  1. So when they had one guard spot available, they should have told Kasen, “No, we are going to wait and see what Braelon is going to do” when Harrison decided to take the offer first? Because both were offered by those “clowns.” Clueless wasn’t just a ‘90s movie.
  2. You two behave.
  3. Yeah Savion is a nice replacement for Nutall who will be at SMU next year. The old Southland teams have made some nice additions heading into the new conference. Those wondering the benefit of joining the WAC - recruiting is one of them.
  4. Really huge. So as not to get it twisted, he would have been at Lamar without the coaching change too. But the fact that Brooks kept him on course (and not going to that school in Nac, no offense @no-look) is huge. Replacing one of the biggest recruits Lamar has gotten in awhile (Harrison) with another (Adams) is vital going into the new conference. Not to mention we desperately need Jordyn’s scoring (along with all the other things he does so well).
  5. When my oldest boy was playing his last year of summer basketball, we were in NY playing on the piers of Manhattan. After dropping the first game of the weekend, we won the next two and were playing a brand new team on our circuit in the last game of the weekend on Sunday. The team was out of Minnesota called “Grassroots Sizzle” and had a freshman playing for them we were told was the nephew of Terrell Suggs. He was obviously playing up in 17u and we were told he was one of the top dual threat QBs in the country. We won the game but he was impressive for a freshman, and we assumed we might see him in the NFL someday. However, the next couple of years, it became obvious that basketball was his future. Fast forward 4 years and Jalen just hit a 45 footer at the buzzer in OT to send his Gonzaga team to the championship game. He will also be a lock top 5 pick in this year’s NBA draft. Oh, and the next year a kid joined him for Sizzle, a 7 footer named Chet Holmgren. Chet is even better and will almost certainly be the number one pick in the following draft.
  6. Gonzaga and Baylor have been the best two teams all season. That would be a great showdown. Personally, I would like to see Few finally get a ring.
  7. With those two gone, I would be doing everything I could to keep Muoka in Beaumont. And finding a PG is essential at this point. Again, one reason why hiring Brooks makes a ton of sense.
  8. If you were going to fire the most successful Lamar coach since Tubbs and Foster, Brooks is as good as it gets imo to replace Tic. He is well liked and respected and can go out and get some dudes to replace the ones we lost. At least one of those mentioned ITT as a viable alternative would have been disastrous.
  9. They probably won’t but Tech should hire Golding from Abilene. Not a sexy hire but a Beard clone (although a little more affable than Beard). Great up and comer that’s going to make whoever hires him look like a genius.
  10. He ain’t leaving. Tilman will match whatever Tech can muster. Plus Kellen’s been promised the job whenever Kelvin hangs it up.
  11. Someone take Ainge. Anyone.
  12. I agree this is actually a great hire. Must say I’m pleasantly surprised.
  13. Except that apparently it is. Just not hard for @tvc184to understand.
  14. April 23. After having the virus during the Christmas holidays, I was going to get it as soon as I could. It was a very rough go of it for me.
  15. I don’t think he did either. But if he knew the pulse of that basketball team, he wouldn’t have been surprised. Tic was universally loved by those kids. Which says something about him - he definitely isn’t a sugar coat it, kids gloves coach.
  16. And now Muoka. The cupboard is essentially bare. What a S-show.
  17. The entire MBB team at Lamar University.
  18. We were arguing on this site a year ago whether Montverde would have beaten SFA. Cade and Scottie Barnes will both be top 10 picks. Moses Moody may join them (and will be a lottery pick at a minimum). Oh and 7 footer Mark Williams had 23 & 19 in Duke’s last game of the year against Louisville. Yeah I’m still taking MV.
  19. This one has been hard to shake. I knew him before I knew this board existed. I enjoyed reading stevenash’s posts before I found out stevenash was Stan. When I did it was quite a trip. He loved having discussions on a variety of subjects, politics obviously being one of his favorites. As you all know, I probably disagreed as often as we agreed. But I didn’t feel like he ever thought less of me when we did, and I can promise that was mutual. One thing I appreciated (as I do with some of the others I know here - Hagar, BSW; and some I don’t know personally - LRF, baddog) is that we could disagree and keep it cordial. We could have different opinions and still respect one another...hell even enjoy one another’s company. It’s a shame that is becoming exceedingly rare. I will miss being reading stevenash’s posts on this site. I will miss being able to text him when I have a question I know he will know the answer to. But most of all I will miss that smile of his that he always seemed to wear, a smile that filled his entire face. Continued prayers for his wife, kids, grandkids, and all of his loved ones.
  20. Kopp already entered the portal. If they lose Kasen, Muoka, etc, it’s going to be a train wreck. Especially Kasen. Best recruit Lamar has gotten in a while. Got robbed of Freshman of the year in that conference.
  21. Amen. Prayers for his family and loved ones. Stan was one of a kind.
  22. Stick to baseball. It’s more your speed.
