Wow. Thought this one would be way closer.
-
Look at his post history. Doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to piece that one together. And I have zero doubt you wish the kid well. I’m quite sure you are sincere about that.
-
Actually some d bag from HJ keeps posting the same trolling comment about McClure in multiple Lumberton game threads. I called him out on it and forgot about Prudhomme in the process. I forgot about someone who played 8 years ago. He is bashing a kid who is in HS now. Yeah, it’s my bad 😂🤣
-
[Hidden Content] when you just had your best season in over 80 years and still... In all seriousness, that dude from Ohio should lose his vote...
-
Maybe Dabo wasn’t that far off. Because #2 looked a lot closer to #12 than #1. Truthfully, there were probably about 10 teams or so that were interchangeable after Bama.
-
Technically A&M DID do this. I’m guessing that 52-24 won’t stay the score for the rest of this game though...
-
Seriously though. Saban is like the John Wooden of football except Saban doesn’t have 100 schollies for a 12 man roster. The same fact is why you have to put him above Bryant IMO.
-
Or BOB will become a genius too. He has resurrected more than one coach (Kiffin, hopefully Sark 🤞).
-
Saban is simply the best ever. Period. My apologies to the ghost of Bear Bryant. I hear you were magnificent too.

Says the Hj troll who posts the same dumb comment about Brock McClure on multiple threads in this board. I’ll get a grip when you get a clue.

I’m just a guy who has donated my time to helping kids in summer ball for many years. We send about 8-10 kids to college (almost all D1) every year. And as a result, I’ve gotten to know and talk to college coaches often when they call to ask about a particular kid (like this afternoon). But THEY offer kids, not me. You seem confused about the process but I’m always happy to help 😃
-
I think he has a good chance to get one there (he already has other offers but this would be one to jump on). And the school that was inquiring is coached by a guy whose brother has coached in the Big 12 for many years now and has his program in the top 5 in the country. The school who called is currently in first place in the WAC. But you obviously really thought that comment was the one 😂
-
While I was sitting at a Lamar game today, had a coach from a WAC school text me and ask me my opinion about a kid from Cy Lakes. I told him to get a SETX sports account and ask you guys if the kid was any good.
-
Very much so. He has absolutely taken over this game against HBU in the last 2 minutes of the game. Best player on the floor again. Special, special talent.
-
I would go with Kenyon but Prudhomme would be runner up. I completely missed him. If you include Eli, I would put him above Prudhomme too. Not knocking Zjori. Even though he was originally a walk on, he was a nice role player for the Cards. He struggled to get minutes at times but that’s not uncommon at the college level (as you know). I was just willing to bet Brock will put up better numbers at the same school with the same coach than Bosha did over his career.

Orangefield 63 West Orange-Stark 46/FINAL

Yeah I think we are seeing what we thought going in, that there would be a lot of parity in this district. In fact, now that your Pirates are playing ball, with the exception of Silsbee (and maybe Lumberton), almost any team is capable of beating any other team on any given night. I will stick by my preseason prediction of: 1) Silsbee 2) Lumberton 3) BC and 4) wide open. But Lumberton and BC will be an interesting game coming up. -

They don’t understand what you’re selling. When you can recruit the 3rd biggest city in the country and only play at the third highest level (4A) in said state, it doesn’t take Coach K to win some championships. -
Hard to be younger than this Silsbee team. They seemed really young last year (obviously with a senior that will go down as one of the all time greats there) but this year they are even younger. I will say that the two seniors seemed to really step it up last night and played really well. Even though it’s only a couple of kids, having senior leadership on such a young team is huge. This team might end up really surprising some of us (me included).

You can argue with these guys until you are blue in the face. Had some of these same conversations last year re Hefner. All he has done is go to a high D1 school and play meaningful minutes and even start some games. As a freshman. They get confused over HS vs college ball which are two completely different animals that are universes apart. McClure has the size and skill set that will, like Hefner, garner him minutes and make him a very impactful player for Lamar. I didn’t say star or all conference or any of that (although the way I understand he works, I won’t sell him short and say it’s out of the question). But he will earn his scholarship there, I have no doubt. But save your breath would be my advice. People either know and get it or they don’t. You won’t convince them otherwise. And for someone who claims not to be a basketball guy, your posts on this thread seem to indicate otherwise.

Not denying it, was jerking chains. I think I see the disconnect though. We are not talking about the best HIGH SCHOOL players here. You said you don’t see McClure as a D1 player. HUGE difference. Donohoe, who you brought up, is a prime example. Easily could argue he’s a better HS player and you would be right imo. By the same token, Ryan was a mediocre D2 player in college. Also as we pointed out, I would argue that Braelon Bush (who has already proven he’s a legit D1 btw) was a better HS player than Greg Brown. Same HS class, Braelon was better in HS. Greg, however, is having a great freshman season at Texas and will likely be a mid first round pick in next year’s draft.

Yes, you do 😂

Knowing who it was now, you can take that story to the bank. Paul is a good dude, and he is a passionate guy. Sounds like he found a ref with rabbit ears and that was the end of it. Glad to hear it from him and doesn’t sound like it had anything to do with any of the Tiger players.

You are awfully sensitive with the “basketball gods” and “I know you’re never wrong” comments. You just keep making comments like this one that reveal you are more than a little off with your evaluations. But to use one kid who you are mistaken about, again, I am willing to bet McClure averages more than 6 pts and 3 rebs at Lamar. Same school, same coach as Bosha played at/for. And I am wrong on occasion. I sat in a gym in Duncanville several years ago and argued with one of my best friends that Texas should hire Shaka and he argued they should hire Buzz Williams. This year aside (where Shaka is trying to prove me right), I have still admitted to him many times that he was right and I was wrong. And he knows a little about the sport too...his sons played for Calipari at Kentucky
