You are AxeEm, Coach S, or is it time to change the handle again? I wish I had foreseen the Covid outbreak at Silsbee too. That’s quite a skill. But even without it, it’s still probably a push. Lumberton earned this one tonight.

You might be a top 10 updater on this site BB. Keep it up. -
Congrats to the Raiders! What a job Coach Mitchell has done with that program since taking over. Love to see good things happen to good people - and Josh is as good a guy as they come. And regardless of covid, injuries, etc, those boys worked their tails off and accomplished a major goal. Hats off to Lumberton.

Southeast Texas officiating at its finest. When you blow an unblowable call.... -

What a run for Coldspring basketball. Duke graduates this year and the all time points leader, Bishop, graduated last year. Historic run for the Trojans. -
Very crazy. It seemed pretty obvious that if anyone was going to challenge silsbee, it would be Lumberton.

Count me in with the “old heads” (as the kids now say). I still like someone to scan and bag my groceries. I even prefer to throw a high school kid a few bucks for loading them in my vehicle. We are steadily losing good old human interaction for the sake of “convenience.” I can’t help but wonder if that isn’t contributing to our society’s decline...

I think teams playing extremely short handed that weren’t that deep to begin with, that are back at full strength could shake things up. We shall see.
-
I’m not so sure about that...
-
They are a much better team now than they were earlier in the season. If any team could beat Yates in that region, it would be HJ. If I were betting, my money would still be on JY to win the region. But HJ is my next pick.
-
I have been impressed with the fight in BC both times they played the Tigers. Helps when you have a seasoned PG against that pressure.
-
Just so you don’t get confused, I would also be thrilled if HJ made it to regionals and/or state. I would think we would all be thrilled with his other two (United and EC). Huffman I would be thrilled if they got bounced on their ear in the first round again. That’s unlikely but a second round exit could be highly possible. Carry on...

I don’t know how accurate Badsanta’s predictions are but I would be thrilled if he nailed them all.

Goose Creek Memorial 79 Manvel 68/FINAL
TxHoops replied to Peppermint Patty's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Scouting report I got also said he is very strong with the ball (rarely turns it over), exceptional decision making, and high basketball IQ. For a 6-5 combo guard, I would say the future is bright. -

I have gotten rave reviews about Mr Bradford. Should get to see a lot of him in a few months. -

Nope. The other big game is the one that would have a huge dose of justice involved. Heck they only lost by 15 the first time with the best player and shooter out. Might be a game without a hand tied behind the back (and a kid on JV due, in part, to a chicken 💩 vote by said school). -
You are right about that first championship. Tough to be deeper than that team. Sig played 15 deep for most of that year 😂. How do you get deeper? Play 20 and everyone gets to ply a quarter? Was a weird situation too. You guys are right that the upper classmen were very instrumental in that run. Yet the two best players were freshmen.

You don’t cut any slack TW08. I like your style 😃 -
Yeah if you pressing, you are inviting a layup or dunk. Conversely, I’m with you on the unwritten rule. Another unwritten rule is that if you break the first unwritten rule, don’t be surprised when you receive a hard foul in the process. Yet another reason to abide by the first unwritten rule. But again, if a team is still pressing, obviously the competition is still on and so is scoring.

[Hidden Content] I couldn’t figure out where to post this so thought here was as good as any other thread. And although I’m sure it’s not PC, I lol’d.

Vidor also got hit hard by Covid. They are closer to the other teams in the district than their record indicates.

Jesus meets a Republican, a libertarian and a democrat. He notices the Republican is blind so he lays his hands on him. The Republican exclaims “thank you Lord! I can finally see.” Jesus notices the libertarian is crippled so he walks over and lays his hands on him. The Libertarian stands up and cries out, “Thank you dear Jesus! I can now walk!” Finally Jesus walks over to the Democrat. The Democrat throws his hands out and screams, “Don’t you dare touch me! I’m on disability!”

Probably so. If the Horns get back to full strength, I wouldn’t be surprised if an “upset” occurs though that could shake that up. -

Shepherd must not be as bad as some thought. I can see how they might be tough to beat with 60 percent of your starters injured.
