  1. You’re asking a lot for them to get wins and losses correct.
  2. Thats what I thought too. Personally would go Bama-Uga-Michigan-Cincy. Now, I think it may be Mich-Bama-Cincy-UGA.
  3. Playing BU without Arceneaux…well, you know. Tells you how good BU to is.
  4. I didn’t take it as you were being critical at all. Comes from a great family. Very devout in his faith, tireless worker, coachable, and a great teammate.
  5. They will be 6A very soon. Anyone with a kid good at any of the sports they offer (which is all of them) moves out. That team collects state championships like a far kid collects cake.
  6. Perfectly stated. And that’s saying something because Silsbee is looking like a legit title contender. But speaks to just how good United is. You don’t see two talents like theirs on public school teams anymore. And they are by no means without tremendous help from others. United is like a team put together by a GM with no salary cap. Except they all are from the same town. Remarkably talented.
  7. He has come a long way. He’s basically a year ahead in school too. Will start college at 17. And you will never meet a nicer kid - they don’t exist.
  8. Totally agree. Loved that guy.
  9. I don’t spend much time in on this board but I lurk occasionally. I have seen many discussions about coaches, players, Jimmy and Joes, etc. I think @Reagan will be able to point to Eric Peevey to support his importance of coaching argument. One of the most incredible things I’ve seen in his immediate transformation of that program. Good luck Bears and Stangs tonight. OC over everyone.
  10. Ok, there is a long way to go this season. But these more than impressive wins are stacking. I really thought this team would make a run this year but was a year or so away from seriously challenging for another ring. I think at a minimum we’ve all been put on notice that they have those intentions this year. Wow.
  11. So true. Argyle can be a real problem, even for the FF’s of the world. The great thing about how well Silsbee is playing is that they are still very young as well. You have to believe they are going to continue to improve and mature. And they are always tough teams (teams often follow their coach’s personality. Beating United is irrelevant. They just need to beat whoever lines up opposite them in Feb and March. Also, not to hijack a thread but HJ is looking really good as well
  12. That state championship game performance may be the best singular HS game I’ve seen an area player play. And on the biggest of stages. That, along with Braelon’s game against Yates are two that are unforgettable for me.
  13. For sure. He is super talented in both but that looks to be the higher and more certain path. As it generally is for someone who excels in both.
  14. Agreed. Not in the conversation with those two. Not yet and probably not ever. But really good players.
  15. Silsbee looks great for sure. You never know what could happen in any given game. Silsbee shoots the lights out, they have a puncher’s chance against United. Having said that, United will have the two best players on the floor by a long shot.
  16. This Tiger team may be ahead of schedule. That’s two really impressive outings against big schools with solid teams. Dallas is going to have to earn it even this year.
  17. Hurt his shoulder in the UTSA game diving for a ball. Out for a few weeks I think. Kasen got concussed against Southern Miss. Going through the protocol now. What a shocker they have struggled against this schedule with arguably their two best players. Just need to get healthy. Also will be getting back the 6-7 juco sniper (stretch 4 who rebounds) in January. He’s been out all season with a hand injury. For those of you that are mathematically deficient, that’s 60% of your starting lineup. Tough to win games like that unless you are playing cupcakes.
  18. And obsession with your former rival. And being made to vote FOR your former rival after you were supposedly told you were the only belle at the ball (aggy always has been the ugly little sister after all). And then realizing you are now headed back to where you’ve always been, and the ride amounted to nothing more than a couple of conference wins (wins, not championships). So yeah, I understand the heartache.
  19. Not even close. But they will be well coached, of course, and should be in the picture for one of the last playoff spots.
