  1. I agree this is actually a great hire. Must say I’m pleasantly surprised.
  2. Except that apparently it is. Just not hard for @tvc184to understand.
  3. April 23. After having the virus during the Christmas holidays, I was going to get it as soon as I could. It was a very rough go of it for me.
  4. I don’t think he did either. But if he knew the pulse of that basketball team, he wouldn’t have been surprised. Tic was universally loved by those kids. Which says something about him - he definitely isn’t a sugar coat it, kids gloves coach.
  5. And now Muoka. The cupboard is essentially bare. What a S-show.
  6. The entire MBB team at Lamar University.
  7. We were arguing on this site a year ago whether Montverde would have beaten SFA. Cade and Scottie Barnes will both be top 10 picks. Moses Moody may join them (and will be a lottery pick at a minimum). Oh and 7 footer Mark Williams had 23 & 19 in Duke’s last game of the year against Louisville. Yeah I’m still taking MV.
  8. This one has been hard to shake. I knew him before I knew this board existed. I enjoyed reading stevenash’s posts before I found out stevenash was Stan. When I did it was quite a trip. He loved having discussions on a variety of subjects, politics obviously being one of his favorites. As you all know, I probably disagreed as often as we agreed. But I didn’t feel like he ever thought less of me when we did, and I can promise that was mutual. One thing I appreciated (as I do with some of the others I know here - Hagar, BSW; and some I don’t know personally - LRF, baddog) is that we could disagree and keep it cordial. We could have different opinions and still respect one another...hell even enjoy one another’s company. It’s a shame that is becoming exceedingly rare. I will miss being reading stevenash’s posts on this site. I will miss being able to text him when I have a question I know he will know the answer to. But most of all I will miss that smile of his that he always seemed to wear, a smile that filled his entire face. Continued prayers for his wife, kids, grandkids, and all of his loved ones.
  9. Kopp already entered the portal. If they lose Kasen, Muoka, etc, it’s going to be a train wreck. Especially Kasen. Best recruit Lamar has gotten in a while. Got robbed of Freshman of the year in that conference.
  10. Amen. Prayers for his family and loved ones. Stan was one of a kind.
  11. Stick to baseball. It’s more your speed.
  12. Certainly not those with low basketball IQs...
  13. This Abilene team may not be done. It’s the best Southland team I’ve seen since that Walkup SFA group.
  14. And the official line is he moved back home because he was homesick. Had nothing to do with not getting the starting PG job over Isa Silva...
  15. He started the school year in California. He transferred back to Kimball in October.
  16. He is no longer with the team. He will be transferring from Sam - not sure whether it will involve basketball or not.
  17. No doubt. I’m glad Morris was able to enroll in October, just in time for the season. We will get to see him up close and personal this weekend in Houston.
  18. That might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard involving this great game. And that’s saying something because I’ve been a frequent visitor to this board for years. 😂 He had one kid on his team (Morris) that can compare with Arceneaux and Yates in terms of a “basketball player.”
  19. Yep and at which point the plan is for BU to go wire to wire at the top spot on their way to pulling off the repeat...
  20. Shouldn’t be unpopular. Spot on.
  21. To be sure. But I had Green as my COTY because of winning it all. And with the youth on that team, it’s pretty impressive there were zero hiccups on the season. And despite what was claimed here, they weren’t just a prohibitive favorite. In fact many folks, myself included, would have had Lancaster as a solid favorite against them. Lancaster had more seasoned players, and far more size. And a high major Pg who seemed to be in his 8th season leading that team. Several were deserving. Give it to the guy who got the ring.
  22. Agree completely. If we are going to say who did the most with what they had this year, my vote goes to either Kevin Foster of Big Sandy or Andre Boutte of West Brook. Neither of their team’s had any business winning the games they won this year but for outstanding coaching. And I’m not saying either team was terrible because they weren’t. But Big Sandy was at least a year away from having a team that should be advancing to the regional tournament (or the equivalent). And WB beating Atascocita in the regular season, winning a playoff game and then taking Shadow Creek to OT in the second round? I’m not sure that any of the hardware on his hand is any more impressive than what he did with that squad this year. Oh and add Joe Sigler to those two.
  23. Yes but it’s a “little” different with McClure. When you have a 6-6 wing who can handle it and shoot it and he’s the only D-1 in the district (other than Silsbee’s freshman or two that look like future D-1s, it makes an even bigger difference. But your point is well taken in general.
