  1. And the first of my Final Four teams go down. If Louisville, Mich St, Fla and Wisc made it to Dallas, I would have made a lot of money. Still can if Mich St wins it all. But I love this Kentucky team and how it's peaking at the right time. And I loved them +165 on the money line last night!
  2.   They schedule it opposite opening weekend of March Madness.   They schedule it before the exhibition games are even over.  You are 100% correct.
  3. I agree. Rick Smith needs to get rid of that tar baby and get more players with it. Terrible year to be picking #1.
  4. But again, you deflect from the issue with those comments. I don't care who you are - JF's workout today was beyond impressive. Whether he goes #1 or not, he made $$$ today. His agent couldn't be happier. Good for him - I hope he does well. If he does, it will be great for the league.
  5. Although we are on different sides of the fence, I usually respect your posts. This one is just thoughtless or blinded by hatred. Strong came in at the end of recruiting and he's proven he can't recruit? Seriously? Ask the coaches at the Florida schools if they agree with you. And do you think the pro day turnouts were about the states of the programs or whether one had a potential #1 pick? Guess how many teams were present during Vince's pro day workout? More than were in CS today. Of course, they did get to trip to Austin too which was an added benefit...
  6. Sorry - I don't disagree with much, if anything you say here. Just saying there are better examples. FYI - Real Sports did a piece on the NCAA this week that was excellent (Bernard Goldberg reporting). I fear that the "student athlete" has not existed for the most part in the big programs for a long time. The system is already broke, and I really don't have any answer to fix it.
  7.   Actually, use the MLB if you want to make an anti-union argument.  The success of the NFL and the inability of the NFLPA to get a CBA akin to baseball's has created a parity like no other league.  And the result is the most popular sport in the land by a MILE, including CFB...
  8.   Without the law degree and the personal poise, of course...
  9.   Honestly, if I'm Rick Smith and I'm choosing between Bridgewater and JF, it's a no brainer.  I've never been overly impressed with Teddy and he played against MUCH weaker competition than Manziel.  I REALLY like Rick Smith though and hate taking a QB here with what's available.  Why can't Houston be as lucky (no pun intended) and have a #1 pick when Peyton Manning or Andrew Luck is available?  Colts have to be the luckiest franchise in sports.
  10. I agree. I heard her mid range jumper was decent. Just had a hard time reading defenses...
  11. Too funny (and too true)...
  12. Buddy G - the twins have played their best basketball of the season the last two weeks (by far). This looks like a team coming together at the right time. And who wouldn't rather see one of the sport's best rivalries in the sweet 16? Already looking forward to it!
  13.   I had Harvard.  Tommy Amaker has done a hell of a job with that program.    Unfortunately, Dayton beating Ohio St. and ND St. beating OU ruined my perfect bracket.  Figures...can't stand either one of those teams.
  14. We've actually lost less than we expected.  Those boys have been through boot camp.  Expected much more attrition.  Something tells me little brother over in B/CS isn't going to be laughing at the product on the field.  Mark my words, you are going to see a very physical team under Strong.  The country club days are over under this regime.  I would be more concerned about the state of your team after a tie for 7th place finish (with powerhouse Vanderbilt) with the greatest QB in the history of your program...
  15. I like Izzo and Sparty to bring it home.
  16. I've seen Jared a few times. Definitely big time.
  17. I saw that live. Who was the kid that threw that nice no look lob?? ;) By the way, first time seeing De'Aaron Fox in person. Wow.
  18.   I agree but they only have themselves to blame.  No excuse in hoops not to schedule some strong teams.  30+ games and no one is afraid of a loss.  The big programs have learned to err on the side of strength of schedule with the NCAA Selections Committee.  That's what got an NC St team in over SMU.  Hopefully, Larry Brown is in the process of righting that wrong.  I would bet he is.
  19. Harrison twins looked amazing against UGA in semis. If they find their stride, look out.
  20. I thought Scott was the kid that was receiving rave reviews in offseason workouts. I could be wrong. If so, that's a big loss.
  21. Definitely the place to be this weekend. All the top teams in the greater Houston area plus many around the State and surrounding states. Good luck Bigcam and the Blazers!
  22.   Hmmm, desperation...kind of like finding a couple of MNCs over last summer.  You know, the ones no other self-respecting school with a strong history claims?  The funniest part was that you left one out, just to make it not sooo obvious you were DESPERATELY trying to keep up with the Joneses.  Otherwise, you would have mysteriously had the same number as The University of Texas has in real ones.  Yeah that worked.   I wonder if the school you call desperate will do the same thing to jack our number up to 15 national championships?  No, no one else is THAT pathetic.  Lol
  23. The butt hurt among Aggies over the LHN is still strong, my friends.  As Exhibit 1, I present this thread.
  24. I don't know about "top" backup. Colt McCoy is a backup for the 9ers.
  25. Yes, because Clinton's improprieties were swept under the rug by the "liberal media." They weren't front page stories for months. They weren't talked about during his campaign either. Do you really believe the stuff you say? Smh... As for Herman Cain, I don't recall the Dems making a decision on his candidacy. Did I miss where he secured the nomination from his party? I realize this is a bigger issue with the radical right - and people are free to make their voting decisions are whatever criteria they choose. But to suggest his fate was determined by the Democrats is disingenuous at best. Perhaps the "kool alders" are voting in the same primary as you are?
