I am a huge believer in the principle of "innocent until proven guilty." But this case really bothers me. Hardy was found guilty after a trial before a judge, and sentenced to 18 mos probation. He then appealed to have a trial before a jury (a two bites at the apple rule they have in Carolina if you're convicted in a bench trial - judge only trial). I would even cut the guy some slack if he had been acquitted by a jury after a second trial. But paying the girl money to have her not appear again is a miscarriage of justice imo. I will root for the Cowboys as I always have. But I am not at all happy we signed this a-hole. I am for as lengthy a suspension as possible.
I agree. Zjori Bosha had a solid frehman season. He's going to be even better with the new guys coming in. The shooter Nick Garth from Cy Lakes is going to complement him well. They should both help open things up for the each other.
Not sure. There was a kid about that height whose dad is a coach at Central. They have a kid from Austin with some size. And a 6'5 kid that went to Marshall this year.
The Defenders 17u circuit team (after dropping a pool play game to Nike Pro Skills EYBL) came back to win the Platinum Bracket (the top one). Congrats to TJ Atwood and teammates on an impressive victory to start the season!
Forgot to mention that Brady didn't have all his kids this weekend. Not sure who all but Grayland didn't play which obviously is a HUGE piece missing. His kids did not get outplayed. Size was a killer. They win that game by double digits if they do a better job of boxing out in the 2h.
They won their tournament last weekend against Louisiana Elite, a premiere national program. They were a heavy favorite to win the Icebreaker this weekend. Do you know who they play?
The better teams are the better passing teams, same as most basketball. The local kids have been playing summers since 6th grade or earlier and the Houston kids are blending in better every day. Very unselfish kids. Which is one of the main reason they are as good as they are. As for the older kids, catch a JJ Caldwell game sometime. He's a 4 point, 17 assists a game kind of PG. Super strong and quick with the ball. He gets to the paint and has a field day dropping dimes.
Practice twice a week. The benefit for the 15s is they practice with and against the circuit 17s. So twice a week they are running against JJ Caldwell, Greg Shead, Kameron McGusty, TJ Atwood, Jeremy Peck, etc. You can't find that kind of competition locally. After that, playing up against 16s doesn't seem that bad ;)
I caught the Defenders 17u Circuit team's games against Franchize last night and Nike Pro Skills EYBL team this afternoon. Sick amount of talent in those games. And the size you saw from the 5A and 6A teams from Dallas at state.
Jaylon Williams - Cleveland
Jomard Valsin - Kelly
Jakobe Dill - Kelly
Trey Keller - Memorial
LiJon Smith - West Brook
Alex Catt - Orangefield
Other players are: Hunter Quick - 6'8 - Brazosport; Jordan Mays - 6'4" - Houston; Damay Jones - 6'2" - Pasadena Dobie; and Tayjon Martin - 5'9" Cy Fair
Defenders 15u circuit team is 3-0 so far playing up in 16u. Just beat a team by 33 that lost earlier this weekend to Dwight Howard 16u on a buzzer beater. Jaylon Williams from Cleveland is a straight up beast.
