  1. We root for Al-Qaeda against OU. Kind of like you guys do with us.
  2. Agreed. Congrats Aggies - just make sure the dirt burglars don’t make it out of our bracket please.
  3. Sigh*. ND owns us the way we own Alabama.
  4. Fight at the Sooners’ bat rack in Omaha. Come on aggy! For once in your existence can you not just be happy to be there??
  5. And I’ve always respected AAW’s strict opposition to it. He’s a purist and I appreciate that. Because if ever a program was geared for the shot clock, it’s the Silsbee tigers. They haven’t had a possession lasting more than 30 seconds since January of 1973…
  6. I agree. That’s the biggest if though. I love the shot clock. But it is imperative you have someone competent to operate it. If not, the whole game is spent with Refs (who let’s face it, are generally not ready for prime time to begin with) consumed with resetting the shot clock to such and such time. As a result, the device intended to speed up games, actually brings them to a grinding halt. I say all that as one of the scoreboard operators of all time. I am dreadful at it. Shot clock is a way more tasking job. You almost need a 4th referee to do it. My thought would be to implement it for 6A and 5A, if you are going to do it. But the other part of me, even though I hate watching teams hold the ball, knows that Milan, Indiana never happens with a shot clock.
  7. The university of Texas would like to welcome everyone to Disch Falk North. Please behave yourselves while you are here, and pick up after yourselves when you leave.
  8. I tend to agree with you both.
  9. And for the record, I was a huge fan of Bullock’s game. In fact, one of those summers, we had a team led by Kam McGusty and JJ Caldwell. Our shooter was a kid named Justin McCormack who became the all time leading scorer at Houston Christian (subsequently passed by Noah Kon). Anyway, McCormack was an incredible shooter, but I told the guy who coached the team there was kid from Dallardsville named Angel who was better.
  10. The following year is the one I was talking about. He led the team with 13 but put up a lot of shots for that 13 as I recall. Just a bad shooting night which happens to everyone. Having said that, guilty as charged as far as being an old head. I did not see them play as much as many of you, but I saw several games in that span. Agree to disagree on who was the best player he coached. Benson was a more complete player in my book. But will agree Thompson was the most talented.
  11. My bad. I was thinking it was just before the move to SA but wasn’t sure. And yes, Angel was crafty around the basket too. Benson just was a more complete player. Including being a far better defender. But I will say that Angel was a better defender than his God given gifts would probably justify, largely due to the basketball iq you speak of. That team definitely could have gotten a ring. But when you rely largely on jump shots, it’s tough to win do or die games at State when you have one where you can’t hit the broad side of the barn.
  12. Tough decision but I really think Kelly will be fine whether the choose Toby or Art Briles. Either should enjoy great success there.
  13. Agree with all of that. Benson was the best player he coached. Angel going Ice cold in Austin was tough to overcome. And he certainly was one of the better shooters around here in the past decade or so. But top to bottom, offense and defense, Williams was clearly better to me. His brother was no slouch either. And Foster is as good as it gets at the HS level. Put him with some programs around here and let him “recruit”, good Lord it would be scary.
  14. I guess this as good a place as any, I thought of @no-look and Stevenash yesterday. My oldest son got back from visiting family in Dallas and informed me had gotten ticket in Huntington, going 10 miles over the speed limit. He got a very unexpected reaction out of me when I started laughing and told him the “gestapo” had gotten him. I miss our old pal.
  15. POTD! 😂🤣 And D = Decade by the way.
  16. Also sounded to me like Jimbo has quite a lot of dirt on St Nick too. Sounded like he would be wise to keep those apologies coming.
  17. Jimbo IS right and Saban did come off as a whiny little b_____. I saw Bryce Anderson’s dad talk about it on Facebook as being the perfect storm with LSU firing Coach O, Riley leaving Ou, and Texas having a dismal first year under Sark. He’s not wrong. But A&M also was better organized and ahead of the curve with the NIL stuff. Don’t hate the player, Nick, hate the game. And the same money that has made you fat and sassy all these years is finally getting spread among the players. You whining about it is a bad look with future recruits.
  18. Someone taught Jumbo the word “despicable” today. Fella got his miles out of it….
  19. A senior citizen drove his brand new Corvette convertible out of the dealership. Taking off down the road, he floored it to 80 mph, enjoying the wind blowing through what little gray hair he had left. Amazing, he thought as he flew down I-94, pushing the pedal even more. Looking in his rear view mirror, he saw a state trooper behind him, lights flashing and siren blaring. He floored it to 100 mph, then 110, then 120. Suddenly he thought, What am I doing? I'm too old for this, and pulled over to await the trooper's arrival. Pulling in behind him, the trooper walked up to the Corvette, looked at his watch, and said, "Sir, my shift ends in 30 minutes. Today is Friday. If you can give me a reason for speeding that I've never heard before, I'll let you go." The old gentleman paused. Then he said, "Years ago, my wife ran off with a state trooper. I thought you were bringing her back." "Have a good day, sir," replied the trooper.
  20. I saw that. Whatever happened to, “this is funny, I don’t care who you are”? In a time where we really need to laugh more often, it seems humor is more restricted than ever. I saw someone posted a “snopes investigation” on it and wondered, who was dim enough to waste snopes’ time over an obvious joke? But not on this thread baby!
  21. BREAKING NEWS: Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike’s owner Richard Dawson turns down a meeting at the White House with Joe Biden. When asked why, Mr. Dawson replied, “If my horse wanted to see a horse’s ass, he would've finished second.”
  22. Obsession is a powerful thing. But at least those gomers will vote the way they are told, even if it means bringing big brother into the party to which they were so proud of having the exclusive invite (and swearing they were told it would NEVER happen).
  23. The nation’s best grassroots teams have all D1 players, many of which are high major kids. We have one this year (Arceneaux) and one next year (Yates). Maybe others I am not thinking of, but not many. That should answer your question.
  24. Thirdkill can play and will be the 4th 3 star (I believe) on Lamar’s roster (along with Adams, Reyes and Catt). And I can tell you that Anderson and the PG Pryor will be immediate big impact guys.
