NO NO NO, there is a kid from from Leader Academy who is a super 16, not a good player, sucks everywhere else in his game, but could he serve.

I went and watched the 1 match Minick won at the Woodlands Clay Court Open. They didn't play on clay because it was onl superchamps who got to play, but he got destroyed in the first set and then his opponent started hurling all over the court. He was sick and Minick still barely won in the 3rd set.

My mistake, he has had 2 other kids that won 1 and 2 in state, but that was in the 80's. Only reason they win district is because everybody else in their district sucks. Their only battle will be Deavers which we already know that he is a shoe-in for 1

You don't know yet if they can't beat the top 3 teams yet until this weekend. That was at the begining of the tennis season when they lost, now it is the end and they have had a little practice.

Your right about Carnley, but I heard that after district he is going to be hitting the courts hard. He quit baseball, so there you are.

I am there with you on Ron Westbrook as being a great coach, but David Wong and Jerry Creamer are just jokes. David Wong killed the Lamar Tennis program. He recruited kids who could beat a 16 superchamp. Thank goodness they got him out of the mens section. As for Jerry Creamer, name one kid he has produced beside Matt Minick. I can't think of one right now and if you do find one let me know. Lopez I have heard is a good player and you are right, he does always have a great team, but never a standout player like Deavers(Silsbee), Boone(Kelly), and Sagar(Westbrook).

Last year the Warriors only won 1 of their 3 meetings with Kountze. Hopefully they pull out a win, but with their 2 game losing series, moral is very low I bet.

Hopefully they keep it and only improve from here.

Deavers and Minick will meet in the finals, but Deavers will win, no doubt about it. Deavers is a 16 superchamp and Minick is a 18 champ. There is a big difference between these two levels of tennis. Me being a former 16 champ, know that Deavers will have no trouble beating Minick

All the tennis coaches are good in this area for what they their real job is either basketball or other sport. The best coach would have to be ZACH CARRELL.

Lamar Cardinals tennis is horrible, except for their number 1 guy who really is the only one who can get a win under his belt. They lose to teams who don't even give tennis schloarships. I went to watch them last year play UTSA Roadrunners and they only won 1 match the whole day. They recruite guys from the Beaumont area who think they are good around here, but when compared to the whole state of Texas, really stink. They took a look at Devin Harley who is descent in Beaumont, but really suxs. Now for Cody form B.C., ya another good player, but come on Lamar you can do better. These 2 kids aren't Division 1 players. I have played with kids from Houston who I know for a fact that have beaten these 2 kids and they are just getting Division 3 schloarships. Lamar was so stupid to let the HUGE Czech Republican, Petr Neymnar(or however you spell it), he placed second in 2A state and I have researched him and found he even played for their National Team. Lamar was an idiot to let him go. As for their girls, they are pretty good.

Didn't get to watch the game, but from what I heard it sounded like a choke fest in the top of the 7th. What happen to their bats in the bottem of the 7th?

Who do you think will be dominating singles and doubles next year. Word is a senior this year, so Carnley will go back to singles. Matt is graduating, but Mathew Deavers is still here. So what do ya think?

By far Mathew is the best Singles players. I said Matt Minick was the next best player, but we give him too much credit. He really isn't that good compared to the whole grand scheme. Take him to the Houston tournaments and you will see him get crushed. Deavers will beat Minick 10 out of 10 times. Carnley and Word have a good thing going and I know they play at the Southbrook Tournament this friday, so we will see how it goes.

The best singles player is defiently Mathew Deavers. Others would have to be Matt Minick and Kenton Boone from Kelly. Kenton doesn't get the recognition he should get. I played him our freshman year and went to Elite Academy in Beaumont, where I saw him just dominating everybody else. As for those three, I see no one else in singles. As for the doubles, I think Carnley and Word are by fare the best team, but they still can be beat as you have already seen. Nederland has two good doubles teams who will give you a run for your money. I really don't know about any of the other doubles teams around here.

I don't know who has the best record in singles, but I am pretty sure it is Mathew Devers. I have seen him play in school tournaments and in a 16 Champ tournament in Houston. As for the doubles, Carnley and Word defiently have the best record of 17-1 with their only lost to Kelly in the Nederland Tournament. They have won the Lamar 4A-5A, Orangefield, and the Kelly tournaments. They also won the E.C. and Woodville tournament, but those are just 2 crappy tournaments. Note to everyone, Woodville had the worst tennis tournament I heard.
