  1. I am surprised no one mentioned David Peavy. Back to back state titles in the highest classification and no one is talking about him for COTY? Oh wait, Duncanville’s not in the Enterprises coverage area either, I guess.
  2. I agree. Other than Green, as good or better an argument can be made for Mitchell as any. Correct, and arguably one of those is well above the other. Regardless, I used those 3 because they are all D1 players, the others are not (although a couple on that second team could be I guess).
  3. Look, even Silsbee misses on a recruit every now and then... Back to topic - Brooks doing work on the recruiting trail. Gordon definitely a solid pick up. More coming.
  4. Never sure of the technical terms with coaches jobs but his services weren’t retained. Rough couple of years for Nimitz. Nathan is a great guy though - wish him well.
  5. Arceneaux, Yates, McClure The other players in SETX
  6. Congrats to Charli! Lady Longhorn goes as the #1 overall pick in the WNBA draft to the Dallas Wings.
  7. Helluva backcourt Brooks has there with him and Adams. Going to a stronger conference and should have 2 of the best guards in the league.
  8. Yes they would. And welcome back stranger.
  9. I will be equally shocked as some of you, but only if the case isn’t affirmed on appeal. Based on what I’ve read, it seemed more of a manslaughter case but appellate courts very rarely EVER reverse a jury verdict in a criminal case, and I’ve seen way worse than this one upheld. I hate to disagree with Dershowitz but I’d be willing to bet a large sum of money the SCOTUS will never touch this case with a 10 foot pole. Chauvin will not the be the first or last person who will spend a long time in jail for maybe nothing more than being an idiot. Right or wrong, that is often the end result in our judgment system, even in cases with no publicity.
  10. I mean they are clearly just letting her talk out of her behind these days. How does no one vet what she is planning to say? Heads up Nancy - I’m pretty sure my black friends (and family) would just prefer to remain alive....
  11. Maybe they can become murderers. Lot less training involved.
  12. Year before last at our finals in Atlanta, he went 5 games and missed either 2 or 3 jump shots the whole week. Kid is the real deal. Also an elite shot blocker with the highest of motors. Hoping the Rockets get the number one pick in the 2022 draft.
  13. Having said all that, Lamar obviously now has several spots to fill. I would love to see Bush join Adams (if that is something he is interested in). Love that kid.
  14. So when they had one guard spot available, they should have told Kasen, “No, we are going to wait and see what Braelon is going to do” when Harrison decided to take the offer first? Because both were offered by those “clowns.” Clueless wasn’t just a ‘90s movie.
  15. Yeah Savion is a nice replacement for Nutall who will be at SMU next year. The old Southland teams have made some nice additions heading into the new conference. Those wondering the benefit of joining the WAC - recruiting is one of them.
  16. Really huge. So as not to get it twisted, he would have been at Lamar without the coaching change too. But the fact that Brooks kept him on course (and not going to that school in Nac, no offense @no-look) is huge. Replacing one of the biggest recruits Lamar has gotten in awhile (Harrison) with another (Adams) is vital going into the new conference. Not to mention we desperately need Jordyn’s scoring (along with all the other things he does so well).
  17. When my oldest boy was playing his last year of summer basketball, we were in NY playing on the piers of Manhattan. After dropping the first game of the weekend, we won the next two and were playing a brand new team on our circuit in the last game of the weekend on Sunday. The team was out of Minnesota called “Grassroots Sizzle” and had a freshman playing for them we were told was the nephew of Terrell Suggs. He was obviously playing up in 17u and we were told he was one of the top dual threat QBs in the country. We won the game but he was impressive for a freshman, and we assumed we might see him in the NFL someday. However, the next couple of years, it became obvious that basketball was his future. Fast forward 4 years and Jalen just hit a 45 footer at the buzzer in OT to send his Gonzaga team to the championship game. He will also be a lock top 5 pick in this year’s NBA draft. Oh, and the next year a kid joined him for Sizzle, a 7 footer named Chet Holmgren. Chet is even better and will almost certainly be the number one pick in the following draft.
  18. Gonzaga and Baylor have been the best two teams all season. That would be a great showdown. Personally, I would like to see Few finally get a ring.
  19. With those two gone, I would be doing everything I could to keep Muoka in Beaumont. And finding a PG is essential at this point. Again, one reason why hiring Brooks makes a ton of sense.
  20. If you were going to fire the most successful Lamar coach since Tubbs and Foster, Brooks is as good as it gets imo to replace Tic. He is well liked and respected and can go out and get some dudes to replace the ones we lost. At least one of those mentioned ITT as a viable alternative would have been disastrous.
  21. They probably won’t but Tech should hire Golding from Abilene. Not a sexy hire but a Beard clone (although a little more affable than Beard). Great up and comer that’s going to make whoever hires him look like a genius.
  22. He ain’t leaving. Tilman will match whatever Tech can muster. Plus Kellen’s been promised the job whenever Kelvin hangs it up.
