  1. Tyler Jackson is African American on this year’s team. And he’s not the only one
  2. Virtually unheard of 😉 GCM must have been killing with the SMRJs.
  3. Completely agree. They are both high major kids. And both would be the number one ranked kid in their respective classes (and were) in the greater Houston area but for Griggs moving back. I wouldn’t bet against either one of them eventually making money playing this game. Speaking of, TJ Atwood had a 50 piece the other night playing in Malta.
  4. I will say it again. United doesn’t bring their A game on Wednesday, they won’t make it to Griggs and Co. Foster is NOT a team to be trifled with.
  5. I’m with you. The middle paragraph especially. Well, the third too for that matter. I must admit I laughed when I read the title of your thread. Not that it was funny and I think it’s a great idea and maybe something that should be required in DC. But because it reminded me of the classic Gomer Pyle line from the Andy Griffith show - “For a fat girl you sure don’t sweat much!” I think that’s the kind of “compliments” we should expect here 😂
  6. I haven’t been able to find that info either. I can share that I have been to a West Brook home game this season and tickets were sold at the gate.
  7. Look his team whose coach you don’t care for is eliminated. You just make sure if you guys get Huffman, your Lions let them know “karma is a B.” Tell Wise when they hit a hundred, hit that gas even harder. They are all below average compared to JY.
  8. No - that’s why I said carry on. You are entitled to continue to beat an irrelevant horse and confuse an objective discussion with a subjective one. It is completely your right to do so on this message board.
  9. Gotcha. I had a similar situation a couple of years ago where a very well respected local coach was playing puppet master with another school to try and keep my kid from playing. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t realize I had known a couple of superintendents in that district most of my life. So we were lucky and it didn’t end well for those trying to improve their team’s chances by doing a kid dirty.
  10. Hold on, I thought HJ voted to allow your kid to play? Am I incorrect?
  11. Those two agreeing couldn’t shock me less. 😂 But I guess an average team beat another average team, neither of which deserved to be in the playoffs. We got it now.
  12. And continue to go off on your own tangent, but carry on sir 😂🤣
  13. 😂 But I still say REALLY good hire. I’m assuming Covid?
  14. Has nothing to do with being old school or not. It either equals or betters the previous top accomplishment, or it doesn’t. It’s by definition, not opinion.
  15. They ain’t worried about HF. They’ve already moved on to Yates. (Some of the fans, that is. I’m sure Sigler is taking HF very seriously and doing everything he can to keep the kids focused.)
  16. If that’s never been bettered, then by its very definition, yes. It was only the second playoff win in school history I believe. Has nothing to do with being loose with terminology - it was a historic win for the school.
  17. I get it. You don’t like HJ or their coach based on comments last year. But while digging at them, you kind of insulted the team that beat them. Obviously Yates is below average if you compare them to Duncanville (who beat the brakes off of them) or even a United or Hightower team who would likely beat the brakes off of the Lions. I generally don’t have a problem with Yates. I will root for them against one team in particular in the region, and will always root for them against any team from the Metroplex.
  18. I’m sure you would like to give the population thing a rest. Just like the 21 year old likes to shave before he goes to school the 12 year olds. I think this BC team has much to be proud of. They are as good a team as I remember them having in a long, long time. So while they aren’t on a Yates’ standard and don’t need 3 rows of chairs to complete a 27 player bench, I wouldn’t call them average. I would call them a good group of young men who play extremely well together. And a team that just achieved a major win for their program.
  19. Well dang. Good season Mustangs. Much to build on for Coach Wilson and crew. Now let’s go Brookshire Royal (and whatever your mascot is)!
  20. Average compared to whom? Yates? Then I would agree. But that is a senior-laden group who play very well together. Can they compete with the big bad Lions? Likely no. But they also draw from a population base of 8k compared to 2.3 million. That’s right, you have roughly 287 times the population base of Bridge City from which to recruit. I understand it has been a down year recruiting for Coach Wise but your student body of athletes is still one any coach down here would salivate for. So when you denigrate a team by calling it average, just remember you are the 21 year old playing in the park with middle schoolers. Congratulations I guess??
  21. I agree but they took Hightower to the wire twice which has Bryce Griggs (the one kid in the region who I put with Arceneaux). United plays well, they win. If they don’t, Foster could upset them. That’s all I’m saying.
  22. I agree but have to win some to get there. This next one, they have to be ready to play. Chancellor White is a bucket and 6-8 A&M OL signee Reuben “Deuce” Fatheree gave the 6-9 kid from Hightower the business the last time they played. United is deeper and more talented overall but needs to bring A game for this one.
  23. Was it from that BS that happened at the end of the Huffman game?
