Agree with all of this. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Vidor makes the playoffs. I think they are right there with all the non-Silsbee teams. Yes. BC had a lot of solid seniors last year and won their first playoff game since my father-in-law was a senior (and he will be 80 next year). Only one returner I believe (their QB in football). -

Elkins is a solid club who has the firepower to make a playoff run themselves. 2 of Booker t’s 3 losses appear to be to Elkins. They also have an impressive win against a solid Travis team. -

I think Silsbee is the better team. Washington has the best player. He will get his but so will Silsbee’s studs. I would favor Silsbee. -

I think HJ may be slight dogs to Booker T and Yates in the region. Yates pressure may give them some problems and Booker T just gives them matchup nightmares. Sears is a nice player. He’s not in the same stratosphere as Washington’s Lewis. Lewis is better and a half a foot taller. Both basically play the same position. Put a clunky big on Kenneth and you are asking for a 50 piece. -

Is Tarkington better this year? -
I call shenanigans on the whole season and playoffs. @no-lookis a basketball guy. This is absurd.

And a bad loss for WOS. Looking more like LCM, Lumberton and Orangefield will be competing for 2-4 spots. WOS will win some games (and may well “challenge” Silsbee more than all the other district teams), but unless they find some semblance of consistency fast, they may find themselves watching the playoffs despite having the 2nd or 3rd most talented team in the district. -

As previously stated, by a pretty good margin. The scariest part (for future opponents) is their youth. Almost invariably, the younger a team (especially a well coached one), the more growth and improvement you will see. I think a lot of us expected big things from the Tigers by season’s end. But I, for one, would have lost some money betting on some of these early season games. I expected them to compete but this has been AS impressive a pre-district run as I’ve seen from the great Tiger teams. -

Was like they weren’t expecting HJ to try and hit ‘em in the mouth! I’m sure they will take 2 more of those efforts like in the 2nd quarter though. -
West Orange Stark job open/HICKMAN APPROVED

Yeah the ONLY way to not absolutely botch that hire was to give Cornel the keys. There has never been a bigger no brainer hire in the history of football. -

I agree. And I don’t see them steam rolling Vidor either. BC looks to be the only “gimme”-type game in that district among the non-Silsbee teams. And I’m sure the cards could get hot and maybe pull an upset against one of those teams. -

Hopefully the Sabine Pass, Buna, and Bridge City games will have those Indians ready for United! -

No he was not. -
Actually it doesn’t surprise me if they pay attention here. I’ve told many people you are the Jimmy the Greek of SETX hs sports.
-
Silsbee will win. I have no clue by how much. Except that I learned long ago to defer to AAW on HS lines. So my guess is around 20.
-
Yes but there was a lot of “he’s never going to finish the season” posts on this board and others. He’s playing and he should be. This was a rare case of some 🐓 💩 stuff going on with DECs in Dallas. But also happens to be the norm in SETX.
-
Confirmed. And if he was going to Hamshire Fannett and not Duncanville, he would have never seen the court this year. #levels
-
It should. You know, history. But enjoy the blip. Those are always fun 🤣😂

My thoughts exactly. Jesus the school really does just recruit itself. Top 5 class after that horrendous season…. And once there’s no longer a competing conference pitch, lol - no wonder they got so big mad when they were made to vote for big brother and like it… But as we well know, championships aren’t won in December or February. If so, we’d have run out of fingers for rings long ago.
-
Seems pretty clear to me that while United is clearly the best area team, Silsbee is the second best by a good margin as well. They just keep stacking impressive wins.
-
Silsbee won’t have anyone who matches up with Lewis for sure due to his combination of size and skill set. By the same token, I think Washington may struggle with Silsbee’s guards. Jimmy may be right but there is definitely competing school of thought here.
-
Agreed. Washington also has the best player in the district in Kenneth Lewis, 6-7 wing who can shoot, get the cup, etc. Not sure they will respond to Silsbee’s style of play. Yates’ games will be somewhat of an indicator but I think Silsbee is clearly better than Yates this year. All in all, I like Silsbee in the region and probably have HJ as my dark horse (if they can be considered a dark horse).
