No they weren’t. MaxPreps isn’t your friend. But they were good, didn’t mean to imply they weren’t. They just lost that triumvirate of guards (two of which are playing at a high level in D1 basketball) and weren’t as good as those previous teams that battled with Silsbee. But they were MUCH better than this year’s team obviously. -

I was. I originally thought he was and then read something to thinking he had another year. Man I hate that for him. Can’t imagine what he must be going through. I don’t know him but based on what I’ve heard from multiple people who I respect, he’s a really good kid. Unfortunately, even good kids do stupid stuff sometimes. -

The Huffman run last year was anomaly. Region wasn’t the usual juggernaut, hell a team that was freshman/JV aged from Silsbee could have won it. Not that they weren’t good but still. Yates was and is on the decline. HH also had a really good 4A player that was a coach on the floor. Point being, Silsbee is really still the only southeast Texas team that has the goods to run with the big boys on a consistent basis. Arguing who is the best in 21-4A is ultimately arguing who is perhaps going to get a win or two in the playoffs. -

Nimitz has won 21 games this year. They won 16 in the last 2 years combined. First playoff win in over a decade. Same team came back. Thanks for making my point for me 😂🤣 -
He’s always at it lol

Great finish to season Mustangs. Hopefully gives them something to build on next year. -

Meanwhile, Tigee turns around Nimitz in year one. If he had stuck around, HF either wins that district or shares the title imo. He’s that good. And no one bring up last year unless you’ve been asleep since for the last 2 years. -

Look I would love for WOS to pull this out. But even this very down Yates team is double digits better than the Stangs on most nights. But I REALLY hope I’m wrong.
-
Not arguing that. If we confined “most talented” to the guitar, you’re spot on.

Wow another list Rolling Stone butchered 😏😉

No but that’s the term the kids are using these days 😂. Well my kids anyway.
-
That’s a really good win for the Dogs. I haven’t seen Manvel this year but the McDowell kid is a player. I’m sure they have some decent pieces around him at least.

For sure. I don’t know if it is possible to more competitive than this year but next season should have 4 really good playoff teams regardless. -
Not to mention a ref could slip. Some of the ones I’ve seen in our area look to have “vulnerable hips” as well…
-
I can’t get enough of him. Maybe it’s because I’m an “old head” as well, but I also love that he does his act without cursing every other word. There is still something to be said, in my book, for being a comedian who could do his act in church.
-
Maybe it’s because we are country folk but this guy kills me.

Dave Grohl, (mentioned by CB) who I personally think is as talented as anyone in today’s music, has said in many interviews that it’s Prince and then you can argue after him. It’s obviously just an opinion but I happen to share it. My favorite though is Clapton’s comment. When he was asked what it felt like to be the world’s greatest guitarist he replied, “I don’t know. Ask Prince.”
-
Abso-freaking-lutely. I’m not sure if the Prince show is even able to be topped. There’s a reason so many of the greats call him the most talented musician of all time. Because he was.

You may be right. Honestly that was just a guess. Sometimes attitudes can be more devastating than what the talent brings. But it was just a guess. I was hoping with hi, walking off that OF caught a break (even though Huffman was pretty mediocre this year). Apparently not. HF is not short on talent even without that kid.
