Hardin-Jefferson 83 Hamshire-Fannett 55/FINAL

If they get healthy what a horrible first round matchup that will be for a district champion. Ask Huffman’s last year’s 30-2 team... If they don’t get healthy, walk in the park. -

Losing 2 starters (including your best player) is tough for most any school this size to overcome. Most 4A schools are not blessed with great depth. In basketball, every injury to key players is just magnified. Losing 2 starters in hoops is the equivalent of losing 9 starters in football. How is that going to effect most 4A schools? -

As I’m sure you know, it is nothing new for a team to go play at the Hill and complain about the refs. I’m sure some of it is sour grapes, but sometimes where there’s smoke.... -

You don’t share the logic that a freshman star who has never played in a playoff game wouldn’t likely play better as he gets more experience? I’m not sure the opposing view has any logic involved in it. Edit: which is to say, while my theory isn’t an absolute, it certainly would be a logical conclusion. -

+1000! May I also add that with a team as young as Silsbee, they will likely get better each and every round of the playoffs. Some of their best players have never even experienced playing in a playoff game. So hypothetically, playing a Yates in round 2 vs round 4 or 5 could make a huge difference in potential outcomes as well. -

I seem to recall a game where Harley completely controlled the tempo and the game ended in a one basket win with both teams scoring in the 40s or something. I can’t remember if LCM actually won that one though. AAW would be the guy to tell you the last time Silsbee lost to the bears though. -

Oh ok. I thought Silsbee was forced to forfeit which I thought was ridiculous at the time. No need to rehash that of course lol. -

Technically the bench clearing brawl game that ended in a Silsbee forfeit. -
By the way, a coach leaves A&M for a position at Alabama (obvious upgrade). Leaves that job to take a job at The University of Texas. At least we still know the pecking order around here...

Why are almost half the posts in a thread about the Longhorn coaching staff by an aggy? Yes they’ve moved on 😂🤣 #obsessionstillnoted

I would love to know who came up with this plan and the rationale behind it. My experience has been that when you see a decision so devoid of logic you can’t begin to comprehend it, the answer is almost invariably laziness. -
Is this the “lite-est” version of Silsbee lite to date?
-
That seems reasonable.

My guy 😂🤣. Always seem to like where your head is at.

Completely agree. The Vidor ruling was beyond ridiculous. But you’re right - once that set the precedent, there’s no going back. Hard to imagine what they were thinking when so many other districts are doing makeups. The silver lining, if there is one, is you draw the two weakest teams in the district for these two games. However, when you had so many youngsters already up on varsity, it’s still a hard hill to climb.

And here is the hazard or my making a Silsbee vs field bet before district started 😳
