patterson wants).

He would probably do pretty well there. SEC is a top heavy conference and isn't near as deep as what he's used to. He does really well and finishing near the top in conference and getting in the tournament.

He was gone regardless. Did not get along with Barnes but obviously didn't matter either way.

Let it be Duke-Kentucky. It's what we all want to see. And rarely do we get that type of matchup. And for this year, go Big Blue!!

Idk about that. But he's definitely in the conversation. I don't have a problem with someone putting him #1 though. One thing is for certain - Kentucky will have the 4th best Xs and Os guy at the Final Four. I absolutely put Izzo, Bo Ryan, and both Coach K and Mark Few above him.

No doubt. I put him #2 behind Coach K.

Mainly size. Main thing I saw that would give Silsbee fits.

Houston Defenders 17u UAA team just beat Texas Lightning by 20 in the semifinals of the Great American Shootout in Dallas. The Lightning is made up of a lot of Bridgeport's HS team and is coached by Brad Chasteen, a former HS Coach from South Grand Prarie and Coppell with over 500 wins before being hired by Mark Cuban's brother in law to coach his AAU team. Devonte Patterson is a beast. I will say this. Silsbee may have a state championship in its future but I can't imagine it will be next year.
