Area - Big Sandy vs. Cushing - BS WINS!

Lol exactly what I was thinking. That first round game had to be painful. -
What dedication and hard work will get you.

Kid is legit. Got a chance to see him play last summer in Indy. One of the most amazing thing I’ve seen in basketball. -
I’m guessing video isn’t loading on your page.

Yeah that’s the difference lol. I’m just glad Ashlon is getting to join all those Orangefield girls already playing for Duke. Sarcasm aside, HJ’s talent along with coaching is deadly. Hell their assistant coach is one of the best high school coaches in the state (I presume - I know Omar’s coaching prowess. My sample size is small because girls’ basketball in general makes my eyes bleed.) As for Wildcatter, if you think he does anything except try to do his best by kids, you don’t know him very well. And yes, he knows a thing or two about basketball too, even if he is from Kentucky 😉

As great as those games sound (and when AAW tells you a game was enjoyable, I have no doubt), this thread is better. It’s becoming the gift that keeps on giving on this glorious Friday. 😳😂 -

I don’t have an issue with that list. Ford was some kind of special. -

Amen to all of that. And at first I would rather have drawn Huffman but based upon the train wreck that appears to be unfolding in Fannett, I’ve changed my mind. -

A better discussion of this year’s Bobcats would be Coach McDonald. We talk a lot about good coaches in that district, but AT BEST he had the 4th most talented team in that district and finished solo second behind Silsbee. All this while missing either his best or second best player for much of the district season. Tremendous job coaching. -

That was a GREAT team. You had a lot of guys who could play but man did y’all play together. And well coached. -

Four good ones? We counting freshman and JV years? And in one year, he set the career blocks record, rebound record and was as gifted a passer as just about any guard out there. He also is probably a better on ball defender, even vs guards, as any bobcat. Look I know you got caught up in hyperbole but the original statement of the best player since Austin Farias was just craziness (although Austin was more than 10 years ago too). Chris Ford was before then but he’s one of the best. I would have to spend more time than I would care to but off the top of my head, Matt Kress way better. His brother Kaleb as well when his head was screwed on straight. The Wiley’s, especially Carmichael. Wrinkle’s game reminds me somewhat of Wesley Frillou’s who was probably the 3rd or 4th best player on the ‘17 team. I will say he is probably the best cross country runner in the past 10 years though by a good margin. And good kid and nice player on the hardwood as well. -

Maybe a good place to start would be the best team (wins, playoff wins) in the history of the school? Might want to start there. I mean, that is if you value players who rebound and play defense lol. -
Yeah pretty much worst case scenario for Kountze. But you never know.
-
No one who knew what Bridge City had coming back would have had them in the top 4. Maybe in the top 6 if you had them over Vidor.

Not in this next year’s class to my knowledge. Not sure we have anyone locally who would fit the bill (other than one or ones who have already signed).

Injured. He didn’t make the trip. Jefferson on trip but on bench with a boot. Winning games without a PG is kind of like winning games without a QB. But I guess if the Saints could do it 9 times this season…

Yes. The long stretch before the Rideaux hire. HF was very formidable in the time frame you are talking about. -
“Red rover, red rover send Harris on over!” Stay tuned to the next Lumberton game when they will unveil the hardwood version of Duck, Duck, Goose.

Used to run that play in Little Dribblers all the time when my oldest was a little kid. It works like a charm against 7 year olds. And apparently sometimes on the high school level too. -

Yeah this is the second time the Tigers have played a sloppy 1h, only to come out foaming at the mouth to start the second in the last couple of weeks. I will be honest, I’m not surprised. Sigler scares me a little too. -

Meh, more a case of horrible defense. That play is as old as Methuselah. I do enjoy seeing how happy some on here get when HF takes a loss. Pretty humorous how times have changed. When my boys played, if mediocre teams didn’t 30 piece the Longhorns everyone was disappointed.
