  1. 6-1 Texas still batting btm 3. Fight at the bat rack.
  2. Orangefield's Jace Statum knocks in a run for the Ags. Horns lead 3-1 top of 3rd.
  3.   His brother is an unbelievable hooper (6'8").  Mikey and Mickey to Lubbock.  I don't think this deal gets done with out Tubby on the scene either.  I also think A&M would have gotten them both if their basketball program wasn't a dumpster fire right now.
  4.   Yes it would be.  He is excellent at returns as well.  Hard to believe he was the second best on his HS team at it though.  Deon Beasley was one of the best I've ever seen at the HS level with returns.
  5. I wish ol' Johnny was still playing CFB with a game in Jones Stadium in Lubbock next year.  The sight of Vienna sausage can flying out of the crowd would be epic.
  6.   I agree.  I would have loved to see who voted how.  But I really don't see that vote ever happening now.  The agreement to sell renders it moot.  I really believe there was some serious arm twisting going on behind the scenes by the other owners for this "solution" so they wouldn't be forced to make this vote.
  7.   Exactly.  I'm not quite sure how to take the fact that people are surprised she was convicted because there were three African Americans on the jury.  If you were on a jury where a white man or woman was being tried for a crime and that individual was captured on camera committing this crime, would you vote to acquit just because they share your race?  Of course not.  Why would you think someone of a different ethnicity would be any different?  I would hope most of us moral, principled people who take any oath we take seriously, regardless of our race.
  8. You should join me in the ACLU!! 😀
  9. Donald Sterling proved how clueless he is (in addition to the deep-seeded hatred he harbors) in the Cooper interview. What has Magic Johnson done for the African American community??? Does the man ever read?? It was very telling to watch his interview and then watch Magic's. Two different classes of human beings. As for Lebron and other players' "stances," they have every right to use their status to try to bring about something good and productive in the league in which they are employed. I applaud him and have much more respect for someone who uses their status as a platform rather than remaining silent. Great change requires action, even if it is merely by being heard.
  10.   May be the funniest thing ever posted on this board.  Seriously??
  11. (He says with his tongue firmly embedded in his cheek...)
  12. Thank you for the info (no sarcasm). I was about to ask if anyone knew when the last time that had happened. I wouldn't have dreamt it would have been that long. This is quite an indictment of Mack and his coaches. Although they routinely got who they wanted (this class was the best in the state and, I think, #2 in the country), failure to develop has been a constant theme. The fact that the #1 kid in this class in the country, Jackson Jeffcoat, failed to get picked is perhaps the most telling. I realize he's been injured but c'mon! Thankfully, Charlie Strong's Louisville kids were the polar opposite in this draft.
  13. I know this is old news now BUT - Can someone enlighten me on how GS fires Mark Jackson? His team has improved each year he has coached them and been very competitive in the playoffs. They play hard and are exciting to watch. In the NFL, he would get a raise. Reminds me of last year when Karl gets fired AND wins coach of the year. One of the reasons it is hard for me to get excited about the NBA.
  14. Definitely good pick by Houston. King - love Jax second two picks but I haven't drank the Bortles kool aid yet. If I was going QB with that pick, I would have gone Manziel. But what the heck do I know? Bortles may finally give them the QB they've been searching for.
  15. So you are saying a 10% chance just dropped to 0%?
  16. It is true that no race has the corner on ignorance and hate. It is also true that you and I can't possibly understand what some of our brothers and sisters of color have endured at the hands of racism. We can only empathize and do our part to eliminate the past within ourselves and our families. A wise man knows the proper time to beat his drum and when to put his sticks down. Sometimes there is a fine line between deflection and justification.
  17. I am probably way in the minority on this sentiment but I actually feel sorry for Donald Sterling.  He is obviously full of hate and ignorance that all the money in the world couldn't solve.  He will die alone, a miserable man.  He never opened his mind and heart up the beauty of all races, to the blessings of diversity.  I can honestly, without a doubt say that as a white man, my life is so much richer due to the close friendships and brotherhood/sisterhood I have with my loved ones of color.  Knowledge and understanding is a beautiful thing that is available to anyone who seeks it.  I am happy and thankful that much (and I believe the great majority) of this country has moved past racism.  I am also saddened that this type of thought still exists.  I am afraid the saying "stupid is forever" may be accurate.
  18.   I am glad he landed somewhere other than Houston or Dallas.  But hopefully he can break the string of busts there.  It's not impossible...Bernie Kosar had a very decent career in Cleveland.
  19. I tend to share the same opinion. However, as I've said many times, I hope he does well at the next level. The NFL will be a better product with him as a star. The love em or hate em types are always good for sports. Whether he will be a smashing success remains to be seen. As you say, there are a lot of ?s to be answered with him. I hope they are answered positively. Off subject - if you haven't seen it, YouTube Manziel dunking basketballs. It is pretty darn impressive for a 5'11" kid. Serious hops. And gives you a better idea how freaking big his hands are.
  20. Exactly like Brady Quinn in '07. Was like déjà vu tonight. Both even went exactly at #22 to Cleveland. Let's hope his career takes a better path. I would think and hope so.
  21. Louisville with 3 first round picks.  Wow.
  22. How does Louisville have 2 picks in the first round when Strong sucks so bad at recruiting?
