  1. The bosses in Belmont should be more worried than Strong. Patterson pissed a lot of people off in the hiring process and put all his eggs in Charlie's basket. If Charlie doesn't work out, he's the first to go. Speaking of administration, don't think replacing the yell leader with a longhorn in the governor's mansion won't be felt either. Abbott is a rabid longhorn football fan and has plenty of capital coming from the billionaire boys club.
  2. :D - I hear ya. And you definitely do. I would bet walmart is ordering a lot more maroon than in days past!
  3. Yes it is :). I know the feeling. And Aggies are loyal fans and should enjoy every second of it!
  4. Enjoy it while it lasts. Strong will either be the guy or he won't. Eventually, with the resources it has, the right guy will be hired (if it's not Charlie). And then sumlin or whoever is in Aggieland has to recruit school vs school, brand vs brand, and city vs city. A 100 year sample size (not the last 2) tells me he loses that battle.
  5. Well, he would be the most popular NFL commissioner in history. There would be a full on strike by his second week but the fans would love him.
  6. Two other basketball schools have - Missouri and A&M* *girls' basketball
  7. Kinda what I expect too. I will go 52-24.
  8. IMO, I think those are the best two sec teams. I give a slight edge to the Ags but maybe not enough to overcome home field advantage.
  9. I agree with pretty much all of this. Auburn, to me, is the biggest hurdle. Playing them on the road is always tough and gus malzahn is always tough to defend.
  10. Amen. Ash devoted a lot of his time to the FCA in Austin. The guy that was (and maybe still is) running that group is from Orange. Said Ash is one of the most genuine, likable kids he's ever met.
  11. This. That team was Butch's and should have gone back to back undefeated. Forgive Mack, King. He's not familiar with post WWII championships...
  12. 7th place finish Lock-n-Load. Actually tied for 7th place. And enough with the division crap. They don't give trophies for winning that. The pathetic conference humping is enough without breaking it down further.
  13. I'll field that one. Lester has never beaten the Longhorns. He was elated to have them off his schedule each year when he left Okie St.
  14. Team A - won a MNC in the last decade and played for another. Team B - couldn't compete with Team A so ran to another conference so it could claim the achievements of its conference mates. Team B fans are still entertaining.
  15. ^ 😂😂😂 You can't make posts like this up. "And Lamar really played well against Southeast Westen Oklahoma State Bible College..."
  16. Kinda like when Utah beat Bama?
  17. ^^^^ See, the way football works is you're the champion until you're not. Actually, that's sports. They don't give out trophies or crystal footballs in September. So FSU is the champ until someone takes it from them this year, IF they do. Hth
  18. Asu ranked pretty high too but I am never a believer in the az schools. Always seem to lose big games.
  19. Fsu beat the best of the best in the sec. Therefore fsu > sec. Hth
  20. A&M too low IMO. Through yesterday, I would go: 1) fsu 2) A&M 3) auburn 4) Baylor 5) OU And how is Mich Aggy in the top 10? What would your top 5 be?
  21. Most years they drop at least one conference game though. Stanford, USC, and UCLA could certainly trip them up if they are off and Oregon state is always a battle. Washington is 4-0 but only beat Hawaii by 1 pt. Anyway, PAC 12 isn't a cakewalk and was, IMO, the best conference last year.
  22. I agree CS is nicer. But that statement is a little extreme. I'm not sure Deweyville makes CS look like Manhattan.
  23. Actually either of those schools could very well make the playoff with one loss.
  24. ^ Forgot about that one. Playoff elimination game?
  25. Leach made Sonny Cumby look like a stud. As for your question, that's a good one. If they have trouble with Wazzu, can you imagine what a team with talent like A&M would do against that defense? Unless it was a complete off game, I would guess no. In fact, they won't make the playoffs if they don't play better than that - they could lose a couple of games before then.
