  1. He now has a fan for life in me. I don't even mind it was my Celtics he beat in the effort. [Hidden Content]
  2. And let me amend the above to say "some Aggies." I know plenty of Ags who think the whole thing is as silly as I do. As I would guess the other SEC schools would. Given the locations of its conference mates, it is a breeding ground for "t shirt fans." Heck, the state of Louisiana is one giant purple and gold t shirt.
  3. Ran out of likes. Great post. Was in Rupp Arena last weekend with 24k other folks. I would guess over half were "t shirt" fans according to aggy. Was in Lexington all weekend. Never heard the term once. Never heard it in DKR either. Heard it a bunch in Aggieland. It's an aggy thing. I guess it's kind of like squeezing your junk when you need a score. You'd have to be a gomer to get it...
  4. Yep. Next year they should be one of your Wildcats' toughest opponents. If they aren't, they should send Kennedy to the same home they sent Fran.
  5. I was told by someone who I consider to be an extremely reliable source that he had "no shot" at getting the job. I didn't ask nor was I given an explanation. I can only assume now that the person knew four people would definitely vote no.
  6. Don't read Chip. I get my news a little closer to the source. And by a little, I mean a lot. It's a fact Jack. This isn't connect the dots/let's match up records. It does give the conference an explanation why it didn't choose to give the people the game it wanted. Texas wanted it, and the Texas Bowl obviously wanted it. Texas accepted the bid not knowing who it was going to get, but hoping for the Ags. The SEC said no thanks. Do I think the Ags had anything to do with not playing in the game? I lean toward no. I don't think Slive is too awfully concerned with whether they did or they didn't. I'm sure he would listen but his directives come from a much higher power. He and the sec knows the Aggies are just so happy to be able to sit at the big boy table now. But do I think the sec would have not only said No, but Hell No to giving the Longhorns a chance to B-Slap the Aggies in a highly anticipated rematch of the rivalry? Of course. And that is exactly what happened. Chimp printed a story he was fed to throw down the proverbial gauntlet while thinking he had a scoop. And it served its purpose. Do I think the Aggies are yellow? I don't know if they wanted to play or not. Did they have a choice? No. Did the SEC make them look yellow? Yes. Does the SEC care? No. It's certainly better to appear weak than to have that confirmed in front of millions on national tv.
  7. If God has any interest in football, the Irish win. Since I'm pretty sure He could care less, I'll take the drunken Cajuns.
  8. If tcu shows up to play and doesn't mail it as we've seen some teams do when they don't get the bid they want, they beat the hell out of ole miss. Too much firepower on offense and an underrated defense. One of the best, if not the best, teams in the country. Period.
  9. Will help the Aggie cause as well if Peyton Allen is able to make some 3s tonight. He's another freshman who is from Illinois. Kid is capable of filling it up from beyond the arc.
  10. Absolutely. If I were handicapping it, I would say Baylor should win by around 10, give or take. However, if A&M definitely has a chance. Never know how shots are going to fall in a basketball game. I like Baylor's horses a little more, but A&M has a decent team. Aggie guard Alex Caruso is capable of having huge games and was co-sec player of the week last week. He can fill up a highlight reel but is also turnover prone at times. He has to take care of the ball. U of H transfer Danuel House is another player who should improve steadily. Nice size and tons of talent. I expect him to get better almost each game.
  11. I am quite certain I'm not the only one who will be 1000 times more interested in watching the Browns on Sunday. Love him or hate him - he's one of a handful who is an instant ratings boost.
  12. To me, it is a crap shoot. I worry much more about Johnny's off the field crap than his ability. Both can certainly play. But who ends up a quality NFL QB is unpredictable at best. The ones who seem to have the longest, more productive careers seem to be those who put in the most hours, especially off the field. I have no idea how much time either of these guys spend doing that. You are exactly right - only time will tell.
  13. The Texas vs A&M matchup was never going to happen. Charlie Strong has vocalized that this was the matchup he and his players were hoping for. Whether or not A&M wanted the game varies depending on who you talk to. Ultimately, it is irrelevant. The game was never going to happen because the SEC was never going to risk damaging its Texas progress when the Aggies are "so down." SECond to no one in running scared...
  14. I don't know what it is with aggy and the t shirt thing. Funny, they don't realize they are slamming some of their own fans. OldTimer, for instance, says he didn't go to A&M but he is a good, enthusiastic supporter of the university and its teams. But he is a "t shirt" fan according to some. Last I checked, people are allowed to root for whomever they want and ANY school is more than happy to take their patronage dollars. I had a guy that was at least 75 calling me a t shirt fan at the 05 game at Kyle. He was angry and belligerent and didn't like it when I explained some of us are, in fact, intelligent enough to get into the University, even its graduate school. He was to the point of trying to pick a fight with me until I politely asked his wife to get a handle on him before he hurt himself. I know a lot of Aggies that are great and I enjoy their friendship very much. But some, even on this site, just appear to be angry and bitter...
  15. Based that off a relative of mine who is a ticket broker. Certainly wasn't there so I can't argue with you on those numbers. Had NO idea tcu only has 80k living alumni. To have that kind of turnout with those numbers is crazy. And for what it's worth, heard today that TCU would be a 4 pt underdog against Alabama on a neutral site and Baylor would be a 7 pt dog. What's the line again in the Sugar Bowl?
  16. It's elementary really. When you've always been relegated to second class citizen, you grow to hate the first class citizens. ;)
  17. 100% correct. To be more specific, scared of losing increased success in Texas HS recruiting if someone's arse gets kicked.
  18. You have to understand, pride at impact. Aggy poor compared to UT. They need that dough to pay off all the retarded raises and extensions they hand out.
  19. A&M & Big Winner. "What are two things rarely used in the same sentence, Alex."
  20. Link? The truth of the matter is Texas accepted the bid regardless of opponent. THEN the sec chose arky to fill that spot. I don't blame them - they put aggy up against a team that Texas beat soundly and put Arkansas against Texas, a team anyone with vision can see was playing better at the end of the year than aggy. Spin it anyway you want - the SEC does not want to lose that game and for sure does not want to see the Horns take aggy to the shed. They made a shrewd move to make sure that didn't happen.
  21. True. And the sugar bowl are the easiet tickets to move in general anyway. New Orleans on New Years is a little more appealing than Phoenix.
